No name for her yet? I'd go with "LISA" . Land (for all the hiking and bank fishing), Ice, Sea, and Air (for the killer aerial drone shots you give us!) And I'd definitely cut off those bolts and enclose the nuts that are there. You could crack a skull with those things!
If you plan on spending nights on your boat, get a proper anchor! The one you have is a travesty and should be pulled of the market! Stay safe Becca.😀😀🐾🐾🇨🇦❤️
I’m sure you are doing your homework but please remember that your safety is most important. Don’t feel the need to rush into dangerous or overly risky situations with the boat (or in general) just to push out content. It’s OK to take your time to learn and feel comfortable with whatever you’re doing bc we’ll still be along for the ride with you. I love your adventurous spirit but stay safe. Truck camping had more human dangers but anything out on the water can obviously pose entirely different dangers and challenges.
thank goodness that 'at sea' turned out to be within swimming distance to shore and no wind or chop made up to fight that dinky motor. coast guard had a good nights sleep.
You should carry 3 anchors. 2 heavy (20+ lbs) with several feet of chain. And a lighter one to help hold over a specific spot like a brushpile or whatever. Very important to have enough anchor. Love your channel. Can't wait to see you sailing to Bermuda.
It's not a 40 footer mate 0:12 she be lucky to keep 2 anchors on that little yacht , just a sand anchor and mabe a fisherman's anchor might have to put a big bracket on front have one eather side but a sand anchor should be fine because off limited space , remember chain is the length off the boat the rest is rope 😉
Epic #boatlife ⚓ From memory it's usually depth X 3 = anchor line length. make sure there's enough chain to hold it down and the anchor is big enough for the boat.
Regarding deploying an anchor...check out "scope of an anchor line" as a reference to how much extra to deploy, after confirming the depth of the water (at high tide). Also the proper anchor designed for the bottom (mud, shell, sand, rocky, etc.) is really important.
Sup Becca, so cool and peaceful, it floats🥳. I would have 2 of those anchors, 1 each side and longer rope lol, tacos looked great, I seriously have never had avocados lol🤭. Can have couple people overnight, looks like room? Hope engine gets going, can't wait for next adventure 🤙, ty tc
I just started watching you about seven episodes ago. I give you big props! I would have never bought a boat and went out on the water by myself. You are a brave girl!
Please! Deep six that anchor and get yourself one that is rated for your boat size and weight. These are two separate parameters when buying a boat anchor! Any good marine supply store will know what is needed for your boat. Buy some new lines also. Know what you are depending your life with Becca. If you have the lines from the previous owner, replace them. I don’t care nor should you, about how new they are.😀🐾🐾🇨🇦❤️
you have one of the happiest channels on youtube. i don't understand why it hasn't a million subs. you tell them googans they need to draw some attention to your channel, asap! if they won't do it, tell them i won't send them christmas cards this year
Great vid as usual! I love how your proving the haters wrong and making money doing it! Keep going, never give up. I work at a wood mill and would love to do what I love for a living.
@@beccayaseen most definitely i totally didnt expect this Becca if you ever decide to head to alberta Canada we should totally do a fishing and camping adventure I got a boat and a truck like ures also I could drive across the border but I'm so not familiar with the US
I live on an island and there are a lot of sailboats here, all of them sleep in the V-birth with their feet at the bow. That might be a bit more comfortable for you. I do love your adventures, cooking, fishing and friends. Take care and be safe.
Omg I love Porgies. We camp at Weekapaug in RI. RIMS, you so should join! My 8 year old watches you now that I showed him your videos.... I don't fish but I eat the ones my husband and kiddo catch. We just got a boat and naming her Porgy Pirate per my son 😂
This is totally something I would do! Good for you! Have you seen Peter Srpol’s Infinite Boat video? Your boat is a fantastic candidate for a solar boat. You’re already halfway there! Tiny Boat Nation sells an add on for any trolling motor that’ll make it remote/gps controlled, too.
Becca,, I've been waiting for this one.. JOB WELL DONE.... If only other people would actually get out and do the things "YOUR DOING'' or what they THINK about doing, they would be so much more at peace with themselves.. I totally enjoy your enthusiasm and get er done attitude. SO POSITIVE ,,GOOD FOR YOU.. Cant wait for the next one... PEACE PRAYERS LOVE.....
Nice! You need a Jackery solar powered generator and a fish finder. I have a 1000w with 2 100w panels. Use it for home, camping, and boat. It will allow you to charge marine battery to... :)
Sailed a boat like that to Catalina Island with my girlfriend and got married overlooking Avalon harbor (1975.) We were both 21 and eloping. The taxi-driver was a witness. That night we had a Northeaster (a nasty local windstorm.) There were breakers down in the harbor. I worried about our little boat out there on her mooring, but decided it wouldn't do to leave the hotel and my honeymoon bed. I must have made the right decision because we're still married. Now we live on a 40' sailboat and still go to Catalina Island. It isn't half as much fun though.
That still doesn't change the fact that there are 49million kangaroos in Australia and 3.5million people in Uruguay which means if the kangaroos were to invade Uruguay each person will have to fight 14 kangaroos.
That anchor looks a little lame however it would work way better if it was hooked to a 3/4” chain as long as your boat. This will hold your anchor to the bottom instead of lifting it up off the sea floor.
Hey Kiddo, how did you sleep, I know sometimes on the yak when I am tired from late night prep and early morning launch I doze off in my kayak seat, so the water makes for a relaxing sleep if its not tooooo rough. I'm going to shout you out on my channel when I do a review on a mora knife. I finally got my Drone License so I'm an official pilot now. I will be able to use Drone Footage to enhance my little videos. Maybe one day before I kick the bucket Ill reach the 51.K subs like you. Keep up the great work, and continue to be an inspiration. Remember That Norman invite is always open when your down this way. Would love to fish with ya and just share the experience and the adventure.
OMG the minute you dropped that tinny anchor with enough rope to just hit the bottom, I was AAAAAAAAAAAA what tide is it. I know I mentioned when you got this boat get a good anchor and plenty of rope. I'm all about safety so don't think I'm being mean I don't won't to see anything bad happen, I grown up around boats, so I want to see you have a safe enjoyable time. Love you are changing it up.
Life jacket? You don't use them? Ever? We love your videos. a At least have a couple of life jackets in the boat. Now, off of my soap box. Love all the things you do. Love the boat.
Hi Becca, I just found u, awesome to have more sisters doing YT ,outdoor and boating vlogs. Love my fishing, love my boats, love camping and love my Woman. Thanks Becca I've subscribed and ur stuck with us now 🇦🇺🌈😲💜💙💚💛❤
HI, if you tie an additional line to the aft cleat on the dock side of the boat as well as the bow cleat line. it wont ever turn sideways on you from current or wind. God Bless ya for getting out and doing it.
The screw heads use a Dremel to grind them down. And for decorating I would have a sticker wall . for the places that you go get a sticker for it . Or labels that people signed. I did this for my camper and I love the looking back and remember. One was off a bottle of wine and there's the people who helped drink it signed it. All I can say is I miss a few of them.
You did great! Get you a anchor that digs into the ground, add about 2 ft of chain then the rope....that helps it dig in and hold solid. Greetings from Corpus Christi Texas!
The weather can change in an instant when at anchor. If it changes at night while you are asleep. That anchor will not hold you and your boat will be on the rocks. I don’t think your trolling motor is up to the job of getting you out of sketchy windy situations.😀🐾🇨🇦
Very cool. A guy I used to work with started doing the boat camping lifestyle earlier this year and he's about to take his maiden voyage to the Azores from Massachusetts.
I can't congratulate you enough!! What an awesome 1st time out in her/him lol awesome catch and can't wait for more videos! PS. I'm always anxious for new vids but take your time! We can surely wait!! That sounded gay but whatever....
it’s so hard to camp and edit .. my window to be able to camp and edit is so slim! i wish I had more time in the day to edit. but one day i’ll get a better schedule down for sure. :)
Dude your killing it! Keep it up! I love watching you!!!!! Your sponsorship shows it!! You've inspired me to fish more!! I buy googen bates here in guntersville, but still struggling to get my 1st large mouth. I'll get there thanks to you!!! You make it look easy lol and I love it! Your an inspiration please don't stop what your doing, but do it for YOU not me!! Again I sound rather gay: not beers in me lmao
Becca, after watching your adventure on your little sailboat, I bought a 17ft sailboat and getting ready to do the great loop. Thank you for the inspiration.
Your anchor isn't the best, if you drop off the bow the wind won't dragón you so bad. Also can make an anchor with a can an u bolt and some cement. U also need to let out enough rope to keep on bottom about 45 degrees
Awesome video ! Can't wait to see what you have planned next. *** Does your boat have a name from the previous owner ? If so what is it and if not what are u going to name it and why did u choose the name ???
I'm a bit late to the party (like, a month), but daaam, did this ever take me back to the first time I slept overnight in my sailboat. It was -and always will be-a magical thing. The gentle motion of the boat, the sounds of waves lapping against the hull, the cozy warmth of the cabin....all those things combine to create nature's Ultimate Lullaby. Sleeping on land is dull by comparison (a'ight, sleeping by a campfire rates, ain't gonna lie 🖤😆), and it was awesome to watch you discover these things.

I'd Love 😘 you're videos an you Beaca how wonderful Beautiful Woman person you are . How about that you have a ⛵😊 Boat now how grate wonderful something like that wow OMG WOW .this video is wonderful Beautiful lady
I am so happy you are using other sponsors . You are an incredible woman and you deserve everything that comes along with having a good size RU-vid channel. You can still be Loyal to the Googans while using other sponsors. I actually emailed Decked for you and politely let them know they had their product in every fishing channel on RU-vid and they were missing out on having a awesome channel to work with and let's face it you could use a Deck system. I'm so proud of you. You deserve everything you get. great Job. sorry so long I'm just excited for you.
I can’t even express or explain with words how much this comment meant to me. it’s crazy how much sponsors are willing to help creators and this one helped me a TON! thank you so so much for your kind words. i hope you have an awesome day :)
Great job Becca!!💗 Now you know what all you need to do and get before the next "cruise". We all want you to be safe and go slowly because we will stay with you and look forward to being along for the ride. I see several have addressed the anchor situation so hopefully that won't happen again. Looking forward to your next trip. Love ya girl..
A good rule of thumb is that the length of the line should be at least seven to ten times the depth of the water where you are setting anchor. Since an anchor can be a safety device in an emergency situation, store the anchor and its lines in an accessible area.
Lol brah u supposed to leave 7 ft for every ft of depth ur in ectra. It's called a "scope". So don't make it go straight down leave out slack. And make sure u got at least 100yards of anchor with chain. Aloha
Hello Becca happy fishing Wednesday night is that a metal iron jig bait I use metal jigs and metal iorns when I go pier fishing they work great 👍🏼🎣 I love how the boat tuern out it's so beautiful there were you are I love the ocean 🌊
Nothing better than to watch your video in the mist of this hurricane here in Florida. At least it will take my focus off of it.. So cool wish I was there now. So Happy for you like always stay safe.
@@beccayaseen thank you were are trying. Half of my mom gate earlier when we could see came down now it's too dark. Electric wants to go out but hanging on. Thanks for your concern...
Please make an actual door instead of those wood planks!..That would drive me insane, and what happens if you need to get out of there quick? Looks like fun!
Well you should have a bigger anchor and more rode "length" preferably with at least 30 foot of chain then rope. You can prob get one used pretty cheap. Maybe a rear anchor too
Have you tried to turn the last board of the door around to where the lock is on the inside to lock from the inside for extra safety ???? Ooops little after didn’t see the lock on the inside tell afterwards !!!!
Becca, love the sailboat. Yep, sailboating is a whole different world from tent camping. Safety concerns are foremost important, then comfortable will follow. Now you're new to this and forming the right habits are key. Your three wooden cubby planks...always 100% secure them inside your cabin area. Trust me things have a way of jumping out of your sailboat completely on their own. I'd get a second set of them cut and stored on-board in case one or more is lost as a backup plan. Pots on stoves...and waves don't mix. Even waves from other boats can knock pots off balance. Been there, done that. Put a nonstick pad under your stove and always use it. When cooking inside mae have a small rail of wood to sit your stove in. Doesn't have to be deep, just enough as a nonskid barrier from waves and certainly any rainstorm activity from pop-up storms. Cook near the cubby entrance for needed ventilation. Those screws...get round screw caps for the ends until you can find some other options for them. The hull's bottom...great to know it is float worthy. Ask at a full-on marina about having the underside (bottom from the waterline down) painted with copper paint. Important way to protect it from both damage and from barnacles damage. We had our sailboat copper painted and were a thousand times glad we did. It really cuts down on future repairs that can happen quickly in an area you don't see often if you're going to be mooring it or putting it in a marina slip anytime soon. So many things to learn and consider buying but please get a good, powerful spotlight and powerful horn mounted soon. Light and sound is your best friend out there, especially at night! Side bumper throws (2 each side). I'll stop there for now but those items instantly came to mind from my own sailing days. Seriously, whatever is in your cockpit can find its way out in zero time if it's on one of your bench seats 👌👍. What's important is that you're safe, then your items on-board and then comfort. I'm so HAPPY FOR YOU and want you to be able to form your safety habits quickly ❤. If I'm Mothering, well, you're like my little RU-vid granddaughters, 😆, you and Lila. Love ya both bunches, watching your videos is always a highlight of my day.
You can totally fill that full of wool and/or down blankets. And I bet you could even get a heated blanket that would work with your new power station.
