i just love how don always adds to anything he watches and offers different angles to a debate in a film unlike most reacting content on youtube who just sits there without a thought in their mind

When it comes to the symbiote ( aliens ) they can survive for a short time in anyone but if the host is incompatible then the host will be consumed internally and die slowly which is why at the start we see the one switch to the old lady as the old host was used up, in the scene around 15:35 this was simply a case of the symbiote knowing what was going on and that it was being tested like a lab rat and so it killed / consumed the human instantly
i dont understand. why would symbiote kill the human instantly because it knew it is being tested? if it know, all the more so the symbiote should keep human alive as long as possible, as it is easier to escape with a host body. unless u mean symbiote know they will keep feeding new humans to it?
@@Defender888888 They are very smart it was well aware it was being tested and was trapped and in an imperfect host match the host would be consumed and expire, so if it was to stay in the host sure it would have a human body but it would still be trapped, the film makes a point of telling us that the symbiote can use an imperfect host for a short time at the cost of slowly using up the host as the symbiote can manage how fast it consumes the host to stretch out the time it has, the symbiote can even inhabit an imperfect host for a short time with zero harm to the host it it chooses as we see Venom do but it comes at a cost to its self. And so the symbiote knew it was trapped and it knows instantly if the host is a match and well in this case the host was not a match and so leaving a few options , 1: survive as long as it can in the dieing host but still be trapped or 2: consume it instantly and discard it ether to make a point or simply because it was hungry, at the end of the day humans are nothing more than food to a symbiote
Even with the heart stabbed, a regular human can survive about four minutes before brain cells start to run out of oxygen, so Eddie was still alive yes, he just passed out from the pain
Even with the heart stabbed, almost half the time, the muscle tissue collapses in on itself allowing a significant amount of time to be rushed to the hospital for surgery. It's not the just the heart you have to worry about, but the vascular structure connected to it. Hitting the arteries there is a death sentence.
In the comics, symbiotes need a chemical called "phenethylamine" to survive. I kid you not, the two prime sources of this chemical? chocolate....and human brains
The symbiotes are really smart and really powerful. They are basically the more they are colorful, the more they are powerful. Meaning Venom is the weakest symbiote, but definetly one of the smartest. The end credits this is Cletus Kasady aka the Carnage symbiote. Carnage in the comics is son of Venom and Riot and he's one of the most brutal symbiotes, he's also red. Venom gets his personality and vocabulary from the person Venom infects since Venom can connect to the brains of them. Interesting fact is that the symbiotes share one mind across the universes. It is called The Symbiote Hive-Mind and it's is a mental and metaphysical realm that psychically connects symbiotes and their ilk to one-another and their god, while also serving as an afterlife for deceased symbiotes and their hosts. Basically the Venom from Tobey's Spiderman shares one mind with this Venom here. So because Tobey's Spider-Man 3 Venom knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, Then Venomverse Venom has that knowledge too. All of the symbiotes were created by a monstrous being named Knull (The God Of Symbiotes) in the days when the universe was young. The so-called "King in Black," Knull lived in the void before the Big Bang and objected vehemently to the creation of light.
@@actroskharis1095 Where do you see spoilers lil man? I’m telling him things he should know for thе future and not be confused. Cuz he asked a questions in the video and I’m explaining it to him. Calm down.
Cool to know :) Also as a Swedish person I find it funny the god's name is Knull, as it's the most vulgar word to describe sexual intercourse in Swedish
16:10 the reason venom link with the strangers is when the venom was switching bodies all though they werent a match he was able to use them without instantly killing them, they all can, but they arent a perfect match (its like putting F1 steering wheel on a normal car, it dosent belong with it, but it stays because its needed)
The Venom from Spider-man 2 or 3 is just unique to Spider-man as he was in control and had on his Spiderman suit although his behaviour was still influenced by Venom, but Venom's actual form when he takes control of the host is the buff looking one you see here, of course in the comics Venom has a sort of Spider insignia on his chest and back. All Symbiotes were created by a god named Knull, it just so happens that Venom was the first Symbiote that came to earth and bonded with Spiderman first and then Eddie Brock afterwards. Venom also have offspring, with his most dangerous one being Carnage. And Carnage also has offspring which is considered to be the strongest of all the Symbiotes named Toxin, there are a bunch of other Symbiotes but it's a bit too many for me to name. Either way Venom is actually the weakest of all the Symbiotes, but because him and Brock are very compatible, they are very strong.
I don't think venom is the weakest of all the symbiotes, he's just weak compared to others in the 999th generation and his children, as his kids are better suited for earth. But he'd still be way more stacked than those in previous generations.
If you like Venoms powers, you will probably like Spawn. Spawn was a character which was created by an artist that did many iconic Spiderman books before forming his own company.
Just so you could understand, Marvel back in the day had their rights from some of their characters sold to Fox (x-men; fantastic 4), Paramount (Hulk), and Sony (Spiderman). That also aplies to side characters (Deadpool, galactic, Venom). So those films has that phrase "in asosiation with Marvel" and that's WHY those films aren inside the MCU timeline.
You nailed it. During the whole titanic submarine drama a fee submarine specialist said it is harder to plan for under water travel because in space you dont combat pressure like you do thousands of feet under water. Pressure is important to matter what but under water it is more so.
29:20 just for information. You’ve forgotten that the Peter Parker in the Spider-Man 3 movie was the first Venom, then Eddie Brock, then it basically become a behemoth without anyone’s body. I’m not so sure about the last bit, I’d have to make sure. I edited my mistake. If it was Eddie first, it would’ve been a different movie for sure.
The reason Eddie didn't get consumed because he have cancer, so the symbiot consume it instead of him. Most people will be taken over even Spiderman, that's why Peter get rid of it.
Wow this is one hell of a surprise to come home to. Venom and it's sequel are both good though I personally prefer the first one. Can't wait to see how you like it!
1:45 Pretty much means it's a Marvel brand but isn't made by Marvel Studios. Sony own the movie rights to Spider-Man so they use there own Sony studios to create these films but they still have to give credit to Marvel as there using there IP. Plus people at Marvel (Not Marvel Studios) do help with the depictions of the characters and give feedback along with provide resources so they can create a good depiction of Venom. Also this is an evolution of the Marvel intro (Not Marvel Studios) where it flicks throw the pages like it's a comic until we get to the Marvel logo. But I think the association with Marvel was added later around the time of Venom so people know it's not the MCU. Pretty much yeah in most renditions Spider-Man acquires the "Black Suit" but has really no idea what it's about only that it makes him feel good (idea of the alien symbiote effecting peoples emotions and personality was added later) and allows him to have unlimited webbing. He then ripped the suit off him on top of a Church tower using the bell pretty much what we see in Spider-Man 3. The symbiote falls off people and lands on Eddie who then becomes Venom a large hulking monster with the abilities of it's last host (Spider-Man) and the iconic white Spider logo on his chest. Peter found the symbiote on Battleworld in the original Secret War storyline that turned into a cool Black Suit. In the Spider-Man Animated Series the symbiote was onboard an Earth Space Ship just like this film where it was then saved from crashing into New York by Spider-Man. And finally in the Ultimate Universe Venom was actually created in a lab by Peter and Eddies fathers but the project was never finished until Peter at 15 and Eddie came together to finish the project. But most renditions of the character depict him as an alien symbiote just like the up in coming Spider-Man 2 video game where Venom has been confirmed to be an alien we just don't know how he came to Earth. In this film though they did away with the whole Spider-Man connection so that's why Venom has no Spider logo or uses webs. Does feel odd to have an Eddie Brock Venom without any Spider-Man connections but this is a whole new universe with no connection to the Toby films, Andrew Garfield, or MCU. They're free to come up with changes like this and I personally enjoyed the film just wished for a Spider-Man connection.
I'm actually really glad that you have joined Eddie's hitherto boss in the importance of evidence. For me personally, even though Eddie's up-'till-then boss has so little screentime, he's one of the most powerful characters for me, and him laying Eddie out straight about substantiating accusations and doing the honest journalistic work is powerful.
Venom is a poorly written movie, but you still didn't understand the plot. Eddie's boss wasn't doing anything virtuos. He knew the guy was doing shady business he just didn't want Eddie to expose it because he was afraid of losing his job. Eddie also had proof. It was his spouse's emails, but he didn't want to involve her.
In association to marvel refers to the fact that Disney doesn’t have the rights to all the marvel characters. When the comics were going bankrupt they sold movie rights for different characters to different studios. Universal had the avenger, fox had the X-men and fantastic 4, and Sony has Spider-Man. Over the years Disney got the rights to most of them but Sony still holds onto Spider-Man because he makes the most money. And now Disney has marvel as a whole including comics, but Sony still has Spider-Man’s movie rights, and shares him with the mcu but won’t give him completely to Disney.
At the end Venom just took care of Ms. Chen's gangster problem, so while she's gonna be all "The hell was that??", I see no reason for her to keep pushing after "Oh, I have a parasite." XD
Heads up if you wanna play the Spider Man game coming out in October Don. There's 2 other games you have to play before you play that one. Marvel Spider-Man (2018) and Marvel Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). Both are Playstation Exclusives
In the Netherlands they offer us like minimum 2/3 k to be a human tester , but you have to basically be healthy. And they say everything like what can go wrong and such, but it’s never something crazy tbh
Inexperience is part of why he’s so fun to watch though. Most channels dunk on movies like Venom and anime like 7DS. But this guy doesn’t care, he’s just here to have fun and spread the good vibes. I kind of love that.
I have to correct you. Venom is only one. Each Symbiote has its own personality and its own name. Gray is Riot. Then there's Carnage, Anti-venom, Scorn, etc. etc. There are an awful lot of symbionts and they are asexual, so it can also reproduce unintentionally if part of it gets on another host, for example, when injured, a new symbiote with a new personality will emerge from it. This is how Carnage was born, who is basically considered Venom's son.
8:20 it's often vulnerable or uneducated people with learning difficulties that volunteer, thinking it's a good idea and not properly understanding the repercussions and risks involved.
Venom didnt take over Spidermans suit he took over Spiderman himself and MADE himself LOOK like a new suit.. but yes Venom is a parasite and is his own creature. Just like in the comics when he take eddie brock and uses his true form instead of just looking like a new suit
The reason why Space exploration needs to take precedence over fully discovering our own planet, is because eventually, there 'will' be a global killer.... an asteroid of sufficient size that we don't detect coming (our astronomers who look for this stuff still have massive chunks of the sky to study when looking for objects from the Oort Cloud that surrounds our solar system, or extra-solar object from outside), or a Super-Volcano (of which occurs roughly every 600,000 years on this planet, and currently is 50,000 years past due for an eruption).... Or one of any other massive catastrophe that could befall our planet effectively ending our species. You are correct.... taking our species into space 'will' be harder, and so should be started 'now' to give us the maximum possible time to give our species the best possible chance of survival. Yes, exploring our own world is still important, but that doesn't help us if we are killed off before we ensure our survival. Also, both things do not have to exist seperate from each other... we are capable of both exploring into space, 'and' exploring our own world. The advantage of having a population heading towards 9 Billion....
I agree with you on that informed consent is crucial in human experimentation(TRUTHFUL INFORMED CONSENT) but also that it needs to be guaranteed that my family sees that monry
Venom is a parasite. It needs a host to be in that animal humanoid form. Without a host it is just the sludge. When the venom symbiot finds peter it attaches to the suit and not peter himself because peters abilities prevent the symbiot parasite from taking peter over fully. Which is why peter wad able to rip the symbiot off himself. It then found eddie and eddie lacks the healing factor peter has so the symbiot fully takes him over. In the comics the venom symbiot wants to merge with peter more than anyone on earth. It sees peter as the perfect match. But peter is too strong and only alloes the symbiot to be part of him for a short time. Eddie is the next best host. And eddie willingly accepts it so they are a good match. Over time the symbiot and eddie learn to truly care for one another because they keep each other alive. In the comics.... way way in the future... the venom symbiot actually keeps eddies corpse animated so it can remain in its venom form and not just the sludge.
Don to clarify and differentiate venom ( evil/anti hero) from Spider-Man is that venom is the bulky sharp teeth beast while spidey will have a slime build that looks exactly like he’s suit the venom you saw in Spider-Man 3 was just a different design choice
8:00 Yeah there's no immorality there if you're telling people the truth that's the entire point of contracts so the person doesn't back out or sue when something bad happens because it's in writing so they can't act like they didn't know
When it says “In association with marvel” that means it’s marvel comics characters, BUT it has nothing to do with Marvel Studios which is owned by Disney unlike the characters that are owned by Sony and previously Fox too but they got bought by Disney. It’s complicated I know.
I'd say yes- it's definitely a bad thing. It's exploiting those who are struggling, who may not have many other options, in order to test on people not even knowing how people could react, or how dangerous it'd be. What if someone has an allergy? Or worse? It's manipulative and the power imbalance just makes it all worse
Venom is a Marvel comic but the license to use him is owned by Sony. I believe the difference with the Spider-Man and Venom movies and the “association with” is Disney/Marvel has a contract with Sony to share Spider-Man. At the time this movie was made Disney/Marvel had no rights to the character of Venom, but Sony acknowledged Marvel Comics. The licensing with Marvel comic book characters has been a mess since the 1970s
11:15 Mandarin is the most spoken NATIVE language due to the sheer scale of the chinese population, but English is the most spoken language in the world all together due to it being taught in almost every school across the world
The human body is very complicated it takes time to slowly adjust and adapt to the human body thus trial and error after Venom took a hold of that human astronaut guy, basically killing him thus going into that paramedic woman then into the old woman slowly adjusting until it finds The Perfect Host hahaha
Sony & Marvel situation… Basically back in the day no one thought anyone would want to watch a Superhero movie so all the rights got sold to different companies basically anyone who’d take them. That’s why Sony has all the SpiderMan characters and all the X Men/Deadpool movies are Fox (now Disney since they bought Fox) but Marvel kept the rights to the merchandise so all clothes and toys all profit from that goes to Marvel whereas the movies are Sony. Sony are basically hanging on to Spiderman because obviously people will go watch them movies so they did have a deal with Marvel that’s why Spiderman is in the MCU now. But yea Sony are pretty much being tight and hanging on to whatever profit they can make off Spiderman characters. But at the end of the day they are Marvel characters so that’s why it’s says “in association with Marvel” even though Sony owns the movies it’s still a character from the Marvel Comics so yea that’s why you always see the Marvel title no matter which studio produced the movie. I think in 2019 Sony basically cut their ways with Disney meaning no more Tom Holland in the MCU and they were planning to do their own Sony Spiderverse and do their own movies for all Spiderman future projects but yea I think I speak for everyone when I say I just wish Sony would sell the rights to Marvel
Venom made his first appearance as a full symbiote and not just a suit, in 1988. There's many comics of him too. Also I have no doubt that Venom would change his mind for Eddie, even in the comics their relationship has always been kinda fruity👀
The reason it's in association, is because Sony owns the rights to spiderman. Something something about marvel going bankrupt or near it ages ago, and sold spiderman off. Then they became rich with the avengers comics and other stuff and wanted to buy spiderman back, but sony said ''nah I like this spider guy, we're gonna keep him'' (Some of the details are wrong I know, but I cba to research it in 100% full detail.)
when it says “In association with Marvel” that just means that they don’t have direct control over the movie. Sony owns the rights to Venom so it’s from Columbia Pictures more so than Marvel Studios
In association with means it’s derived from the comics but marvel isn’t the owner just a co-owner in some sense marvel created venom while Sony owns the rights to the name
I don't think it bad thing to experiment on human as most sign up for it but to some people it bad moral that the people who sign up are the one who have nothing to live for or just need cash in a struggle. But it not their choice it the people who sign up, so they know what they are getting into.
I'm glad to see Don watching Venom. Can't wait for TASM2 and (if he hasn't seen them yet) SM 2 and SM 3. Edit: I forgot to mention, I was and still am watching the video as I sent this
1:43 I'm not really caught up on the dealings of all these moves and their rights, so some of what I'm saying might be wrong, so if anyone understands it better than I do feel free to correct me. The reason it says in association with Marvel is because Marvel doesn't own the rights to Spider-Man and Venom anymore or at least they didn't at the time the movie was released. Venom is from Marvel comics, but they either lost or sold the rights to him at some point, I think they got Spider-Man back or at least they are willing to work with Marvel more when it comes to him.
The how are your kids line is low key a terrifying thing for her to hear. He was straight up threatening her kids lives simply by asking how are they to let her know that he knows about her kids and he could basically do anything he wanted to them if she even tries not to do what he says.
with the symbiote and spider suits, in the spiderman 2 movie, it was the slime creature attaching to the suit that parker was using, instead of the creature form
"In association with" eludes to the fact that SONY owns all film rights to spiderman and the characters including venom, its says association because venom is still a marvel comics character although sony owns film rights
7:01 I don’t think you understand just how crazy of a statement that is. Maybe it’s just because the science that you’ve learned is from fiction, but even approaching the smallest fraction of a percent of the speed of light is practically impossible. The single fastest FASTEST thing that we’ve ever EVER created as a species flew into space at 635,266 km/h or 176.46 km/s. The speed of light is 299,792 km/s. Over a thousand times slower than light. That is 0.0589% the speed of light. Also, the speed of light is theoretically impossible to reach. Like scientifically, you literally just cannot reach the speed of light. It is impossible. Nothing with mass can reach that speed.
Marvel comics sold the rights to some superheroes to diff companies, like Sony got spiderman, fox got x-men, etc. Nowadays they have come to get back almost all the rights for all their characters back. late 90s were rough for marvel finantially
Eddie also used his girlfriends private files. He had no business accessing to get those questions. She’s a lawyer, and he went through her confidential files That’s why she got fired because the breach came from her
he can be mad with her, she knows what the company is doing, and that it is wrong, and she is doing nothing about it. she is in the wrong, eddie is 100% in the right, as spiderman would say "if something bad happens and I can do something but choose not to, its feels like im responsible" because its true, she is making the decision not to come out about the horrendous experiments being done, she knows about them, she has proof of them, and does nothing about it, she gets mad at eddie brock for DOING THE RIGHT THING. you cant even say "well eddie didnt know" he literally read the documents that stated what happened. don't make excuses for her because she seems nice, or shes cute, she is wrong, she is "just following orders" and we all know what kind of roads that leads to *cough* ww2 *cough*
I'd love to see you play the spider-man 2 for the ps5 And I think that the "IN ASSOCIATION WITH MARVEL" means that Venom belongs to Sony but is also a marvel character. If it's not that, feel free to correct me
