In January I went on a trip to Spain by myself for a few days. It was really out of my comfort zone because I've never traveled by myself before...well, I have, but not abroad in a brand new place where I know no one. I decided to take the plunge and go for it. I went to Madrid, toledo (a beautiful ancient city an hour away), ate a lot of yummy vegan food, shopped, explored tourist attractions, practiced my broken Spanish, and also an honest talk about how to keep yourself safe... because I didn't have the best experience on the first day :/ Also a real talk about my feelings about being alone, being overwhelmed, dealing with nervous feelings, etc.
Overall this trip truly helped me grow as a person, and I definitely recommend anyone to do it if they can. Even if it's just a weekend away!! I know I'll be doing it again :) I loved spain and want to go back.
