*FINALLY.....A DEMO THAT ISN'T OF SOME DUDE SHREDDING OR CHUGGING FROM START TO FINISH!!!!!* Thank you for keeping this tasteful, and incredibly thorough. You didn't leave out any genre's/tones.
@@markjohnstonofficial Ha! I don’t believe that for one second. Your playing takes FAR more talent than some guy playing Mach 5 arpeggios/scales. A nut-less monkey can shred/chug. You can’t teach taste and feeling. Hence why, you will literally not see a single demo on RU-vid of playing as soulful as yours. Don’t change a thing! 👍
Gosh! Please, release album of your demos, it is stunning! Rabea Masaad did so and I enjoy workout in gym and drive around town listening that kind of music
Thank you so much. I’m a big advocate of “make the gear work to your ends, not the other way around” which I clearly go hard after on this one given that I’m pretty unfamiliar w the aml this is modeling.
No exaggeration or hype, I think it absolutely is the most versatile guitar plugin I have. The Rabea is probably a close second for it’s synth engine but maaaaan you can do SO much with the wealth of multi stage EQ controls on this
The transpose function is impressive. I was scratching my head a bit during the intro when you played the "baritone". The guitar neck was too short to be a baritone, but it didn't sound like a detuned standard scale-length guitar either.
"Its almost like this amp is popular for a reason" - well said, haha. I played Mesa bass amps for years but never tried their guitar amps. I think I'm going to give the plugin a try and hope it doesn't make me want the real thing!
Just got mine! This video totally pushed me in to getting it. I was going to get the Soldano, until I saw this video…. Thanks for making this! Best comprehensive video on this amp that out there! Keep ‘em coming!
Mesa makes some pretty cool stuff. The Rectifier amps were generally used for low end (Marshall for top end) on those old Jerry Finn / Blink 182 albums. Stoked to see a Mesa amp in plugin form 🙌
Hmm this vid opened my eyes a bit. Other vids of this amp had me thinking it was a lot less versatile. Those are the best cleans i've heard somebody do on this amp. I was convinced I didn't want this plugin but now I think i'm going to get it. I already have the Soldano and Gojira ones but what the hell..........
My favorite mark series bands are Weezer, best coast, Prince, and lamb of god. I also wish UAD would allow you to upload third party plugins in that mixer
Great video! I love the way these neural recreations sound , they just blast my cpu though. Is it easier on the cpu the way you are running it as a standalone?
I think so. You can also change your buffer size to ease the stress to the system as well but my *notoriously slow* laptop runs them as standalone without issue. HIGHLY recommend recording via the way I walk through at the start of the sound samples.
With the delay trick at around 21 minutes you start with a BPM determined delay of the same quarter note value. When the the tempo of the host is changed the sync mode will keep it at a quarter note. What happens when you convert it to milliseconds and you change the tempo in the host? Does it lose its synchronization with the tempo or does it attempt to keep it? I somehow doubt that would happen. I’ll have to try it later in my DAW. You can always redo the trick at the new tempo but as a saved patch one might not know that.
