We miss you, Tina. I grew up watching her and Ike. We didn't know their personal lives. Then she went solo and dominated the 80s. She starred in "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome." What a legend!

Sad that we lost another one of the greats back in 2023. Tina Turner was the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll". She spanned over 6 decades of music. She started out with her husband Ike & had some great hits such as "Proud Mary", "It's Gonna Work Out Fine", "River Deep-Mountain High", "Nutbush City Limits" etc. But she had even bigger hits when she went solo such as "Better Be Good To Me", "Private Dancer", "The Best", "We Don't Need Another Hero", "Typical Male", "I Don't Wanna Fight", "GoldenEye", "It's Only Love" (duet with Bryan Adams) etc.

You will never understand how exciting & a little bit scary she was on tv in the 60s. She was so strong so intense , women were all cookie cutter feminine , she was sexy so her own energy. As a little girl I couldn’t keep my eyes off her. Her ex husband who was abusive said she couldn’t leave him because she was nothing without him. He disappeared because all the talent was hers

She was the definition of womanhood, beautiful in and out, sexy, feminine, resilient, and strong. She had those gorgeous legs and smile to the end and her talent was undeniable. Can anyone really say enough about her? Really, really miss her. Thank you for your reaction.

Turner originally hated the song and refused to record it. Her manager at the time, Roger Davies, believed it could be a hit, and asked her to meet with the songwriter to see if he could make changes to suit her. She recorded it after they promised they wouldn't use it if it didn't work. Turner said "They weren't used to [a] strong voice standing on top of music, but I converted it and made it my own." Did she ever! A beautiful woman at the top of her game.

You should listen to Queen and the lead singer Freddie Mercury--when it comes to phrasing and syllables, using his voice the he did, everything about his singing really stands out--he’s a master. Love this song too. Tina Turner--one of a kind. ❤

One of the greats. Sounds like she is looking for action, not love. I'll just say, it could be released today and be a huge hit.

This song came out when I was in high school. I hated it. HATED, all caps kinda hate. My friends and I were talking rather heatedly about it and, somehow, my Mama got in on the conversation. She told me to be careful about judging things that I don’t understand or have experience in. I didn’t think I would ever look at the song differently. Life happened. I heard the song one day on the radio and, lo and behold, I heard it as if it was the first time and I understood what it meant. A short time later, I was bored and looking for a movie to watch and saw one about Tina Turner. I cried so hard because I had heard that he had abused her and even that he had beat her but that magnitude of it had escaped my adolescent mind. Mama was SO right! Be careful with your questions and your judgements because you might learn from hard experiences.
