The loads each were 600 miles at 1100 (give or take) so I think that's where I was basing it off of. Damn I really missed that😂 good catch!

I flatbed hotshot the same lanes. I shut off my truck every night n use a -30 sleeping bag . Set the timer for my truck to start 30 mins b4 I wake up n my truck is nice n toasty when I get out of my bag in the morning

@@1005dragrcr I have a generator w me for my my PlayStation so during summer I put a window ac unit in my window. Anything over 65 I run the ac w gen power. Burn a gallon or two a night during the warmer months.

I have a few questions that I haven’t heard you mention if you get a chance. Do you have service on both phones? Do you run a digital log and transfer it to paper? How has your axle rating from your truck being srw effected you?

I have service on the one and I use my hotspot for the other. I'll be getting wifi for the truck soon so it'll be all wifi. I run the digital log and that's it, no paper. And the axle rating is physically higher than the gvwr of the truck. 11,640 pounds for all 4 rear tires. Gvwr is only 9k. I've had no issues yet. Truck is registered at 26,000 gross weight

Hey what's going on. I heard there's a nice piece of money in power only. My cousin quit his job as a head diesel mechanic and started doing it Where down south though you think that could be a factor on the rates$ What you think?

For power only you will definitely be out for 3 weeks at a time to make any money. I was consistently doing 4 to 5k a week(4k average) but I wanted to be home more so I stopped. Avoid Florida unless you have a load coming out before you head in. It's a dead zone for anything

Someone probably already said It's the wiring, your connection need soldier, shakin (call out to E.$$$) the wires means a loose connection. Gauge is FINE

Yeah on this one it's the connector going to the pressure sensor. I unhooked it and it's all perfect without a read out. I've always had issues though. Boost gauge zeroes out at 2psi. I need a new wire harness from the gauge to the sensor

Get your cdl before Feb 7th or you'll have to go to school to get it. As for power only I hated it. I prefer having a trailer. More money and more home time

@@CPSteveMiller Thanks so much. My plan is to buy a new dually (F-350 or something, not sure yet) and do some contract "gig" hauling while learning to drive with a trailer. I want to haul cars primarily here in CA. I feel the gig driving will get me experience and allow for some flexibility and decent money. I come from a financial services/sales background but got fed up with the pressure and stress and want to forge my own way. I am 53 but still strong physically. Trying to navigate it all and position myself as best as I possibly can. Your vids have been awesome, thank you. I am worried about the maintenance costs as you seem to always have truck problems. I could not possibly fix a truck myself (other than a tire or the really simple stuff). That gives me pause.

I'm actually only running a regular law book and still figuring out the new rules myself. General rule of thumb, 14 hours max shift length, 11 hours of drive allowed, 30 minute break is required within the 11 hour shift(can be on duty), and then after 14 hours you are required 10 off. The log book will tell you when you need to do anything though. You should always have the cycles up on a screen and it'll update automatically. Hope this helps! Idk enough to make a video on it though but maybe in the future. Safe travels!

With the current rules you only need a 30 min break within 8hrs of driving. It used to be after 8 hrs on duty time before you could drive again. Don't forget you can take the break while on duty fueling or anything else as long as your not driving.

@@tfate123 Yep. Found that out after a few days but that's super helpful. 30 minute break I can get my fuel fill up in, bathroom, and snacks. I think I got the hang of it finally😅

What spacer are you running on the rear tires so that they clear?

2" between the duals is all you need for 35s. If you're running stock wheels make sure you get hub centric ones or the outer wheel will not center and it'll vibrate.

What kind of mpg are you getting with the 12 valve pulling, and what gear ratio in the rears?

I'm messing with it a little but to dial it in but empty I was getting 12.9. That was with no wastegate and a 180 thermostat. Now I got 15.3 by replacing the wastegate and a 195 t stat. I haven't done the miles loaded but there's a ton of variables. I'll be messing with the wastegate and fueling in the next couple videos to try and improve it a little. Stock I was getting 19 with 33" tires and no fuel mods

So coolant temp is not getting warm enough for good heat, and not a heater core flow issue? If you used a fan shroud when you did the swap, you could take it off and see if it helps raise coolant temp.

The stock thermostat is 180 degrees on the 12 valve. I got a 195 for a big block as per the forums so I'll do an update video.

What do you recommend that will be good? I definitely want a good all around tire. The ones I have do great everywhere but are overkill and noisy on the highway. I still need "some" offroad performance for certain drops.

Imo tell us gauge readings. You don’t need to play with camera while driving. Safety issue. Please mention cities. It’s fine not mentioning companies. Wouldn’t having a trailer to haul 2 at once? Be worth it? Dang 9 minutes in. You said MN... It was where i thought in MN. (Most likely). I thought that looked familiar. BTW iirc WA state is a state they didn’t allow steering knobs without a medical reason. It might be changed.... or urban legend. ;) Figure $.10 mile maintenance. Not fuel. But everything else. Oil, tires, repairs.. put that into maintenance, replacement fund. As you do your own work... maybe $.05 a mile. But 50k it’s only $2500.after tires, oil changes... no new truck fund.

The camera thing is fine it's just a button and aim at myself. No different than holding the shifter while driving, searching my laptop for loads, using my phone to mess with the log book or music, etc. I will definitely be getting a trailer at some point. I always put money back when I get paid so I know I won't ever go broke. I appreciate the ideas, keep it coming. Working on filming every day so videos should be once a week. Safe travels!
