I feel your pain, on my first Nuzlocke my mighty Blastoise, Donatello, was killed by my Rival's Rhyhorn JUST before the Elite Four - HORN DRILL... I'm still mad.
@@bendover-pp7tmTotally agree with you. I don't find this video funny a single bit. Having to hear someone talk about a stressful and depressing situation in their life is always hurting.
@idk maybe memes ;D lol that does happen. who else uses Giratina but a bunch of 10/11 year old kids? (I Was meaning the in-game player age. not the person controlling the player)
I have that 'bad' habit of naming every legendary i get after pastries. Like Cupcake the Arceus or Flan the Groudon. I'm nearly 23. I should probably be ashamed. Meh.
This video is great. I love how mandjtv talks about why he started the nuzlocke or why he did some things and i dunno its just allot more fun and interesting then to just hear how only the nuzlocke went
He really makes stuff so interesting that I'd never expect to work and keep me interested but it always works, im glad i found him, wholesome content creator
I would be a little upset if half the video, 15 minutes, is nothing. Now if it happened at the end of the video and was like a minute, then yeah that's hilarious. Even if the video is half the usual length, that would be better than sitting around for 15 minutes waiting for something to happen that never will.
The RU-vid landscape in 2016 was very critical of RU-vid channels who just made 10 minute videos filled with...well, filler. Because of those channels growing big and becoming controversial, any youtuber who uploaded a 10 minute video would be piled up on by the comment section. When you look at the massive amount of time Michael was gone (for what was seemingly meaningless content, although it was kind of funny), and the RU-vid landscape at the time, it's a little bit more understandable.
Friendship evolutions are not a problem for me, as long as I am able to play at the proper time of day for those Pokemon to evolve and keep them from fainting so their friendship does not lower. I was able to evolve Riolu into Lucario in Black 2 at around low to mid-level 20s
I used Roserade on my Platinum team (just a casual playthrough, not a Nuzlocke). But I caught it as a Budew on Route 204. Yes, it took a while to get a Roselia due to the friendship evolution mechanic, but I never regretted using it.
Did a Platinum Nuzlocke a year ago, and I ended up catching a Shiny Budew. I named her Sparkle, and added her to the team. Through several methods (poffins, massages, etc), she became Roselia fairly quickly. Friendship evolutions don't bother me much, and Sparkle the Roserade was entirely worth it. That girl was a sparkly monster.
Michael: I appreciate you, Gigawatt, for not dying to a Pokemon you have a 4x type advantage against. Gigawatt: *dies to Pokemon it has a 4x type advantage against*
Mikey: "Zubat and Golbat are super annoying and I hate them!" Also Mikey: (Gets depressed over the death of his beloved bat and makes the fans pissed by having them stare at nothing)
personally, for enjoyment of a playthru that achieves all the same goals (making the game harder and causing you to use mons you didn't before), play color specific runs, you pick a color and can only use mons of that color (judging by pokedex color)
Tauros is in the PUBL tier and hasn't been good since Generation I. Is yours even EV trained? IV bred? Hah. I doubt it. Meanwhile my Mega Alakazam has 252 EVs in Special Attack and Speed plus 4 in Defense, with 41 IVs across the board and a Timid nature. If my calculations are correct, a Focus Blast from your Tauros is a guaranteed OHKO. So that shall be my move. Alakazam, Focus Blast! Why do I even play this garbage game?
Listen, Crobat is an awesome pokemon, he wanted one and think about the terms in which you have to achieve to get at a Crobat.... He probably would've lost hope if he'd gotten it and it died..... But having a Golbat before it would be the awesome 4-winged bat it would become.... Having expectations only to have them knocked down like that..... Bye bye all hope.
We dont know that. He just says he left the room for the rest of the video and laid down out of depression, he could've been crying without knowing to.
I feel like the Pokemon people underestimate in a Nuzlocke is the one that becomes the MVP and survives until the end. The same thing happened in an Alpha Sapphire Nuzlocke I saw. He caught a Nincada early on and barely used it, but then it saved him in the league with Double Team and Baton Pass.
@@Rose-yx6jq Cuddles was in his party for only until the end of the dimesion realm to the end, Clutch was there since nearly the beginning and helped through a lot, plus Cuddles wouldn't be on the team if he put no Lengendary rules
Let me tell you the story about my Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke :- The start was great I didn't lose a single pokemon until reaching 3rd Gym but I lost my Machop due to poisoning. But things were great my team was kicking everything in thier way until an incident happened at Iron Island. While training my (Terraspin) the Torterra he missed a Razor Leaf on a Wild Graveler and that monster used Self-Destruct that move critted and my Torterra died. That was sad my starter died due to a stupid crit. But then I added a Budew to replace him I spend thousand of poke-dollars to increase it's friendship and somehow it also died. My cute Budew died. Bodies are starting to pile up in the Grave Box. But then I started grinding my team and they again they became really powerful but a mistake of my caused me another loss. While battling Cyrus at Veilstone HQ I made a stupid decision to put my (Starman) the Staraptor against Cyrus's Honchkrow and that mean thing landed a crit Drill Peck on my Staraptor and killed it. It was a tanky flying type and I lost it. 4 bodies in the box and now I'm mad. Then I decided that's enough I spendid to much time on grinding added a new flying member (Batman) the Zubat and evolved it to a Crobat. I also added a Snorunt and evolved it into a Froslass. I also caught Giratina with the Masterball. And somehow miraculously I managed to made it through the victory road without any loss. I catch up some nice TMs and battled my rival for the last time. And here I was with my team :- (Lux) the Luxray (Jaiden) the Gastrodon (Blade) the Gallade (Big Chill) the Froslass (Batman) the Crobat (Jurryrig) the Giratina. First member of the Elite Four :- Aaron was easy but his Scizor was a threat and none of my Pokemon was able to learn the move Flamethrower so my I send my Luxray to hit him as hard with the thunderbolt and that steelbug hung on 1-2 hp and killed my Luxray with a crit X-Scissors.(I am a stupid I should've send Giratina there.(My Electric Lion died ) So one loss 2nd Member of the Elite four :- Bertha was easy my Gastrodon and Gallade sweep through her team I'm glad I teach him Leaf Blade. 3rd member of the Elite Four :- Flint seems easy but if only you don't let him use the sunny day and his Houndoom landed a Sunny Day my Gastrodon killed it with earthquake but the next turn his Rapidash hit it with a quad effective Solarbeam and due to the sunny day that move hit at the first try boom(I lost my tankiest Pokemon the one who helped me with so many battles). But somehow I managed to pull through. Fourth member of the elite four :- Lucian doesn't seems a threat but his Psychic types are a pain and I lost my Luxray who knew Crunch. And I also did a stupid switch out mistake there and my Crobat died to Espeon's Psychic. (Batman died :'-_-': ). I then somehow defeat him with Gallade and Giratina. Now for the Champion Battle :- Cynthia awaits me there with her powerful bulkier and Nuzlocke ender Pokemons. And I'm with only three of my Pokemons left Gallade, Froslass and Giratina. I was worried and kinda sad. I started up with my Gallade to hit her Spiritomb with Leaf Blade cuz other two of my team member are weak to ghost type attacks surprisingly Gallade is also weak to Ghost type moves but he hung there and killed that Spiritomb with two Leaf Blades. Then she sent out her Togekiss and I sent out My Froslass I was happy that it's part Ghost type so it wouldn't get hurt by Aura Sphere but Air Slash has a high critical hit ratio and my Froslass hung in there and defeated it with two Ice Beams. Next she sent out her Lucario I thought I should send my Giratina but her Lucario knows Dragon Pulse so I sent in my Gallade healed him and landed a Close Combat Lucario is out. Then it was time for her Monster her ace Pokemon the "Garchomp" I was so afraid of him I knew from the beginning that this thing is the potential threat to end my Nuzlocke the only reason why I caught an Ice type is because I wanted to counter it then I searched up on my mobile to see his movesets and my eyes catches the attention of a google poppup that said Weavile and Froslass are good and faster pokemon to defeat her Garchomp I instantly sent my Froslass there used the Ice Beam and it one shotted that freak :). I can't believe all my hardwork really paid of. Hopes are rising again I may win this. Then she sent in her Milotic which my Gallade killed with two Leaf Blades. And her Roserade died to Ice Beam of my Froslass. I won my Platinum Nuzlocke in my first run :).
@Enderman I can answer that. You can choose between an emulator or a cartridge of a Pokémon game you own and apply the Nuzlocke Rules and any extra rules you want to make the nuzlocke easier or harder as you see fit. The rules are self-imposed, so do the run however you want.
Warrior Star actualy mines going fine. Then again i allowed myself to use as many items in battle as i can and i grinded a bit at Some points and allowing the use of max revives but still
"Why does anybody do these stupid Nuzlockes?!" That's very well sunmed up. Another thing: if one of your Pokemon fainting means they're dead, why doesn't that apply to recurring characters you battle like your rival? And yes, I know in Kanto, his Raticate dies and is buried in Pokemon Tower.
My first Nuzlocke I caught a Wurmple straight up. It stayed with me the whole game u til the final battle where it was my second last Pokémon. It was a rough time, but never underestimate a Wurmple
When JackSepticEye leaves his computer and doesn't edit it out: *haha funny moment, he just left it in lol* When MandJTV leaves his computer and doesn't edit it out: *this shall not be forgiven*
24:43 Bruh, starter deaths upset me so much that one of my house rules is that a dead starter means a failed run; I would rather start over than continue without it.
When I did my first nuzlock in Pokémon shield I lost leafy the grokey almost immediately in a max raid den against a hoot-hoot of all things. Clearly an idiotic choice if you ask me. I sent the next day catching a bunch of Pokémon. And made a bit more progress before calling it a day since I had school. I completely forgot about the nuzlock but this video reminded me of it. And btw no I haven’t continued with the nuzlock yet but I might
Brandon Nauth I cant remember the last time I watched a Nuzlocke in fairness. I do enjoy them still and have been tempted to do one for years but I’m not prepared for the PTSD that comes with it 😂
"I'll get over it..." "I HAVE NOT!" Me- **sobbing and crying at the same time** I've only done one Nuzlocke before and my starter made it all the way to the end. So I cannot imagine how much it hurts to lose your starter and I don't want to. But this was hilarious to me but also made me feel horrible for you.
@@booski.i I just like the idea that a person's connection with their starter is supposed to be their strongest connection. Like it's the Pokemon that took the first steps with you on your journey. It's the one you battled alongside with to catch more Pokemon. It's a loyal companion, perhaps even your most loyal. It's fine if not everyone feels the same way. But to me a starter is my most cherished partner through battles, trials, and tribulation. But that's just how it is for me you know? Especially when it comes to Nuzlockes where the stakes are higher. I'd be devastated to lose my starter, but I also wouldn't pc it because I feel like it should be the leader of the team until the bitter end, because a cherished partner sticks together with their cherished partner until the end.
@@contentbacon6555 Look guys this wasn't supposed to start a serious discussion. It wasn't supposed to get that deep X'D This all started off with a joke, so could we all lighten up a little haha. ^__^'
20:33 I feel your pain. I was doing a Nuzlocke of Omega Ruby and was about to go to the elite four. I had no super effective moves against Phoebe's ghost Pokemon other than Banette and Grumpig (I taught Grumpig shadow ball). So I prepare by buying protein and carbos (Which raise attack and speed stats of a Pokemon) to give to Banette. I also gave it Banettite so it could do even more damage. My plan was to sweep through her entire team. Everything goes well until she uses Sabelye, which lived on like 10HP from my shadow claw, and ended up killing it with foul play. It went downhill and I lost my Crobat as well from Dusknoir's thunder punch because I accidentally using a full restore on an Agron with full HP instead of switching into it. I went on only to lose to Steven's Metagross as his last Pokemon.
3:20 Some people play like that but not everyone. It just depends on how strict you wanna be with the rules, even when just starting. So if you decided that you lost the nuzlocke, you did. The only consistent nuzlocke rule is that the encounter rules don’t start until you get pokeballs.
The leaving the room thing was hilarious, I appreciated it. Made deaths seem like they had actual consequences. I can't believe you got hate comments I'm so sorry to hear that
#001 Everyone was young and incredibly stupid at the time. Just like how everyone gave TFS crap for using a Scyther instead of a Scizor in their Nuzlocke. SPOILER ALERT They won with the Scyther (Along with Empoleon and Alakazam) Since then some of the comments owned up to their crap and gave them props. The rest got scared off by the Scyther or Kirxia as they would name it.
If Budew evolves at max friendship, and you can find its evolved form on a later route, that means that you just caught a: another Pokémon’s best friend and took it away from them forever or b: you just caught a pokemon that an idiot trainer tossed away.
my Blaise the Typhlosion was the only alive pokemon i had after beating the league in my first nuzlocke. i hold him deep in my heart as if he was a real pet
"Some were so mad that they didn't get more content from me, that they unsubscribed" Dude, you made people rage-quit by rage-quitting. Thats hilarious. I never saw the video but i would've thought that was funny.
I can definitely relate to this- I was doing a Pokemon Sword Nuzlocke a few weeks ago and seriously all of Pokemon died and eventually since I loved them so much, I quit the Nuzlocke and continued the game normally so... I loved watching this though! :D
I think I remembered doing the same thing, only I played it more like a MegaTen game + Nuzlocke by having temporary members meant for specific gyms that would be boxed later. Shellos was meant to be my counter for Kabu and while it was a great one, it didn't quite make it to the end by dying from a critted Bug Bite from Centiskorch. I stopped shortly after his gym since I gave up looking for a good counter for Bea (even though I already had a Corvisquire) and just got bored. I eventually came back with more of just a standard themed team of musicians, including naming them all of famous musicians from the U.K. (Except Obstagoon since Gene Simmons is American), even my Grimmsnarl who isn't music based but got the best name, Cronos.
The fact that people were mad that he left half an episode blank, thats kinda mean. They are ignoring his connection with his pokemon, just for content. cmon people, got any emotions?
Jaiden nuzlocke on this: A split reality where she loses and realizing that trying to change the outcome will end up backfiring. Mandjtv: *haha cuddles go brrrrr*
she actually loses in her nuzlocke when she was doing it on twitch but her viewers told her to do it again which she uploaded on youtube and those alternate realities was her first try
On the off chance that you somehow see this comment, just standing up and walking away for half the video was hilarious. The people who got so upset that they unsubscribed (and especially the people who were mean in the comments) are dumb. It was a hilarious decision to leave it in. Stay awesome. You've deserved every bit of success that you've seen here on RU-vid. Your content is great.
Ludacris’ death probably was even more painful to him since it was the only one that he could have totally avoided, as all the others were lucky occurrences and crits
This is exactly why I don't do Nuzlockes. They are so frustrating, and they can cause me to despise an entire game because of one bad playthrough. This is similar to how Charriii5 hates most of the bosses in Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time because of his terrible playthrough.
in my casual platinum playthrough i had as a child i just oneshot everything with staraptor using return lmao (i stopped playing right before elite 4 and dont really want to ever finish it because it's my first ever pokemon game from when i was young. i want that playthrough to last forever)
Micheal: this is going to be a tough battle Fans: think he’s going to battle giritina Micheal: A fOoLiSh MiScAlCuAtIoN Edit: wow never got this many likes thanks to everyone 😊
Casually me checking the replies to make sure no one is hating on you for expressing gratitude for the amount of likes you got Like seriously why do people do that
Actually, if you have Pokemon in the Box, you can keep playing if you lose a battle. You just have to release all the Pokemon you had on your team and then start a MAJOR grind session getting a whole new team from the Box leveled up.
That's actually optional. Some people choose to play with the rule that if you lose all the pokemon on your team, you lose, even if you have pokemon in your box. I call these people "insane."
Again an optional rule which lots of people seem to think is compulsory, like the various dupe clauses or the nicknaming rule (genuinely annoys me when people list that alongside the actual compulsory one, especially when the streamer clearly does not want to but feels obliged to.)
Michael: "so I basically 1 hit ko all 4 elite 4. Cynthia will be easy" Cynthia: "oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?"
Too slow, too slow! Za Garchomp is the ultimate Pokemon. Even without it's ability to mega evolve, it's speed and power far exceed that of your Infernape Platinum.
Some Nuzlock advice: when you’re fighting a gym leader that you have a type advantage over, save that Pokémon for that leader’s ace. It’ll save you so many potions.
