I am So excited for you to have a new muse to design for!! Yes, Danny Choo ( sounds like chew, son of the Famous Jimmy Choo designer ). Definitely a silicone wig cap will help and I can show you some wig tricks!
Awwh so sweet Marna. Congrats with your new girl. May she bring you a lot of joy as mine brings to me..... Thanks for sharing your fun opening. Have fun and keep the sparkles on. Lovies Yetta💕
Thank you Yetta. ;-) I am still pretty excited, she has been her over a week, I think over 2. ;-) I have gotten used to pulling her parts apart and putting that wig back on. I wish it would stay better.
Danny originally wanted to make them to be robotic AI. There were videos on them but technologies not there yet . Danny is Jimmy Choo"s son the famous shoes designer. Those undies will fit underneath anything you make Heating up the body will soften to put the parts on. Squeezing the shoulder and neck you pull the arms on and off. I love my boy that I have. Now you have to buy the official clothes. Again the undies are meant to fit underneath clothes. My guy always has layers. Smart dolls if balanced right can stand alone. The stand can be hidden. They're great 1/3 scale dolls. They fit in most places. They are great for traveling with. Danny choo has many patterns too. You have to sew some jeans for her. It's the most fun to sew. There's a great video on sewing for smart dolls. You don't have to have a back opening for a smart doll. Always color test the fabric.
Thank you. I have already downloaded the Patterns from Danny Choo's Website. ;-) I have had my Smart Doll over a week now and am much more comfortable with her. I have been sewing more for her and really enjoy having her.
Woo Woo!! Congrats Marna! I'm glad she finally arrived ^_^ You're going to have so much fun discovering new patterns for Smart Doll! They're a joy to sew for. I was surprised to see she's got the Evolve frame (could tell by the feet pegs) She is a pretty new doll, I love the Evolve frame, very sturdy! 🥰
Thank you Beth. I was surprised she has that 'new doll' smell to her too. I guess I got a great deal after all. ;-) I finally figured out the Skirt Pattern for SDs (tweaked it enough) to use for Give Aways at PUDDLE and I am looking forward to meeting everyone there. Also. I bought a wig I thought would be for a Pullip Doll, it came with a silicone wig cap, red....fits and works well on my SD. I am so happy with it. ;-)
18 miles! Oh how exciting Marna! Congratulations! I’d be scared too lol! Very cool how she bends like that! I believe it is Choo (Chew) as in the designer. Ah yes our husband’s credit cards! Glad her feet finally went on! Well this isn’t as easy as it looks lol! Yes you’ll be pro by the third one! You’ll have so much fun sewing for her! 💚💙
This was recorded over a week ago. Yesterday and today, we rode over 41 miles on our bicycles. I am NOT giving into an E-Bike yet. I can still KICK IT, I just have to work up to the miles slower than I used to. I am loving my new Smart Doll, more than I thought I would!~
@@Equestrianmommywhen we rode our Tandems, when we would go through Road Crossings....I would lift my feet, look at the drivers and put my finger over my mouth.....like, shhhhhhh!~
I enjoyed watching ❤ and I heard you say 3rd one😂😂😂! I looked forward to seeing the creative endeavors from your Smart Dolls! Will there be shoes and handbands?!? I just love that you entered the Smart Doll World ❤❤❤ Welcome to the Party 🥳 🎉 😊
Thank You!~ I have had her a couple of weeks and still walk in, see her standing there, and think, "I got a Smart Doll!" I did not know I was going to like her as much as I do. ;-)
Congrats and welcome to the smarty family and you are right about her she is on the new frame that Danny has built 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 ps love the outfit so cute
Hi Marna! Congratulations 🎉🎉 Keith and I enjoyed watching you open your first smart doll! Your outfits are super cute. After a few tries the wigs are still a struggle. I do all the time. ✨💫✨
Thank you Irene. This doll, as you know, the clothing is so low cut, it takes some getting used to. However, being a teen in the 70s, this is how we wore our clothing, so???? I am getting it, just slowly (with sewing for her I mean).
HAHAHAH Thank you. ;-) She has been here a couple of weeks now, and I have been looking at another since....to be honest...BEFORE she arrived. ;-) There are two others I would LOVE to own.
Soo awesome, congratulations 🎊🎉 😊. It’s great that you both are soo active✨🌻. It’s Choo like ahhh-choo 😆. She is gorgeous Marna 😍🥰🫶. Thank you soo much for sharing her.
Congratulations on your first Smart Doll. She's absolutely gorgeous! I love what you've made already and I bet you'll really enjoy sewing more things for her 🪡🧵✂️👗🥰❤️
Congratulations !!! I love her name!!! You will be snipping and snapping in a minute!!! LOL YOU HAVE THE NEW EVOLVE FRAME! How exciting! It’s going to be fabulous seeing all of the styles you will create for her.✨😍✨
Thank you. Yes!~ I am excited about this doll. I have had her a couple of weeks now and am much more comfortable with her, and have been sewing more for her. ;-)
Very cute. I only collect 1/6 size & got tired of waiting for them to make the shorter pocket dolls. So I managed to find a head on eBay & paired it w/ a 30 cm bjd body. Glad I did cuz now they say the ‘pocket doll’ is gonna be 16”; still too tall for me. Yours is very sweet-congrats.😉
YOU are very smart!~ I should ONLY Collect smaller dolls. They sure take up less room. ;-) I am glad you were able to customize your doll just the way you wanted her.
thanks, took a little tricky maneuvering w/ashoelace to remove & replace the S hookvinside the head cuz of smaller hole, but she really turned out pretty neat. @@DollsRescued
Congrats on your first smartie Marna!😆 Shes a real cutie! 🥰Well done Deren for coming to the rescue with her feet. I was exactly the same as you with my first smartie thinking how small they were, as my first BJD was a 73cm resin boy every doll since as felt tiny 😆. I love you sewing for her before she even got home😆
Thank you Prince Yuri!~ I have had her a couple of weeks now and I am much more comfortable with her now. I think you and I are among the VERY few that thought the SDs were smaller when we opened them. She is build so different from other dolls, but I love tweaking patterns, so she has been fun.
@@DollsRescued Your welcome, I'm glad you've gotten more used to her, they do handle quite differently than other dolls😆. I really do think we are in the minority there🤣😆. Cant wait to see what you sew for her I always love seeing what youve been working on😄
@@princeyuriandhisdolls I am working on a simple Skirt Pattern that is cute, but I do not have a time of time into.... I want to have 'hand outs' for Smart Dolls too. We are also working on something to put with the Skirts. For the Blythes and Pullips we add Shoes..... today Deron 3D Printed a Mug. It is cute..... but I am still thinking.
I am just so excited for you!! And have been waiting in eager anticipation for this video!! 😍 She is lovely!! I’m sure she will have an amazing wardrobe soon!! Love her!! I’m always looking at smart dolls, but have never hit that pay button!! Someday though!! 😂
THANK YOU HOLLY!~ I really like this doll, even more than I thought I would. I have been far to busy to REALLY sew for her, but here and there I have been working on items for her. I have been back on the SD Website too...... but have not hit the pay button. Maybe.
Thank you. I think I have one Skirt Pattern about where I want it for the Smart Dolls. Cute, but not too much time in them for hand outs at Doll Shows. ie. I am loving this doll and having fun with her. ;-)
Congratulations on your new smart doll, Marna! It's heartwarming to see your excitement shining through as you unbox and assemble her. Your attention to detail in making clothes for her is impressive. Enjoy your creative journey with Genia! 💫
I so happy you finally got a smart doll ☺️. I don’t know if you remember me but my husband and I were in hobby lobby and we had our smart doll with us. You and your husband were so nice to us. Mr. clean magical eraser is what gets the scuffs off your smart doll. 💜
OF COURSE I REMEMBER YOU!~ I was thinking of you the other day....YOURS was the first Smart Doll I ever saw in 'person'. ;-) Do you know about, and are you going to PUDDLE in Chicago in June? I have not been before, but I have heard, more than once, that Blythe and Smart Dools "have taken over". Deron and I are planing to go. I am working on Skirt for Smart Dolls as give aways. PUDDLE has a website.
Congratulations - you must be delighted. I think having a doll this big would freak me out a bit, I was bad enough when I got my Ellowyne Wilde doll, also I think you never really know how big a doll s going to be until you actually have one, no matter how many other unboxings you see. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with Genia.
Congratulations on you first Smartie!!! I remember when I got a body and it came unassembled and it freaked me out lol So I completely understand! The wigs are a challenge getting on. Check out Dannys videos on wigs♥️♥️♥️ I am so happy for you Sweetiepie ♥️♥️♥️if you ever need help I am here!♥️
THANK YOU! I appreciate that offer of help. ;-) I did change out her wig, I used a silicone wig cap under it and love it. I am now waiting on my 2nd Smart Doll to show up in my Mailbox.
@@DollsRescued thats so awesome Sweetiepie! so glad you got it on! I am so excited for you!!!🎉🎉🎉 Are you keeping it a secret who are getting? Also anytime! Hugs♥️♥️♥️
Typical that Deron got the feet on straight away 😂 I use my Darrens credit card too 😂 Congrats 🥳 She’s lovely. It took me ages to get my wig on also. There’s a knack to it. You will make her some beautiful clothes ❤
Thank you Gaynor. You and I are So Blessed with our Darren/Deron's. I have had my Smart Doll over a week now and have gotten pretty used to her, and REALLY like her. ;-)
Congratulations on your Smart Doll. I’m sure you will have fun with her. I sometimes find it a bit annoying that their elbow joints sometimes come out and you have to push them back in, and sometimes I feel like their heads are a bit small, but otherwise I’m glad I have one, although I do sometimes think of selling her! Lol. I notice you said “your first” in the way that means you hope to get more. 😂 another slippery slope? 😆😁
Thank you Lorraine. ;-) I really like this Smart Doll, much more than I thought I would. This wig though. I can get it on well, tight, right, but it comes back off so easily.
Oh wow, super exciting! Congrats on your new smart doll! That bustier top you made is really cute. I got very excited when you held up that hankerchief as a consideration for a skirt...do you have a video tutorial for that (I have a bunch of embroidered/printed hankerchiefs that I collect)? Hello, Genia 👋💗
Thank you. ;-) I am really enjoying this Smart Doll and sewing for her. I saw your note where you found that Tutorial I had done a while back. Those Skirts are really easy. ;-) Start with a square of fabric, so that you have a bit of practice before your nice Handkerchiefs.
Awe glad I found your first Smart Doll video. I thought you've been collecting them a lot longer than this. Im pretty sure I won't have as many as you have in 5 months, lol. I plan on getting one of each of the human skin tones. Then maybe an alternate color or two. 😂
😂 took u long enough to join in on the smarty fun. Enjoy your girls. I've been wanting one for a few years now but sadly no finances to speak. It's chew and shoe designer Jimmy is Danny's Dad
You might have to get a silicone cap if it is not staying on or it might be one of the new wigs and it might take a while for it to stretch out @@DollsRescued
They have to wigs so that a person can change the look of the doll. She comes all apart and you can change her face, breasts, hair..... These are really fun dolls.
