My Fish Building FLOODED... 

One thing to remember is the old salt water is bigger area wise. If you are thinking about sharks/rays/ any other predator fish. They will do better with more area. The depth doesn't matter. Your first pond is shallow but big. The new one is deep but the bottom floor is small. This us better for reef fish. Both a very pretty. Good luck friend

Yes,you should build a reef in the new SW pond but you should also add a reef to the other SW Lund, put it in the front part and please make it full of caves so it will pull more of the fish and the eels to the front of that pond.

You should install a drain in the building over there just in case of mishaps like that if possible

On my cousin's pig farm, they had these big circular bins for the food. Several locations around the bend had little doors that the pigs lifted up with their snout so they could eat whatever was in but it was still protected from rain or birds getting in. Did you ever check into something like that ? Maybe then all the pigs would have an equal chance of getting the food and not being bullied by the big ones.

Well, no leaks is great news. When I saw the water on the floor I thought maybe Brenten jinxed You, considering his past with leaks in his own ponds, but luckily, it wasn't anything to do with Brenten. you definitely need some more structure and corals in the reef pond! More towards the windows, you’d see the fish way better. even some plants would give a more natural/realistic appearance

The left pond is bigger in size for fish. As in surface horizontal area wise. The right one is just deeper but he keeps saying the right one is bigger lol just cause its higher and deeper. Like a 125 standard or 120 gallon long fish tank is lot better for fish than 150 gallon tall

Of course, I always believed in you and Hector and the beautiful construction and jobs that you create. I did freak a moment when I saw all of the water but you immediately put me out of my misery by saying you forgot the water. I’m very happy for you that nothing too important got ruined a couple of times. Our sump pump went out in our basement and everything got flooded and we weren’t very smart in the first place and we had thousands and thousands dollars Damage but fortunately that did not happen to you and that gorgeous gorgeous planned is gorgeous. I’d love the way you snuck up on Brenton, he was so sure he was going to get you. I love it. I absolutely just love watching you characters together. I can hardly wait for him to move to Florida. I’m just truly grateful that you have such a passion for all of these beautiful animals and I just really grateful that you show such great positive feedback, and so forth. A rock wall that kinda builds a cave towards one corner of the glass would be cool so u get like a view into the fishes cave.. be cool way to see some different behavior them holed up in a shelter

I agree with all the others & what you originally said you were going to do,, Using the round freshwater pond for the saltwater predatory fish pond,, It would be perfect because the predatory saltwater fish don't need depth (Like the new saltwater pond) Instead they need more surface area & they (Sharks & Rays) also love being able to swim in circles,, Which is something else that the new saltwater pond doesn't provide..I would suggest making an epic cave & reef system in the new saltwater pond,, Then adding the fish from the old saltwater pond into the new one..Then set up the old saltwater pond the way you want it to be for your freshwater fish..Which leaves you with the old freshwater pond to set up perfectly for the new saltwater predatory fish pond..THAT my friend would be the best ALL the way round for the fish & you..At least give it some serious thought Paul..Thanks for ALL your time & effort you put in to your videos for our enjoyment/entertainment. ❤

The daddy longlegs thing is a total urban legend. It's hard to tell from the video if that was a harvestman or a pholcid house spider (both are called daddy longlegs in different regions) but neither are "deadly" in any sense of the word. Harvestmen aren't venomous at all and in fact aren't even spiders. They're easy to identify because their body is one solid segment. Pholcid spiders do technically have venom, as all spiders do, and they can bite (though they rarely do) but their venom is even weak on the insects they prey upon and is medically insignificant for humans.

That flood could have been so much worse! It doesn't look like it got to do any damage. The rug was a little wet. But as long as it mostly stayed away from any wood aquarium bases, a little aquarium submersible clears that out quickly! (Speaking from experience in our aquarium room!) 😀

the harvestmen spider (better known as Daddy Long-leg) is in fact venomous and in fact do have fangs that CAN penetrate human skin, the venom is NOT very toxic, as it only leaves a mild burning sensation

That silicone needs a couple weeks to cure properly. I wait 2 weeks for aquarium reseals. Then 1 - 2 week long water tests.

At least it doesn't leak but all that moisture is not good for the wood of the reef pond. The inside is epoxied but the bottom being plywood pressed between bare concrete and epoxy could definitely create future moisture issues. Fingers crossed that just the pressure of the water in the tank keeps the wood so pressed to the floor that moisture can't even penetrate beyond the sill.

Put a bracelet around your water spigot and when you turn your water on put the bracelet on. That way you won’t forget it’s on bc you’ll see the bracelet and remember. Turn water off place the bracelet back on spigot. I’ve over flowed my koi pond a time or two lol. Keep it up. Love the videos.

Hey brother as a Plummer you should look into putting a drain in your floor . It is still possible to do even know your building is already finished and concrete done .

I am so glad the flooded water was not from one of the ponds, well sort of, but it didn't come from a hole in the pond. The pigs and goats must enjoy eating off of the concrete slabs. Great video Paul.

All these are my favorite videos to watch. I do have a question. Where are your compost, piles? And how do you use your compost around your property?

Realistically it doesn't matter because it's your property but when pouring concrete you really want to put a base of gravel instead of pouring straight onto dirt, especially an area that floods/gets super wet and mushy. the slab will sink in areas and ultimately crack.

Reef style would be more than rad. But make it BUSY. Lots of rock. Get slate to make a shelf. Etc. great video Paul!

Make your glued reef rock decor come from the back right corner and arch into the center so the predators can swim through it
