Hi Everyone!
This video is about my foot surgery experience. Not only am I am foot and ankle surgeon, but I personally have experience with foot surgery myself, not just once, but twice! I had bunion surgery in 2013, and then a hardware removal in 2019. I discuss my experience, my feelings, my opinions, and my recommendations for anyone considering foot surgery. I also talk about my foot surgery recovery, what I felt and my tips for healing from surgery. I hope this video helps you with your foot surgery if you need it! Please leave any questions you may have in the comments section down below.

What is a CALCANEAL LENGTHENING OSTEOTOMY, THE 1ST TARSOMETATARSAL JOINT FUSION
@DrNooreenIbrahim
@DrNooreenIbrahim 2 года назад
@@malikstv240 a calcaneal lengthening osteotomy is likely an evans osteotomy which basically helps out the heel bone back in a recurs position. A tarsometatarsal fusion is fusing one of your metatarsal bones to the bone below it

Thank you so much for your insightful explanation of your experience as a patient and as a surgeon. I had hallux rigidous arthrodesis on my left foot 1.5 weeks ago. I will be non weight bearing for at least six weeks but possibly longer. Part of this is because I have osteoporosis (I’m 69 yo) and my surgeon commented that my bones were softer than he expected. I REALLY appreciate your honesty. It’s helping me be as knowledgeable as I can be and helping me with what I can be doing to help my foot heal. I am dreading the surgery on my right foot more because the surgeon will have to address three bony areas. Thank you again.

I had bunion surgery 19 days ago on my right foot. I still have to fix my left foot. My bunions are pretty large. I woke up from surgery with no pain and walked out of the hospital about 3 hours after my surgery, using a post op shoe; but I had to walk on my heel. My surgeon said using a cane or crutches wouldn't be necessary but I can use them if I felt I needed to. I took pain meds for the first 2 days even though I didn't feel much pain. I just wanted to stay ahead of any pain that may have developed. I iced and elevated religiously for the first 2 weeks. I'm still elevating when I'm off my feet and I ice only when I'm on my feet for a long time and they start to get uncomfortable. I'll finally get to see what my foot looks like in 3 days when I get my bandages and stitches removed. I'll still have to wear the surgical shoe for another 3 weeks. It helps to prepare yourself before surgery by watching videos from people who went through the procedure as well as videos of the actual procedure. Reading all the comments on how painful the healing would be, I was prepared for the worse pain. Thank goodness I didn't experience any of that pain.

I just had bunionette correction surgery. The pain is really bad so far. I never thought it would be this bad. I heard bunionette surgery? Ehh that can't be bad. I'll be back to work in a week. 😂😂😂. Definitely not going back to work. It's been 5 days already and I'm not happy about it. Swelling is going up into my calf now
