I have now stayed at both dockside and surfside. I enjoyed both the same. For the cost and amenities they are hard to beat. I am also like you they offered me the first floor but I wanted higher and I received room 2902 so most of the views you showed were great memories. THANK YOU 😊
I completely agree. I enjoy both - it will always just be about the better deal for me! The amenities are great at either resort. And so glad this brought back some great memories for you!
As much as I love Disney ... I must admit that the Universal hotels are looking way better, the rooms always look much bigger and brighter, the whole resort usually looks brighter and just a chill vibe to them, really. Now this is obviously only from what I 'know' from watching vlogs, but the Disney prices are always ca-raaaazyyyyyy and the Universal ones seem to always be a better value. I loved the look of this hotel! Very beachy and summery, they did that name justice LOL
Yeahhhh Universal is definitely slaying the hotel game! I absolutely love them. It's very hard for me to imagine ever staying at a Disney value resort again, after seeing what Universal offers. I still love the Disney moderate/deluxe resorts and would love to stay at many of them in the future, but Disney keep stripping perks!
@@DiscoLiz Disney really needs to get rid of Bob Chapek! He is digging the company's grave. I truly hate that man. and I'm not even sorry about it :-p We will be staying at Pop Century, so I'm curious to see how it will be. It just made more sense to stay on property for us this trip as it will be just a short WDW trip and with the skyliner and all that, makes it just a bit easier and cheaper without having to pay for a rental and parking everyday. But maybe in the future, you never know :-)
Oh! Love the hangers by the mirror. Perfect for bags, damp clothes, a hoodie etc :) Nice zero entry pool, and its defo a fish :P The room is very similar to Cabanas Standard rooms except maybe theyre slightly smaller than cabana?
When you book your room, you will have the option of a standard view vs a pool view, if there are pool views still available. The pool view does cost extra! Otherwise, you can request a "high floor" when you book, and it's a little bit more up to chance whether or not they are able to accommodate.
After spending 5 days at UOR last week, I'm having some serious withdrawals right now haha. So even though we've never set foot at Endless Summer, this video is soothing me.
I just booked my week at Surfside, for June. Such a pretty hotel, can’t wait. Question if you don’t mind me asking, what camera are you using, to film? Cause I’m looking to upgrade my camera for my trip.
@@DiscoLiz Thanks, I have one last question. Idk if you have a video explaining it, but I heard that if you stay on site at One of Universals Resorts any items you purchase at the parks can be sent back to your hotel. I’m Trying to find out how that works but seems no RU-vid videos talk about it.
This is up to personal preference, but if you're comfortable using ride-share apps like Uber or Lyft, you can easily get a car from MCO to the resorts. Universal does offer a shuttle for a fee - I would check their website for pricing and more information for that!
@@DiscoLiz I’ve never used Uber or Lyft but just downloaded the app. Seems pretty straightforward. I’m guessing that if we are 2 or 3 people that can fit in the car that we are not charged per person but just the rate that is shown on the app for the one way trip. I just just checked and this transportation option is probably the least expensive
Haven't stayed at this one yet. I stayed at Dockside last year in May and I'm booked there for my HHN trip. I'm going on a smaller budget this year and wanted to least expensive resort. If I'm able and willing to spend more I will go to Aventura because I like being let off in CityWalk.
I really don't know which one I would pick - probably all just depends on price. I loved both! I like that you can still walk from Aventura - big fan of not having to do the buses if you don't want to!
Honestly, never heard a single cheerleader! The ones on my floor were very well behaved and considerate! I did hear a couple other children having tantrums or meltdowns from vacation exhaustion, but overall - the cheerleaders were out of the room the majority of the time I believe. I wouldn't let it concern you!
I think I show how close I-Drive is at some point in this video, but this all depends on which portion interests you. The hotel is located ON I-Drive, but it's very close to Universal... and a bit more of a hike from the restaurants/attractions further south on I-Drive. So it's all relative to what you're willing to walk! There's a CVS very close to this, which will have your basic needs.
I’m glad I watched your video, because our travel agent convinced us to cancel Cabana bay reservations for this one, and we were afraid it was going to be a downgrade; Doesn’t seem like it at all.
Niiiiice! I definitely don't think it's a downgrade at all. They're different resorts with a different feel to them, but I actually think the standard rooms at Surfside and Dockside are a bit nicer than the ones at Cabana Bay. I LOVE the theming and resort of Cabana, but the new resorts offer a ton of great stuff!
I believe there is a microwave in the restaurant area, since they have some grab and go breakfast items. But I can’t say for sure! I wasn’t looking for one!
No full kitchen in any of the resorts (aside from maybe the top level suite). However, Cabana and Endless Summer have family suites that include a sink, slightly larger fridge, and a microwave. I have a video of the Sapphire Suite at Sapphire Falls - it includes two bathrooms, but no kitchen!
