@@bbell909 Heck yeah that’s awesome, congrats !!! I also have a pair of patriots I love them. Franks boots are awesome !! Thank you so much and thanks for watching 🤙
"giving my foot a hug" You nailed the perfect description of my first time lacing on a pair of Frank's boots. My feet are oddly shaped and I am bowlegged. Junior, and the Frank's team, crafted the first pair of boots that have ever fit my feet. Thank you for creating a helpful, insightful, informative video. Great job.
Thank you so much !! Yeah these boots are amazing, I don’t even have them close to broke in yet and I can already tell they’re best pair of boots I’ve ever had on my feet !! Thank you so much for watching !!
Great boots make an enormous difference. Great socks make a big difference too. Greta looking pair of boots there. I haven’t bought a pair of PNW boots yet but soon!
Absolutely man !! Now that a few months have passed I’m really happy I made the jump to buy these !! I really hope you make the leap one day, I think you’ll be happy you did 🤙
Thank you so much !! Yeah man I’m loving these boots, I really need to do a follow up video on them. Hell yeah whites 350 cutters are an awesome looking boot, I think these look every similar. I really think you’d like them if you got a pair. Hell yeah what kind of Harley do you have 🤘. Thank you so much for watching !!
ive always found that boots that need working in for 6 months become the most comfortable and last way longer. the first week is like wearing cement blocks
Absolutely !!! I totally agree. I feel like if the boot starts out really soft and there’s no break in time, it probably won’t last long. Thanks for watching !!
I have two pairs of Franks and one pair of Nicks made when Frank managed Nicks at the same location. Some of the best boots you can buy and service second to none.
Thank you so much !! I’m so happy with my boots and with my experience with franks 👍… ahhh man that’s a bummer. yeah they seem to be pretty popular, I’ve never tried that style boot.
How they treating you now that they're broke in? I would be worried about that unpadded collar with such a tall boot. Might wear hard on your leg at first. I was looking at the prices just out of curiosity. 7 hundred bucks man. Talk about buy once cry once, lol.
Hey man thank you so much for watching !!! I really need to do an update video because these boots are AMAZING !!! So believe it or not the unloading collar wasn’t a problem at all. I too thought it would cause issue, but you don’t even notice it, it’s actually quite comfortable. Yea some of the prices are definitely up there. This pair of boots lists for 5 and change. I bought these for around 450 bucks when they had as sale. To me that wasn’t too bad because now in days your run of the mill production logger boot like a red wing logger or a Chippewa which aren’t made in the USA anymore are around 350 to 385 bucks. So spending less than a 100 bucks more on a much better boot didn’t seem so bad to me 👍. Thanks again !! Oh and a heads up I just realized I’m over 1k subs so I’ll be doing an axe give away soon !! I was hoping before Christmas but I’ve been very busy so I’ll be getting to it very soon.
Nothing like getting a new pair of quality expert made boots. I still sleep with mine on the first night. Done that since I was a child. Those look realy high quality Joey. Can smell the leather from here. Hope you enjoy them and they break in pefect for you.
Hahah nice !!! Thanks so much for watching I really need to do a follow up review on these boots because they’re awesome and holding up great and looks even more beautiful with some age !!
Thank you so much for watching !!! Man these boots are awesome I love them. Yeah the high arch and tall heel is a bit of an acquired taste and isn’t for everyone. I too love the look of a nice wedge sole moc toe boot, thinking of getting a pair soon. Maybe a pair of red wings I love their heritage boots, I have the iron ranger and the blacksmiths so naturally I’ll have to get a moc toe 🤙 thanks for watching !!
i can appreciate the quality. as a tradesman ive worn steel toes for 35 years. in a year they will be loose as goose and part of your body. the great thing is those boots are repairable
Nice, you’ll love them for sure !!! If they’re an in stock ready to ship pair of boots and they have your size in stock they should ship pretty quick. I believe mine came in about 2 weeks. Thanks for watching !!
Hey thanks for watching !!! No these aren’t steel toe. I actually don’t own any steel toe boots so I can’t speak to that. As far as the leather goes, it’s great !! The boots broke in really well and are holding up amazingly. I really need to do an update video, but these boots are awesome !!
I ordered custom boots from Franks. Was sized in person. I ordered 14” uppers in black rough out, tan lower in rough out also, metatarsal guard for welding with comp toe, with tan wedge soles since I’m always on concrete most of the time.
Heck yeah that’s awesome happy to hear from another franks person !! Oh man those sound like they’re going to be some badass boots. I do a lot of welding, not as much as someone that does it for a living but man does it tear up some boots. I don’t wear my franks to weld I usually throw on an old crappy pair of boots. Anyway I’m carrying on. Thank you so much for watching and good luck with your new franks when they come in !!!
@@940joey2 I’m guessing around March if I’m lucky lol. Yes welding destroys leather. The outer met guards do wonders. I have a pair of JK boots called ironhide with the met guard on the outside
That is a good looking boot! I am from Spokane I own several pairs of PNW boots .White's and Nick's. I am trying Frank's out for the first time on a rebuild. I went back to White's after spending over $800, 10 month wait on a pair of boots. I had a few questions on a resole. I wasn't crazy with my final design. The guy was extremely rude and condescending to me. I spent a lot of money at White's over the years. Heard good things about Frank's met with them and was blown away by their friendly customer service, not from the owners, but from other staff. So they are doing my rebuild! ..How are those in the snow? I find they are a bit slippery. Would recommend V 100 lug sole a lot heavier but more cushion and amazing traction!
Nice kicks! I love the Front Range design. It’s like a cross between a logger and a packer. Did you get those on the $100 off sale Frank’s is running right now?
Thank you so much !! Yes I love that you get the best of both of those boots in this boot !! I think I’m going to get the full out logger in the near future that way I have a franks boot for serious work too, I have my eye on the patriot 👍 !! Oh yeah absolutely I had to jump on that deal. Thank you so much for watching !!
Excellent decision to do the boot unboxing in that nice bright room. Really can see the boots so nicely. I am already checking out Franks Boots. I hope you do more boots and gear unboxing. This was fun and informative on a brand I had never heard of and is going to be my next boot. Its 21NOV and its 20% off right now for Black Friday and Cybermonday on 11/26 might even be more off. Thanks again Joey for the new brand and lucky me they are on a huge sale during Thanksgiving time frames. These internet sales go crazy for the buy on Black and Cyber days.
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for the kind words I really appreciate it !!! Sorry I’m just writing back now but heck yeah I hope you picked up a pair !! I’m happy to hear you found out about them because of my video !! Yeah man I’ll def try to do some more unboxing an product reviews in the future. I’ve tired to do a few but ended up deleting the videos I always feel like I’m terrible with reviews 😂. Thanks again !!
Years ago 1978 or 1979 I was working with an old carpenter who had a side hustle selling Mason boots. He taught me how to speed lace my boots. RU-vid it, I’m sure there is videos on it. You can thank me later.
Thank you so much, I checked out a few video on different lacing. You’re right it made a world of difference during the break in process. Now around 4-5 months later they feel great !! Thank you !! and thanks for watching 👍
Haha oh yeah man !! It’s a deep rabbit hole. These boots are beautiful and def worth the money, but man if you collected boots you could spend some serious money !!!
Franks boots are awesome !!! Obviously these are my first pair of PNW boots so the only thing I have to compare them to are my red wings. With that said I think you would be more than happy with a pair of franks boots !! How do you like your nicks 👍. Thanks for watching !!
Thank you so much for watching !!! Absolutely, I’m hoping to get a little update video out soon !! I have some time in them, but I haven’t got as much time in them as I would have like to by this time. I really need to start eating them more !! I will say in the time I have worn them I haven’t found any discomfort yet, these boots are awesome 👍
Joey , I was wondering what you thought of the handle on the Husqvarna Multipurpose axe. I remember Steve from Skill Cult hated it and modified it significantly. What's your opinion?
Hey Brian !! So yeah the Husqvarna axe handle isn’t bad for bushcraft and light use, but if you’re going to use it a lot for long periods of time I 100% recommend thinning down the handle quite a bit. I thinned my handle out a bunch, but I’ve done whole trees with that axe from start to finish and I’ve used that axe for hours on end. If you use it for shot periods of time or every now and again I think the handle is fine.
@@940joey2 - Thanks for the info. One more question. Is the Multipurpoose Axe and Forest Axe the same axe. Almost everything I can find would say yes but I have seen different weights listed for each.
Oh man these boots are awesome!!! The break in is going extremely well 👍 ive been really busy and haven’t had the opportunity to make a video in a while, hoping to get out in the woods soon !! And I’ll be wearing the boots 👍
Thank you so much for watching !! Yes I suspect the smaller lug pattern of this sole won’t take as much abuse as the more aggressive sole, but I believe the boot itself is the same construction and will have no problem taking abuse !! I plan to use this boot at the house and I have the more aggressive patriot coming and plan to use that boot for more of my aggressive work 👍
