So, my question to you is if there is a song I haven’t heard but I should have heard it by now, should I not make a reaction because it would seem ingenuine even though it is completely true?
You wanna see something incredible? Check out 1000 drummers playing smells like teen spirit. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EoYjSWBMZg8.html
This guy is a fraud on EVERYTHING. He calls his videos Hip Hop head's for Click Bait. Cause if he'd called them metal head listening to metal. NOBODY would give a fuck. Plus he says first time listening to Metallica, Nirvana or any of the BIGGEST bands on earth... he's full of shit.
@@snoppe87 alice in chains was first and I love alice in chains but they were still a band to a limited fanbase.it was nirvana with this song in particular who broke through to everyone and was the biggest intro to the grunge era.to sum it up alice in chains fanbase grew because of nirvana, not the other way around.
@@snoppe87 think the difference was nirvana's first album was huge and the second failed in comparison while alice in chains first album was big but their second was the moneymaker.by the time that came out pearl jam had already slid in as second in command for the grunge king.
Seriously? Is your next reaction going to be to the Happy Birthday song? 😂😂 I thought everyone had heard this at some point. Would love for you to add Empire of the Clouds by Iron Maiden to your list. Please?
I'm 46 years old and remember when this came out! I was wild and would get into the mosh pits slamming everyone as hard as my 100lb body could back then....and could hold my own! Today? My son is 18yrs old and Nirvana is one of his fav bands! Kurts legacy will live on forever! RIP Curt...
@Holly Carey I'm 46, born Sept.1973 & yeah I remember the 'mosh pits' of the day. I was only a few of female's who enjoyed the 'mosh pit'. I'm only 5 foot 2 & at the time-110lb, like you I held my own! (I usually knew most the blokes & other gals). Today, I have a 27yr old daughter who has been to more concerts & music festivals, @ home & around the world, than I could ever have dreamt of 4 myself. But she says she's still envious that I was alive when Curt Cobain & Nirvana toured, etc. RIP Curt.
Aryan Bianca I was Born October 73! I had JUST read your reply yesterday before picking up my son from work and on the way home we were listening to Nirvana and he made the comment "I would do anything to have gone to one of their concerts!" I thought about your response! We lost SO MANY INCREDIBLE musicians of that era! Those of us who where able to experience it in its prime prob don't realize how lucky we were!! My 18yr old just got his first tattoo and came home with an Alice In Chains tat! My oldest is 26! We started early didn't we!? I turned 20yrs old 20 days after having him basically grew up myself with him. 😉. Take care!!
So funny, Im 46, 5’1” but never attempted mosh pit, however I did make it to the first Lollapalooza. Damn those were the days. I know I sure smoked a lot of weed and was known for rolling up perfect joints. Lol. Hefner is making me relive those wild years. 🤘🏻
Why do you fucking mellenials think everyone likes what you like and knows what you know it is hubris I have heard of korn but the only thing I know about them is they are illiterate just like you do not care about my groups the dave Clark five the stones cream the platters frank sinatra the eagles ect get point !!!?? They are no one to you little kids or those not into that genre I hate metal so I ignore it get a life kids
@@daveyhouston Wtf are you talking about? This is an open comment section, people can comment whatever they want, it's not directed at you. Shut up, Boomer.
Well when you are typically a close minded rap listener that listens to nothing but rap or just one genre for the matter most of your life you're obviously not going to know any other song or band
1 sonofabiscuit I could understand that if it wasn’t a song that’s literally engraved into modern culture. This would be like someone raised primarily on rock music to say they’ve never heard “gangstas paradise” or “lose yourself”
@@pelgervampireduck exactly. I first time heard them in begining of 2000 by sudden on CD. That song was you know you right. I even knew them when it was difficult to find any musician or song you want.
little extra-knowledge if you didn't already know: The drummer of Nirvana was Dave Grohl who is now the singer of the Foo Fighters. also, the song seemed a bit pitched up and the solo was cut into half the original length.
Love the fact your finally reacting to nirvana. Their drummer back then was Dave grohl who is now the lead singer of legendary rock band the Foo Fighters so I really hope more nirvana reactions turns into foo fighters reactions. Would be cool to see 🤘🏻🔥
The importance of this song in my life and millions of others is insane. The first band I ever gravitated to. It literally changed my life when I came home and heard this..Remember it to this day..
There's plenty of music today that I haven't heard and people would say "Wait, you're telling me you haven't heard this? Bullshit!" It's like "Motherfucker, the radio station I listen to plays mostly 90's and older music."
@@joshuagarcia2642 weel, you are from this crapy generation whit no music taste,so that shit is normal......but they are probably the best 2 band to exist...ever 1 is The Beatles...
@@riva1xking440 oh please. Cobain and Nirvana were labeled "The Best in 90s grunge" People must've forgotten about Alice In Chains and Soundgarden. Nirvana was overrated.
vocalist for the Foo Fighters. crazy talented guy. he really continued where Nirvana left off after Curt's death. as much as i want this channel to get away from the mainstream music, i'd be ok with some Foo Fighters reactions.
@@ryanm5578 they pretty much do, without people commenting and telling him what they like or dislike his channel might not succeed if he's making videos about shit no one cares about so fuck outta here dumb ass nigga
I literally choked on my cup of orange juice when i saw this notification. I was like how tf has he listened to hammer smashed face but he hasn't ever listened to smells like teen spirit🤯🤯🤯
Now you need to react to some Foo Fighters songs. Dave Grohl, the drummer for Nirvana, has his own band. Also, you totally need to react to more Breaking Benjamin.
I grew up listening to Nirvana, and they’re still my favorite band ever, so to hear that someone went what, 20 years(?) without ever listening to them?! That’s wild to me man.
Listen to Yellow 5. Probably even better than Nirvana. Same vibe in songs. Same voice too. Finger puppets is my favorite track. No hype and breathe are also good.
I remember the day this song was released. It ushered in an age of grunge music that wiped thrash and glam metal off the map. It was a crazy time. One week, kids were wearing metal shirts, the next week they were wearing flannel. This song was huge.
You can hear the song in his headphones after the picture in picture video has ended. So that's probably sped up but he's probably listening to it normal.
Now you can connect to a Foo Fighter (The pretender) song, because the Nirvana's drummer Dave Grohl (Foo Fighter lead singer). If i remember correctly, the "janitor" was the principal of the school where the clip was taken, and the audience was know the "free concert" a few hour before the begin. :)
Kurt contain was the originator of the “grunge” sound. He was a genius. His death had a profound effect on many people. My son was in junior high & he went into such a depression that we had to have him hospitalized because we were worried about suicide. He just was so negatively affected. I wonder how many others were affected like my son.
Kurt was far from the originator of the "grunge" sound. The Pixies, The Melvin's, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Green River, etc were playing "grunge" type music years before Nevermind. Y'all just make up bs.
I was 31 when this came out. We had almost a decade of no decent rock. It was depressing. This song brought real rock back. The main line was “here we are now, entertain us.” We all understood that one and it was perfect. Yes, please. We needed them so badly and this changed everything...for about 13-15 years, then it all died again. Damn. I miss the 60’s, 70’s, 90’s...we need this to happen again.
Your reactons do seem pretty genuine, like how someone back in the day might react the first time. It's almost like I feel happy for you, as I watch you hear this, as if you were an adult eating ice cream for the first time. Everyone should feel happy for you and share in this joy.
This song was melted into my head at the age of 6 in 1996. My 16 year old sister would watch MTV and it's probably the first band I can remember from then.
True. But none of their other songs could possibly have such an impact on the music industry. It's settled so perfectly between the different worlds of popular music.
This brings up so many memories from back in the day when this came out and was all the rage on parties and school concerts. I was one of the nerdy kids active behind the scenes. Nobody had a driver's license for a proper car, so the farmer boys helped out, carting around the band's equipment behind a 50's tractor at a staggering 19km/h. Oh, good old days. I still have this song on a 45rpm record, you know, these VINYL thingies.
Why do people have such are hard time believing that someone hasn't heard a song before? I just looked up the top 30 YT videos and I've only heard 3 of the songs, because I don't listen to pop and don't go out of my to do so either. Even back in the radio days, if you only listened to hip hop or pop stations, you're never going to hear Nirvana. Now days, with things like Spotify, you can personalize the selection so much that it narrows your exposure to other types of music so much that unless you go out of your way to find them you'll never hear them. It's not at all unbelievable.
That drummers name is Dave Ghrol. After Nirvana disbanded he formed his own band called the Foo Fighters where he is the lead vocals. They have some real bops, you should check them out. 🙏🏻
If you want to hear the true power of Kurt's voice you should check out their unplugged performance of Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Literal goosebumps
Nirvana "In Bloom", "Come As You Are", "Polly", "All Apologies", "Negative Creep", "I Hate Myself and Want to Die", "Lithium", "Sliver", "You Know You're Right".
Wondering why no one else is suggesting the Pixies to piggyback on this? 100% you're on it. "Where is My Mind?" is an amazing song, though not typical, and so I'm not sure I'd recommend it as the first to listen to. I'd say "Hey."
Congrats man on finally listening to the song that arguably started Grunge. Before this it was all Hair metal, 80’s pop. The only break from that stuff was groups like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Faith No More. Bands like that. Then Nirvana came out and other grunge bands like Pearl Jam came soon after. Kirk Cobain unknowingly popularized a whole new movement and I think ultimately the pressure of all the fame is what really got to him. He was one of the biggest musicians on the planet at the time. I was in middle school when Nirvana came out and it change my life forever. Sitting it High School hearing the news of his death on Channel 1 school news. It was devastating. It was crazy how many students were in tears. Anyways, just thought I’d share.
The song is more high pitched because of copyright reasons which means that RU-vid knows Alex is awesome and popular so he can’t just react to the song anymore
Seeing the title of this video reminds me of that episode of parks and recs where Tom said "this town is just now getting into Nirvana, I'd hate to have to tell them what happens in 94".
