It is a great DAP and delivers great R2R experience. The dac gets close to Denafrips Ares II. A bit weak in powering headphones but all else and the tuning options are great. When the screen sleeps tap twice on the screen and it wakes up.
@@nikolaygramchev I am running FiiO FA7 and FH1, both are a bit heavier on the bass side - will they be a poor fit for the RS2? I'm afraid the sound may get muddied as the RS2 is described often as being bass heavy.
Know what can't use the new Hiby RS2? These Airpods Pro V2 which I reviewed on the new channel.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gtZGFALSjek.html
Darwin inside means natural selection. Tracks are making out with each other to create new music. And music which you do not like dies and deletes itself.
The Hiby RS2 vs the new FiiO M11S would be a great comparison. Very different animals, but both are about 500 dollars. Looking to buy one to drive my HD660s.
That was what I was thinking about a while ago … then I thought the m11s is big … 660s is on sale ina Amazon says today :) … eventually I selected the Hiby.. vocals and instruments is great .. fast best music is not as great I find ..
I like the soundstage width feature but I'm also really charmed by the reviews of the original FiiO M11. So if a person was torn between a gently used Hiby RS2, a gently used Hiby R6 Gen iii, a gently used FiiO M11, or a brand-new Fiio R4, which one should he choose?
Thank you for the review. I own a Fiio M9 since 2019 and I'm thinking to replace due to some technical issues. Momentlmy checking the Fiio M11S and the Hiby RS2. Which ones the best of these 2 (sound mainly) Thankjs
EQ is frequency based. Power handling and load balancing is a super nuanced thing. Even if a Honda Civic with a turbo and a Lamborghini have the exact same power and weight they are not the same thing on the road.
hi man , i just got mine, do you also notice that to volume button is a bit loose ? Also when I shake it a little bit i can hear that something inside is a bit loose and it makes noises .. ? Also when charging the device looses about 70 percent of its processor - it slows down a lot. Is that a common problem or did i just got a bad piece ? thank a lot. Tomas not sure if its that good like you saing ;) sound maybe ...
I think you should get your hands on an LG v60. Ive heard you say usb dacs make them irrelevant but ive owned other flagships with otherwise better specs + usb dacs and its not a good way of doing things for reasons. Also having a separate DAP + a flagship smartphone isnt a good way of doing things either for reasons. I'd explain it in detail but that never convinces anyone, but if you just get a v60 and daily drive it for a week you'll get it. And if you dont get it, you could justify why. You gotta try it first though.
zeos why wouldn't you try to swap edition xs's headband with other hifimans? using ifi signature hfm cambo......BAM!!!!! best audiophile setup ever try it
i'm so stuck between this and the iBasso DX170. I'm all about sound quality (which is entirely subjective, I get it). That said, if anyone can gimme some input as to which (they think) has superior sound and why? I am using FiiO IEMs FA7 and FH1 (but that can change).
Kk cable makes a real nice one. It’s on Amazon. Edit: Looks like he’s using the NewFantasia one for half the price. To be honest though the KK adaptor, uses a Neutrik connector for the xlr, which just terminates so much better imo. If you can afford it that’s what I would recommend.
hi z! i have a moonriver 2, and a moto z2 force, i want something i can put in my pocket, go walk, and never worry of having my phone stolen, is this a good option?? can i trow it at the robbers?? no just kiddding, but i do want to know, is this more powerfull than my moonriver 2 on the 4.4??
z why do you want/like bluetooth? I am so confused anytime you mention bluetooth like how are you powering monster cans or getting studio reference audio through bluetoof
Stupid question, Bluetooth has nothing to do with the ability to power monster cans... Bluetooth is great, if you live in 2005, then I could say yeah, Bluetooth is bad... But we are in 2023, Bluetooth has evolved a lot, at a point I doubt you could tell a difference between Bluetooth and cables in a blind test...
@@joaoguilhermenextlevel302 are you sure? you're wearing razer headset in your pic aren't you? not only a headset but also razer 😷 idk if you are at z high audiophile level tbh :(
@@monkichiboi4003 the pic is from 2013 I don't like to take pictures... But tomorrow I will listen to the HE-1 I'm thrilled, and probably will use a pic with it as my new pic!
@@monkichiboi4003 and you are showing more signs of being a noob in audio than myself, as bluetooth doesn't power anything, an amplifier does, so you use Bluetooth to receive Audio from a source, then it goes to your dac and then to your amplifier...
not related to this video but, I've been messing with my anthem mrx 720 and I'm wondering what you think about Dolby Atmos/ overhead speakers when it comes to home theater? can't help but notice you've never had them setup
Hello, just got second device and after a month of use, again loose battery, noise when shaking the device. Creating playlists in this device is almost impossible. I have spent more time packing the device, sending it somewhere to China and communicating with hiby and other retailers than actually listening to it ... NEVER AGAIN ... Cowon was best. Tomas
I still don’t get the DAP ‘s ….you’ve got a phone …so I need another delicate and moderately expensive box …so it’ll make my IEM’s sound better …..what am I missing?
I‘d say you‘ve explained it quite good. Plus it doesnt drain your phones battery. Most can power Overear headphones too. And you can focus more on the music by not beeing interferred by Notifications from your phone
@@Armbrust210 true ..but I don’t have to import music onto a card and then worry about another piece of gear ..now Zeos was correct..it needs Bluetooth.
Don't need to worry about the SD card messing with your phone, don't need to worry about connection quality for streaming, music doesn't pause for notifications, don't need to worry about the radios introducing noise, actual dedicated buttons for playback controls... Some daps have Bluetooth in&out so you can use them with your phone or whatever. All that might not matter to you, tho. If it's not for you, it's not for you.
Cayin has R2R dac options for a couple of their daps... Problem being that the dac board alone costs as much as this hiby tho 💀 Waiting for them to drop a DAP with an R2R dac and tubes... Hopefully I'll win the lotto first so I can afford it 🤣
Hiby is a no go for me. Their devices come with horrible battery life. I don't know if it's bad Android implementation or just cheap components, but my R8 loses 10% of battery a day when it's off, and I know I'm not the only user with this problem. That's more than my phone loses per day. And I've read similar horror stories about their other models. The R8 delivers beautiful sound, and no mistake, but the battery issues are a major nuisance.
@@ZReviews Thanks! I have an A&K Kann Alpha that power them just fine at about 65% in normal mode. It’s pretty powerful but I want a smaller, more portable option to consider. The Kann Alpha is an amazing device especially when used balanced. I really don’t mind it not having BT. FTR……, I won’t be using it with the Atriums!
@@ZReviews I just used my IEMs: Moondrop Blessing 2 Dusk and Raptgo Hook X. I love R2R (Bifrost 2 multibit, EF400 R2R, and Cayin RU-6 is a great R2R dongle dac that is rich and warm). Maybe the Dac in the RS2 is good but the amp stage is dry. All I know is that the RS2 has piercing treble out of the box and MSEB is mandatory to make it sound listenable. Soundnews agreed with me so I know I'm not the only one who thought the treble was harsh, shrill, and dry. My Qudelix5k and Schiit Fulla were richer and warmer than the RS2 and they are delta sigma.
I bought this on Zeos' recommendation and got it yesterday. Was completely ready to dismiss your comments. Unfortunately, you are right: this thing sounds great except for certain elevated, harsh treble frequencies. Lorde's voice has never been more piercing or sibilant, and forget about older orchestral recordings. Just reached out to Linsoul about a return. Edit: I was listening on the Raptgo as well, Variations, and DCA Aeon X.
@@wengezhu1 Burn in is all well and good. I've definitely heard it make subtle differences. But this is pretty extreme, and also Linsoul's return window is short.
