I happy to see u trying my culture. 🇭🇹🥰 Ur reaction is the same as when I have my co-workers try our dishes. They are always wanting Haitian food for our potlucks. 😊
Chicago was one of the 1st places in the States where Haitians settled, since back in the 1960s. There's a Haitian embassy there. DuSable was also born in Haiti, when it was still a colony. He's credited with founding Chicago.
@@Mayetmarie_ Hi and God bless. You said this was your first time trying the food, may I ask what is your ethnicity? P.S. : There are other cities where you can find Haitian restaurants on the east coast, like in Florida, New York, Boston, and as far north as Montreal in Canada. God bless.
@@Mayetmarie_ Having "Marie" in your name, you never know. I would shake the family tree to see if Haiti's there. :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the food. God bless!
@Noelle Brusseau Hi! I beg to differ Noelle. Macaroni au gratin is made by coating the macaroni in a “sauce bechamelle”, the basic recipe only involves sprinkling “fromage tête de maure (aged edam) on top of it. A sauce bechamelle is achieved by slowly adding milk to a “roux” (technically melted butter and flour). You can season to taste! It is a very simple recipe, once the basic is down you can become creative by adding any type of protein of your choice, veggies or more cheese. I have always preferred the basic original recipe. Definitely not mac and cheese 😊❤️ 🇭🇹
