My FIRST TIME HEARING! | BABYMETAL - Death Legend 1997 (REACTION!!) 

Haha, that was some jump from Gimme Chocolate to BABYMETAL Death. There is a translation for the opening video (they often play a little something like that before some songs) which helps to explain a bit more about what was going on: "Opening Translation: Legend 1997. (referring to the year of Su's birth) It is told that receiving the legendary neck brace from the god of Metal, she shall abandon her human life and be reborn as a goddess. The bloodline which has been passed down from ancient times is destined to be the guide, boarding the ark of time. The apocalypse is prophesied DOOMSDAY comes There remains... little time.." So Su-metal was sacrificing her human life and existence as a Jpop Idol to be reborn as a Metal Goddess ... and what better way is there to celebrate your 16th birthday than to be crucified on stage by your 14 year old friends while 8 or 9,000 people jump up and down screaming 'death death death death death death' and a statue that looks a bit like (but isn't - or it may be, who knows) the virgin Mary is decapitated behind you. It was the finale for this show, but BABYMETAL Death was most often used as the opening number for their shows as it is really an introduction. The lyrics are few and simple. The audience spells out B-A-B-Y-M-E-T-A-L and then the girls introduce themselves with "SU-metal desu", "Yuimetal desu", "Moametal desu", "BABYMETAL desu" and everybody chants death death death ... Desu (the U is silent) is a Japanese word meaning 'to be, I am, you are, we are' etc but it sounds like the English word death - so they use it of course as that sounds metal and they love a pun, but really all they are saying is "I am Su-metal" etc. Next song ... there are so many to choose from and they're all great. maybe 'Headbanger' also live at Legend 1997, 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' at Sonisphere in the UK 2014 or pretty much pick any of their songs, they will all surprise you in one way or another.

The band is Babymetal. The song is 'Babymetal Death'. The concert is Legend of 1997. The Legend of 1997 is Suzuka Nakamoto their lead singer. 1997 was the year she was born. Earlier in the concert she did a cover of a song that was made in 1997 :) This concert is for her 16th Birthday. It's a legendary concert in Babymetal Lore. They were set to play at a small side-stage at the festival for 5.000 people, but when a headliner at the festival cancelled at the last minute, just before Babymetal were to go on stage, they were moved on to the main stage, to perform in front of 5.000 fans and 50.000 hardcore metalheads who had just found out that the band they'd paid to see was replaced by three little girls from Japan that practically nobody had heard of. This song is the last song in their set so you can see how the concert went. Enjoy.

This specific performance was done for Su Metal's birthday gift .. It was representing her being sacrificed and resurrecting as a Goddess. The guitarist you spoke of that died is in this video. Mikio Fujioka (ME-KEY-O). You can always tell who he is because he is the shortest one and always a happy look on his face. He is the main guitar in this vid. The "Dee Dee Dee Dee" during the sacrifice is him. I have just recently came across them during this Corona Apocalypse. Great talent gone too soon.
