Culvers is TOP tier, my friend... not sure what happened on this visit. And why'd it take you over a year to try it? Lol and their Cod and Walleye fish sandwiches are the BEST in fast food. Not even close. :) and lastly. Their Root Beer is amazing! Only place I ever order root beer

@@oldnerdreviews Yeah that Single burger with no Cheese is Sad, Try a double cheese burger, better meat to bun ratio, and if you want make it the Deluxe and get the onion rings with ranch, I believe you will have a better experience with Culvers.

@@oldnerdreviews I don't know. I don't have a Sonic near me and have never ate any of their food, and if you get the onion rings right out of the fryer which they should be because they are made to order. They are really good in my opinion

Also, you gotta get the Deluxe Burger. I never get the regular single butter burger. Plus, the Deluxe fills you up a lot more.

With the way prices are lately at ALL fast food places, it’s not surprising that a combo consisting of a basic burger, medium fries, and a medium soft drink would add up to $8.00. If you want a burger combo containing a more “premium” type burger, you gotta be ready to pay $10-$12, minimum. That’s how much a medium Quarter Pounder with cheese meal is at my local McDonald’s here in central New Jersey. I believe Culver’s has options for better burgers on their menu, I’ve only been there a few times in my travels, so I’m no Culver’s expert. I love their fried cheese curds!

The secret at Culver’s is to order the kid’s meal. You get a hamburger/cheeseburger, small fries, small drink, and a scoop of custard for much cheaper, and the burger is the same size as the single you got. Also, adding cheese to the burger gives it a little creaminess and salt. Try the cheese curds sometime as well!

Wisconsinite here. I'll tell you how to do Culvers right. You order the kids meal. It's like $6 and you get the butter burger, a smaller order of fries (but plenty), a smaller drink (but they offer free refills), and a scoop of custard (either the flavor of the day or a standard flavor with one topping). You can get a cheese burger, chicken tenders, and a few other options instead of the butter burger, if you want. Also, to get the lettuce and tomato, you ask for "everything" instead of "the works". To be honest, it works best just to tell them specifically what you want on the burger.

Yeah the burger does taste just ok for the price it is and I had the same experience with the fries not enough salt. White Castle burger is fair and it definitely taste better than the frozen ones from the grocery stories.

Culver's is a Midwestern thing. I think your burger needed some bacon and cheese. Then it would have been better. Also, you should try their cheese curds.

You need to order the Deluxe burger with onion rings and cheese curds. I think you’ll have a better opinion. Culver’s is excellent.

I can't believe you came out with this video at just the right time, lol. A Culver's opened up here in NC where I live, and I was just about to head there, and then I saw your review. I then decided to do a little recon. I looked at the reviews, and some co-workers said pretty much the same thing you did. The Old Nerd Reviews same me again

Sorry you had a bad experience but you have to go back. Like others have said, for fast food Culvers is top notch. Next time get the double deluxe burger with cheese with the works. Their fish sandwich is the best in fat food also. Just FYI the butter burger has nothing to do with the bun, they grill the burgers in burger on the flattop griddle. Love the videos!

Wrong # FYI the butter burger has nothing to do with the bun .... WRONG !!!... They put butter on the BUN and then GRILL IT, Watch The Story Of Culvers From 1:43-1:53. And also # double deluxe with cheese with the works, It's either one or the other... Deluxe or with the works. And I Guess you meant burgers in BUTTER !!!

That sucks your first visit didn’t go so well. I’ve always wanted to try Culver’s and I know from friends that they are really good. Closest ones we have in the Northwest are in Boise. A six hour drive.

Great Review. I see lots of commercials for Culvers on t.v all the time and it looks like their food is overhyped. Another place I had recently that I was not crazy about was Five Guys. I felt like the burger was just barely o.k.

Other than that custard - that place looks pretty "meh" to me as well. The burger looks like it should only cost 2 bucks.. Never heard of it either and Ive' lived on both coasts.

Culver's is great and has been a midwest staple for decades. By the way there is a huge country in between the coasts if you didn't realize that. Prices on all fast food has increased over the last few year so Culver's is within the ballpark for most competitors. By the way, if you want a better experience at Culver's you need to order the Deluxe burger, that comes with everything on it.

He didn't say "it totally sucked". He did like the custard, root beer, and enjoyed the fries. He did say they didn't add enough stuff in the burger. I would say the price sucked for what you get.

I mean, look at the burger. When he lifts it up at about 5:30 there's almost no condiments at all, and that burger doesn't look juicy fresh. They legit didn't prepare it properly and he even commented that the burger was dry, and for being a butter burger (which they butter both insides of the buns) it's not looking particular moist. He event comments on it. Culver's just dropped the ball on this burger. You can literally see it .

It looked pretty disappointing to me. I have been to Culvers a few times and thought it was good, but it has been a while. And fast food joints other than some places like CFA can be pretty inconsistent in quality and freshness. I would have expected a little more care for an order they knew was for a reviewer! (or maybe the burger boy knows OldNerd 🤣)

I'm super disappointed in this experience for you Tony, as I freaking LOVE Culver's and travel ~2.2hrs from Pittsburgh into Ohio JUST for some Culver's action (after we've hiked the local park and did some urban exploring of course! lol). Everyone thinks the miss and I are crazy for doing so, but it's JUST THAT good...I hope you get another hankering to try it and it's everything it should be.
