Geez Cari, honestly, you should get a job with the state department promoting tourism and travel. The first part of this video was just magical, the montage flowed so beautifully. You don't just have a knack for this, you are truly gifted! Your 7th degree blackbelt in pastries prowess has now extended to any kind of food. You could promote travel, tourism, food industry or just about anything because it doesn't come across as promotion, it's true artistry. You could teach a master class for this sort of thing. Well done girl, well done!!
@@caricakes I also appreciate how much of your vlogs tell us about the food because that's always my first question: How was the food? lol. And second question is about the scenery so you get all the important stuff! 🙂
I watched this on the plane home after spending 3 weeks in Japan. We couldn’t make it up to Hokkaido on this trip and your vid made me want to turn around at the other end and go straight back! How absolutely magical. I’ve never seen a city like that in snow and I think it would be absolutely amazing! Looks like you had an amazing trip 💛
The food, Cari.... THE FOOD IN THIS!!!!! 😩😭 It looks sooo good omg makes me want to fly over there right now and join you on your Japan adventures!! 😍🧡
Cari I don't know if you've thought of this before, but have you ever considered doing historical documentaries of places? Your ability to capture the look and feel of a place at a given time would be very valuable for future historical context. Places change, cities change, the look of streets and districts change over time. Fashions and styles change. It would be nice to have time capsule style video montages of various places and the people in them. Your speaking voice is so pleasant to listen to, and your diction is so good, that you could easily narrate these videos and it would be worthy of being part of an historical reference series. Just a thought.
Your travel vlogs are so calming and transportative. And all the food looks so amazing! Especially the Hokkaido potatoes with butter🍠 Adding Sapporo to our travel wishlist 💛
Kept wondering why the scenery felt familiar. Realised its because of this absolutely wonderful Japanese series I saw recently “first love”, a lot of the scenes were shot in Sapporo . You captured the place equally beautifully 😍
This is the only channel where i willingly spend my 1080p quality in each of the vlogs only to witness the aesthetic views cari captures for us. Thank you
Thank you for this. I’ve wanted to visit Sapporo for 20 years since I was a teenager and first heard about the Snow Festival. Despite not doing well in cold weather. I’ll get there someday. Until then, I’ll watch videos like yours.
I love that you met an Australian viewer in Japan. When you're in a European country next, I wouldn't be surprised if you met a subscriber from Singapore or Hawaii.
hii cari, i’m a silent follower but i decided to comment on this one because it really broke my heart but in a good way. i have always wanted to go to japan since i was like 14 years old and this video made me fall in love even more with this amazing and beautiful country. i had a question for you: i am vegan and i was wondering if it’s easy to eat vegan food in japan (and in south korea) or not. as always, keep shine like you do, ilysm 💕
I really hope you get to go!! Its doable if you research ahead of time!! There wont aways be a vegan option in restaurants but if you plan your day around where vegan food is, you can definitely travel easily in the major cities!!
As a New Yorker I may be the only person who’s sad we haven’t gotten any snow storms this winter but seeing all your Korea/ Japan snow vlogs I’m reminded how beautiful it makes nature look also that snow art, come on it was too stinking cute.
So fun to watch this video since I was there almost the exact same time (and ran into you as well - I really hope it wasn't a bother that I said hi)! My friends and I did and saw so many of the things that are in this video so it was super cosy to look back on and remember our trip by. Thank you as always for making such beautiful and calm content and I'm glad you and Kurt enjoyed Sapporo as much as I did! :D
I was so excited for this vlog because I went to Sapporo last November and it was literally one of the best weeks in my life. So now I will probably come back to this Video whenever I'm starting to feel a little down. So thank you Cari for always giving us these litlle reminders that life is fun!
OMG Cari, I'm so glad this video is here! I've been watching your instagram stories everyday and Japan looks beautiful and breathtaking from your pov. I'm currently writing a book that takes place in Japan so I guess this video could be used for research purposes too. I'm going to cozy up, get a snack, and watch the video. The perfect Saturday night in my opinion.
Wow amazing job Cari! Your Tokyo and Hong Kong vlogs are still my favorites, but this one ranks up there. I love how you cover everything, from landing and taking the bus to the AirBnB alllll the way to flying out. It just feels complete!
I’ve been waiting for your new vlog! Aaah Hokkaido is one of my travel picks, wish i could go there soon. Anyways, love you so much thank you for the vlog~
I’m so grateful for your videos. I love traveling, both alone and with friends/family. Right now, travel is kind off the table as my mom has liver cancer, and as you can imagine with all that is involved with that, between finances and how she feels, etc., it’s a bit tricky. The heartbreaking thing is my mom found out she had the cancer RIGHT BEFORE she retired last year, and we were going to make plans to go to Normandy area of France, she always wanted to go. If the cancer was the only issue, we would have tried to make it happen (and we still might, even if I have to spoil her and pay for it all). It’s the BS with Covid too though. Obviously being on treatments, she has a weakened immunity. It just breaks my heart she is dealing with this. Your videos encourage and inspire me to really try to take her on her dream trip, even if done through a river cruise. You’re an angel Cari, you do so much or so many people. Your content lifts us all up when we need it, some day I hope we can send the love back to you ❤️❤️❤️
Hey Cari! Love your vlogs and reading videos more than anything❤️ I'm sure you've been asked about this a bunch before, but what allows you to travel so much? Is it just for fun, for your husband's work, or for something else? I just want to travel someday as well. Thanks again for your wonderful videos!!
its my favorite thing in the world! its pretty much all we spend money on hahaha other than reading its my main hobby so im always saving up and looking for good deals and seeing as much of the world as i can
@@caricakes that's so awesome! It seems so worth it. It's also great that your husband goes with you and you can enjoy everything together. Thanks for responding. You're such an inspiration ❤️❤️
Love to visit South Korea and Japan but as I’m getting older, I’m not sure I will be able too but I live through your wonderful vloggs . Thank you Cari ❤❤
Cari, this was as always lovely to watch. Found it super interesting just how different both Sapporo and Otaru look to Soul of course. You can tell such a difference in architectural style and general feel to it. So chill to watch. Glad you had as always a good time!
Hi Cari .. btw Cari in Malay means Search. I’m from Malaysia 🇲🇾. I’ll be heading to the snow festival in 2 weeks . Your vlog is really helpful. It’s my 1st trip there .. am excited & nervous. Any recommendations for cafes in Sapporo .. I need my daily coffee fix. 😊. Is the Genghis Khan bbq worth a try ? Thnx . T care
Late to this but I'm so happy to get to live all of the snowfall through your videos. Thank you for taking us with you to Sapporo! I'm seriously enamored by all the little snow statues and figures people made around the town and that snow squirrel was adorable :)
Please can anyone give me tips!!! Going to Sapporo this Feb and I'm not prepared - do I actually need snow boots like the Columbia insulated kind or will Palladium leather kind (sole has grips) be enough?????
lucky I'm having dinner while watching this video cause all the food looks delicious! WOW also the lovely snow,nd cool sculptures! I'm still laughing at the snow squirrel 🐿
Great vlog looks amazing even with the snow. Poor Kurt has to work but he's the Boss now. The food looks amazing as well fantastic you both had a great time take care.
Could you share the name of the jacket/ shoes you wore in this video? I'm going to Hokkaido this December, and I'm so scared that I might be miserable due to cold weather
god i loved this vlog😭 thanks so much cari! i’m long distance with my bf right now and we just discussed reuniting in japan in 3 months time for his bday / a fun trip together and this has made my heart flutter with even more excitement 🥲💘
literally my dream trip, i wanna go so bad to Sapporo during winter! thank you for making the vlog and showing us, i got to escape the 34° C we’re having down here in Chile atm, so i really really appreciate it. Hope you have a great last full week of february (!!) 😊
What an amazing video. I’m new to your channel. I was in Tokyo in October 2023 and I’m already planning another Japan trip next year hahah. I want to visit Hokkaido area so RU-vid brought me here. What month was this? I would love to enjoy this beautiful snow. 😅❤
I live in Japan so it was super fun seeing you travel around Sapporo and Otaru...last time I went there I got semi-stranded after an earthquake left Hokkaido in a blackout for days 🥲If you plan to do winter Japan trips again I highly recommend Yamagata for Ginzan onsen and all the forest temples/shrines (dewa sanzan and yamadera), which look absolutely MAGICAL in the snow (...a car is probably a must though) :)
People say you shouldn't romanticize other countries, cities, places, etc but how can we not when videos like this exist???? When channels like yours exists? 😭😭😭💜💜
i just started watching your channel and I can't tell you how much you've helped me! I've had the channel playing in the background almost all day every day for weeks, while I draw. Your videos are such good company and somehow help me keep my drawing momentum up? Thanks for all the hard work you put into each video, (and also on cari can read). Can't wait for the next one!
This vlog is so wonderful. Both Hokkaido itself, and your vlogging style make it feel so romantic, this was simply gorgeous 😍😍😍 I don’t know if you’ve seen the Netflix show First Love, but many of the scenes take place in Hokkaido, and so this vlog really brought me back to the feeling of that show, thank you!
Nice to meet you, good evening. It was a nice video. Otaru is my favorite city. As a Japanese, I was very happy👍 Thank you very much. Have a wonderful tomorrow🥰
Can you say what kind of work Curt does? Well, this was fun, I'm sure glad I ate before watching your video, some of the food you ate looked pretty yummy. Enjoy. . .
