Watching your morning show 4/12 and I’m hooked because you reported about the death of OJ and I applaud you for doing the story and then immediately talking about prostate cancer and prevention. Most news would continue to dwell about the saga but instead you took a story of tragedy and turned into a story of prevention. We’ll done! Will continue to watch 😊

I observed that the newscast opened with “Glory to God,” and while I understand the sentiment, it caught me off guard. As someone who deeply values my faith, I also recognize the importance of keeping professional spaces like news broadcasts inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of their personal beliefs. I know the broadcast aims to present a perspective that is both proud and possibly less objective, focusing on a pro-American viewpoint. I’m not sure how a Christian based news network can be unbiased. Very concerning. Journalism, as I learned it, leaves the reporters view ( as in religion and political stance) out of the picture. Time will tell but I feel we need to try to bring people together in their diversity and not more polarization.
I could not agree more with the sentiment above! Our country is so divided right now; I’m afraid it’s close to be being broken. Rome was a strong empire at one time, but it did fall. It’s becoming more thinkable that this could happen to the United States too.

Dear Dominique, I started to follow you a couple of years ago. I am 50 y now, I am from Portugal. I felt like the most of women's, scared and bit sad to enter the big 50. I had conversations with some therapist's and doctor's to help me to get through this sadness, that suddenly I start to felt. Altrought all the kindness and help I get from them, You really help me to look to the coming years with hapiness, and if I take care of myself, it will be everything ok. Ive learned, laughed and cried in so many aways, it's been a journey, I feel like you are part of my life too. I am loving Merit Street! I love the refreshing news and hearing comments like "praying for you" and "the biblical reflection". It is so refreshing! Loved your yellow suit. When I saw those hills on the news broadcast I thought how cute but oh my aching feet. Then to see this vlog of the behind the scenes it made perfect sense to have two sets of shoes.

This is fabulous! I could immediately sense from the launch that this is truly reflective of what Dr. Phil desires from this new network and for all people. A lot of positive energy, transparency, an element of faith and spirituality, journalistic integrity in news casting with a mental health slant. Thank you for "rising above the noise," as Maria Shriver says. Stick to the facts (5Ws and H). I'm not interested in one's biased opinion. I was pleased to see workers back in a face-to-face environment, connecting and encouraging each other and acknowledging everyone's effort. This is what has been missing prior to Covid.
Any reputable “news” show that opens with one of its hosts proclaiming, “all glory goes to God” should give us all pause. It’s giving vibes of the old PTL Club, aka Tammy and Jim Baker, and the faux disciple, Joel Osteen. We can remember when the “good pastor” locked the doors of his mega church to his fellow Houstonians, denying them shelter during one of the worse weather events in Texas. Let’s see how this goes and what this is really about. Will this be news based on facts, the “real” ones: indisputable evidence, science and factual information or something else to the contrary. We shall see.

I love to say that I’ve been along for Dominique’s journey for a very long time as I am a Houstonian and have been watching Dominique on local news since I was a high schooler . I was even more excited when she started her RU-vid channel because that meant more Dominique but in an even more personal way. And now Dominique has yet another way to watch and this is just as exciting. I was somewhat saddened when Dominique retired because she had been a name and face I had come to rely on as it related to news. Now that Dominique is back on the news I couldn’t be happier for her…and myself 😂. Congratulations Dominique. I cannot think of a more deserving person!!

So it’s a Christian morning show? A little confused. We have lots of different religions in the US, so I’m not understanding if it’s a news show. Nothing against Christian shows, just wondering about the audience. I’m not a Christian. just a little confused about what it is.
No, it was not. It was founded on freedom of religion and separation of church and state. A country that fosters each individual the freedom of individuality. Christianity is one religion, but not the only religion. Other religions have just as much importance as Christianity. Just saying! BTW I am a very proud Christian.

From someone who’s friends with banned journalists, Phil can’t pull off real truth. He would get banned and he is not gonna lose his money to tell the truth. We do not have free speech here.
@@MsGraciemacie unfortunately they will be the same, it’s beyond their control. Journalists who bring to light the facts are banned. They lose access to everything, like banking, payroll services, advertisers, internet. There is no free press/free speech.

I hope this works out well, but I do have a suspicion it is a conservative, right wing, singularly religious undertone that seems to go against the proposed idea of something unbiased. McGraw said himself that "Merit Street Media will be a resource of information and strategies to fight for America and its families, which are under a cultural 'woke' assault as never before." As a Christian myself, I can undoubtedly say that Jesus was the most "woke" there ever was. Plus, the term woke has a meaningful connection to Black history, so for McGraw to use it in a negative way tying it with the word, "assault" has a very concerning, questionable micro-aggressive tone. I was also disappointed to hear him say we shouldn't be giving "handouts". This is a conservative talking point. He did say he supports a "hand up" but he said he didn't support giving families $1,000 which is the premise of UBI. In fact, a universal basic income would stimulate creativity, inspiration, the freedom for people to work doing what they love, instead of struggling to live check to check, which many of us do (and which is probably unheard of for folks working for Merit Street). It would lift folks out of poverty, and allow families to find jobs *and* take care of their children. A growing body of research is showing the pilot programs of a guaranteed income works, and without it, America will remain with one of the worst rates of income inequality. I think government support for free lunches- especially children is a huge act of generosity, and I'd love for my tax money to support universal free lunch. These social supports don't negate hard work. Additionally, it's a concern as well hearing the "God talk"- whose God? The Christian God? Are people required to be Christian to work for Merit? Will Merit be open to employees and viewers of all faiths and non-faiths? I love the idea of unbiased media that reports fact-based only information, but I admit I am skeptical this venue will live up to that. I'll give it a good try, though. It’s absolutely what you fear it is. It’s a right wing platform. I really resent the wealthy Dominque giggling while Dr. Phil opined about Americans being lazy and expecting handouts. Millions of Americans are suffering because of the greed of billionaires who have us in a choke hold. The moral failings are not on the part of hardworking Americans. The failing is on the part of the greedy corporations and the politicians who ensure that they don’t pay their share of taxes.

That part of the intro would have been more fittingly delivered on April 1st. A strap placed on the bull’s hindquarters is used to create the pain that makes the bull buck. It is a cruel sport.

I've been a follower of your RU-vid content for a year or so and now I'm watching Merit. I want to say that I have been amazed at how I get this feeling of nostalgia, like "I remember, this is how the news used to sound". Really enjoying it so far! If they are open to segment topics I would love it if you could educate us more on how to find the truth. The segment on Russian based web info was great but it's so hard to try to educate yourself on important topics like immigration, the activities surrounding leaders without a slant. I'm not sure how to find reliable sources on my own to then have intelligent and productive conversations with others. Thanks for helping be a voice of truth!

Whatever happened to “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all? None of us have walked in Dominique’s shoes. She’s smart, talented and can/should choose whatever brings her joy. Can we not all just be happy for her and wish her the best in whatever path she chooses? That’s what I plan on doing.
