I stumbled upon a video with the strange title "cold noods" and ended up watching all of your videos. While I was watching, I unconsciously started to cry. I lived in Korea for seven years, but I had to leave during the COVID period because I couldn't solve my visa problems. As you probably know, getting a visa in Korea as a foreigner is extremely difficult, almost the most difficult in the world. At that time, it seemed like the only way to get a visa was through marriage, haha. To be honest, I didn't leave on good terms, so Korea became a place of mixed feelings for me. I had been trying hard to ignore those feelings, but watching your video brought back memories of the places I used to frequent, and tears started to flow without me realizing it. I also loved riding bikes in Korea. I'm in Italy now, which is a good place to ride, but the feeling of riding through the alleys, past the tall buildings, and reaching the Han river in Korea is something I can't replicate here. I miss those times so much.
I've begun to love tinkering with my bike and doing work on it myself. The other day, I switched out my handlebars and installed new brake levers and cables all by myself! I felt so proud! Thanks for inspiring me to ride my bike! :D
Yeah, for sure wouldn't be the same Probably Riding without your intro and music (your wife was right!). I don't watch with kids, but I feel like we should be educating the future generations about the f#%k cars movement 😅😂 Thanks for another great video 💚
Thanks for covering Rookey bikes. I saw his work on YT at the Portland Bike Maker's Show and was blown away at his craftsmanship. I'm amazed at how much skill he has for the limited time he has been a frame builder. He's a tremendous talent.
You're such a chill dude, I love your videos. I was thinking about your channel today while riding my bike and overthinking. It helped with just enjoying the moment :)
Man I wish I could afford the lovely bikes you show in your vids. I only have a $200 cheapo all-stock Trinx MTB for my commute/strolls/errands. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love riding it as a matter of fact I have over 4k km on it. It's just I get a wee bit envious of the gorgeous bikes I see. Really really love your videos, it makes me want to ride for no reason at all! ❤
Great to hear the word plethora on RU-vid plus also good to see it related to bike lanes. Nice that you had a pause between phase one and the tension part. Free Palestine! ✊
@@probablyridingDo you follow or recommend any similar channels? Mellow rides, nice scenery, good food and music? Edit: never mind. I just found the links on your community page👍
Great stuff man! Well done on the wheel and thank you for another lovely video. I’m living vicariously living in Seoul. I must figure out what a cortado is and where I can find one here.
You're a brave man for tackling wheel-building. I have Jobst Brandt's book on wheel building and a truing stand, but have not summoned the patience and self-forgiveness to try it. Also, I'm here for the swearing at cars. Don't take that away from us.
do it! - I find the only daunting task to be determining spoke lengths. But online calculators are really helpful. If you can, measure your hubs and rims ERD before you order your spokes. it's much more rewarding to have the right length of spokes from the get go, than to realise halfway thru the wheelbuild that they are either too short, or too long. :D (happend to me). Also, patience is key. And start with a 3cross lacing pattern. :)
rim builder @ velocity here, there’s a chance i made or helped make those standalones! :) hope the wheelset works out well for you, love the videos as always ✌️✌️
I've binged your videos lately and look forward to each new one every week! I've never seen how bicycle wheels are assembled before and it was really interesting. I'm spending a lot more time on my bike lately thanks to you. Sadly the lovely classic steel bikes like the ones you have seem almost impossible to find here in Iceland, but I can dream of owning one some day!
I started my first wheelbuild 1,5 years ago out of necessity since I couldn't find any nice silver hubs with silver spokes and rims. I since had to replace a handful of nipples due to me squashing them when building the wheels :D - I've built a couple of wheels for my vintage bikes since then, because they come with 126mm O.L.D. and you don't find those prebuilt anymore. Being able to wheelbuild opens up a whole world of opportunites, so kudos for learning it and getting into it. (I used a video from a trials rider Ali Clarkson - cannot reccomend enough!)
Hey, just wanted to say that I absolutely love your videos. You've inspired me to commute to my university by bike and it often really is the best part of my day. Even now when I'm during my exam period I try to ride my bike as much as I can. Thanks, cheers from Poland!
i love how calm your videos are :) i was wondering if it would be possible to have a video on building a bike from scratch? i'd imagine it would be really nice to both watch and listen to your narration of your process!
I love your videos so much! you make biking look so fun and relaxing. I am going to buy a vintage bike for myself soon from a local shop and I hope it will replace the need to drive a car 🚲🚲
For me, you have invented the “skedaddle.” Every single time I get a notification that you have posted a new video, I hit a quick skedaddle to make a cup of coffee. Then I skedaddle to find a comfortable seat so that I can watch undisturbed. 😂 I enjoy every second of your content. Thank you for continuing to post. It’s nice to have these moments of pure enjoyment each week!❤
Hi! I love all your videos your content is so inspiring and relaxing. I’ve started biking so much more and taking my time and I love it so much. I like when you mention what something is called in Korean but would love it if I could read how it’s being pronounced and spelled. Hello and Thank You from Victoria, Canada!
LOVE! Thanks for taking the time to shoot, edit and share another video. I have a slight buckle in my rear when that I'm going to see if I can true out myself this weekend 🍉
@@probablyriding thank you! I said this guy just tides his bike goes and gets coffee and does a voiceover. It’s so refreshing compared to people screaming at you to subscribe.
I'm building my old 1985 Ross Mount Whitney into a touring bike. I'm doing it for two reasons. 1. It was my first bike that I bought when I went to college, and I can't bear to part with it but it's just collecting dust now. 2. I want to learn how to fix anything on it and maintain it myself.
Anyone else notice the resemblance between Bonanza's interior design and Coava's (now closed) location in SW Portland? I miss that location and their green wall.
Velocity Blunt SS 27.5" polished rims White Industries CLD polished hub set Sapim Laser spokes. Pretty spicey DIY wheelset once I get all my parts in. Sapim only recommends pros touching their Laser spokes but I want to give it a go. They also claim their Laser spokes absorb sock and dampen vibration. I'm interested in whether that's the case. Supple wheelset paired with supple tires like from Rene Herse.
You should check this penknife out, it’s a Mercator Buckels, from Otter knives, a great breakfast knife blade, very handy for on the go, hiking etc, without the worry if your penknife is legal, not sure of laws in Korea , I used to cycle a lot but stopped for whatever reason, but your videos are giving me a itch. Thanks
@@Ey_upit’s just a Mercator handle with the buckel blade, traditional German breakfast knife, it would be better quality over a opinel knife, you can get butter knives from all over with different designs, but otter are hand finished, and can be addictive penknives to buy, have a few opinel myself also , great basic knife for a very good price
Ex-German Chancellor Merkel once said, “Cyclists do have their own interpretation of traffic rules. But we are not pushing hard for obeying the rules, but for better and more bike paths and as far as helmets go for cyclists, we focus on the voluntary usage and not bringing in laws for that.”..So.. yeah, there is no right or wrong in cycling. Just ride responsibly.😅
ahh the bromptons in the shot and one of them has that child seat that i've been looking at! dying to know if people actually like it for carrying children
