I would say don't make a complete decision before driving DB12, both the SF90 / 296GTB and DB12 are amazing cars, take test drive of both these cars because have the access to these, DB may change your mind but otherwise Ferrari is a Ferrari at the end of the day and in the long run it will give you more return as a investment over the Aston as well (that's what I think) All the Very Best Brother!

The 296, name is like a homage for ferrari ‘dino’. The 29 comes from 2900 cc and 6 comes from 6 cylinder engine. The homage because ferrari dino was the first 6 cylinder engine by ferrari ( if i am not mistaken ) Similarly, ferrari have named the engine in the 296 as picolo v12 ( mini v12 )

296 GTB was earlier going to be 306 GTB but I guess Volkswagen or some other had 306 patented. 306 GTB = 3 Litre V6 engine Grand Tourismo Berlinetta. They couldn't get the 306 so it is 296 which denotes 2.9 litre V6.
