So interesting, I actually don't have the same taste in decks but I truly love how you are able to express the feelings and personal meanings that decks evoke.( I do love animal decks so I might look for the Badger Forest). But you rascal! You really had me excited for a minute because I thought there was a Pratchett deck of some kind, but NO, dang it. Pratchett is my all time life teacher, I wish someone would make a good discworld deck. Thanks!

This was my first time visiting your channel. I really enjoyed seeing all your picks. I was a big Cyndi Lauper fan back in the day. The Guided Hand Tarot has one of my fave Chariot cards. 😁 The Hidden Forest Oracle reminds me of a Lenormand deck with its size and simple images. 💜
Aw, thank you and welcome! Had to go back and look for the Chariot (I always forget about the chariot card in decks), but YEAH it's really good! Love the concept, love the spacey background. Hidden Forest is totally like a lenormand! You could probably read it in a similar way with a lot of cards spelling something out.

FOR REAL I live in Salem, MA, and even now most places that sell tarot decks keep them behind the counter or behind glass and you have to ask to get a closer look, because "steal your first deck" was so pervasive that tourists would frequently steal decks! Insane! I totally get the feeling you'd enjoy the Hidden Forest Oracle! Such a cutie that deck. Jinkx Monsoon did not mean anything to me... but I did a quick search and wow, that's an amazing compliment ; ^ ; (I watched her rendition of "When You're Good to Mama" from Chicago - incroyable!) P.S. welp, you finally got me, I'm making a DIY Lenormand deck as I write this and I'm having so much fun I can sense it will be a new obsession. I'll send you a copy as thanks when I'm done, if you don't mind hand-cut cardstock :P

Ohh wow i been living under a rock apparently, because apart from the rws i don’t think i’ve ever seen any of those decks 😂😂😂 there is this thing you talked about in the video, about the fantasy selves and projected selves 🤔🤔 could you expland a little bit on that idea, i find it fascinating. I sometimes get the sense that my taste in decks is a little offbeat xD so don't worry about it, haha. I'm so glad you're interested! I attempted to write a summary about the fantasy selves, projected selves, etc., because it's a really interesting concept that I loved learning about in my philosophy classes. But I definitely had a hard time summarizing it in RU-vid-comment length. I am working on writing my thoughts up and I will post it to my blog and send you a link this weekend!
I had not heard the steal your first deck part - but I like it (be gay do crime lol). While I was gifted my first decks, I wasn’t told it was a necessity, although I soon learned some folks felt that way. I didn’t like the decks I was gifted in the beginning and don’t have them today.
Haha sorry that's probably my chapter title's fault xD It's really good! I totally recommend it. The creator Katie Skelly does some really cool comics too - I highly recommend searching your local library system for "The Maids"

Bohemian Animals - I love that this is “you” without the cool interests. Makes for a great base. Also makes me wonder about what deck could be that for me… Hi Dog! Guided Hand Tarot - love the theory of “proof i was there’s and totally get you on that. I’ve seen this deck before on Etsy and it piqued my interest. Now i think i need it. The kitsch factor is v nice. It’s def cooler than it lets on. Blind The Sun - WTF is this?? I need this. I love you but i h8te you but i love you Autonomic - wanted this ever since i first saw it and probs for the same reason you like it. It just oozes cool. It’s like Apparition’s older sibling that majors in philosophy and performance art. Bad Girl’s Tarot - i have the bad girls oracle and thought it couldn’t get better but i was wrong. Almost got this on FB once. Wish I had. I wanna be in that gang is a sentiment i never thought I’d have before. New Wave Tarot - again, a great origin story. A wonderful deck. We love to see it. Witchy Cat - currently in my Etsy cart. There is something so vintage weird about this deck. Like Stray Cats. Rockabilly cats, classic Hollywood cats, noir cats. All comic/zine style. It’s just too good.
I think you'd be shortchanged if we merged collections because I don't think I have as many decks as you :P "majors in philosophy and performance art" oh my god, for real. I totally wanted to get the Bad Girl Oracle too but it was out of stock at the time! Seems to be back in now sooooo.... might have to do it >.< Glad you enjoyed and glad you think I'm cool haha
Very much enjoyed your run through. But have now fallen in love with the Blind the Sun Illustrated Tarot. Is there anyway I could get my hands on this amazing deck?
It is a beaut! I'm poking around and unfortunately it looks like it's currently out of print. But the creator does do reprints somewhat frequently, so keep an eye on blindthesun.com! I've also seen used copies come up on Etsy and Ebay a lot for $30-$60. So luckily it shouldn't be too hard to find compared to other OOP decks :)
