She could’ve smelled or sensed Moon, Storm, or Wolfie, possibly Sakura, and she could’ve felt threatened or unsafe so she attempted to hide or move her babies in an attempt to keep them safe and protected
Dogs hide their puppies to protect them from predators. If the bed is where she gave birth, she is trying to destroy it to rid the area of the scent of blood that would tell predators there is a weak new mother and tender babies nearby. I love you videos!!!
she may be tearing up her bed because she is stressed out, anxious, or bored. Boredom is often the easiest to understand. ... Dogs who chew their beds often hold the bed down with their front feet and bite down, then pull upward with the neck to tear the bed apart.
My dog used to tear up the pads overnight due to boredom. I had to actually stop using them for about a year and a half, but now she stopped tearing them to shreds. She is also a high energy herding dog, so she gets bored quickly
Joey u should get a security camera to check on the puppy's and if that happens again ull know wata do Edit: woah I didn't expect this to get this many likes! Tysm 😲😁
@@PhatAsss Dogs can smell scents even on washed blankets. That is the whole concept behind "sniffer dogs" in missing person/murder cases. When the murderer washes the evidence, the dogs can still smell it.
@@MusaKitty Escalation of concern? Coyotes outside the garage door? Moon barking particularly loud that day? Boredom? Joey would need a camera to get an idea of what is stressing her out.
She was out in the streets for about 3-4 days. Animal Control was able to easily get her. It took me 2 full days to rescue one of her puppies because she was scared & did not trust humans.
@oikawa I live in the same area as well but more near the mall. There’s many strays here especially since we’re in the desert. Throughout these 2 months I rescued about 10 strays already! ):
@oikawa Strays don’t usually stay in one area unless if they’re dumped... Most of the strays I rescued didn’t stay in the same area , they always moved. Her & her 2 puppies stayed at the same area though & someone witness them being dumped there. They haven’t left since they were dumped
you should name the puppies after plants (juniper ”june” maybe , sage, rosemary, willow, linden, basil, alder, marigold, iris , ivy, oak, lilac, posy, tansy, rowan, palm, and soooo many more cute ones!)
I dont think she likes when you touch her puppies. She stands up every time when you hold one of her puppies. Maybe she had a bad experience with people and now she is careful.
Often times dogs will move their puppies when they feel their puppies are in danger. Or sometimes it’s just when the like another spot better than the one before.
@@JoeyGraceffaVlogs if your gonna out a bed in there go to pet smart or petco and get the biggest dog bed you can find and cover that in blanketed like you do since she still leaks she might like that better that tub is small for her let alone the 6 babies
After watching your recent videos of her I realized I have her puppy! Her backstory is that she was dumped behind a vacant parking lot with her 2 other female puppies, who are about 8 months old. I currently am fostering one of the puppies & someone else is keeping the sister while you have the momma !! Thanks for taking good care of her. She definitely deserves all the love in the world !
She’s moving them to what feels like a den, the paddling pool is out in the open so doesn’t feel safe to her you should try putting something like a table over the pool with blankets hanging over it to make it feel more like a den she should feel more comfortable then
@@stars_inthe_sky yess I love waking up every morning looking at my notifications to see that joey has adopted a new pregnant animal it’s so fun to watch his videos and watch the puppies/kittens grow and watch your favourites personalities come through
Joey I got this from google, it’s super cool to know- “Dogs hide their puppies to protect them from predators. If the bed is where she gave birth, she is trying to destroy it to rid the area of the scent of blood that would tell predators there is a weak new mother and tender babies nearby.”
maybe she can smell your dogs and is feeling threatened so she moved them where she thinks they are all safe or it could be that the pool you have her in is starting to feel cramped and she needs more room. what ever the case your doing a fantastic job and she and the pups are all looking amazing. xx
I think the tub is too small she moved them to the open and created a giant spot with blankets and she only wanted the soft ones so maybe she’s worried about warmth
@@JoeyGraceffaVlogs I think they move them around because they get nervous around us. They know our intentions are not to hurt them but they are scared for their babies. Some animals even abandon their babies when humans touch them because of the sent. Not saying she is going to do that she seems like a really good mom.
She actually was easier to catch than her 2 other puppies she was dumped with. She just growled a bit but that’s totally normal as I bet she was scared of all the people trying to get them.
@@JoeyGraceffaVlogs omg you replied your my fave youtuber i love that you’re fostering them and that will really help mama with her babies luv u ur the best 🥺😁
If she doesn't have a name, I think Kanga like Kanga and Roo from Winnie the Pooh would be great since she's so caring and hops like a kangaroo for her food😂
Hey Joey, my dogs a rescue and your dog seems to be acting a lot like mine. My dog always freaks out when she's getting fed and eats her food so fast like she won't get another meal, this means that she's probably been malnourished at some point in her life. She's probably just acting out because she's had this past trauma and she wants to protect her puppies. If this is already obvious I'm sorry but I hope I've helped!
I don't think she was necessarily hiding her puppies from you I think she is just bored. Since she looks to be belgian malinois or part of one, they get bored super easily. Mals are the smartest dog breeds out there and they need a lot of mental stimulation. You should give her a kong with peanut butter frozen into it as it will keep her busy, but I am not sure how long, or if she is has possessiveness over food. Belgians will definitely shred whatever if they are bored, she was probably just moving them because she felt like it was unsafe for them to be there. I think the shredding was just her being bored though.
This is what I found on google. “We do know dogs will move their baby puppies if they think they are in danger. ... We know a mother dog will move her baby puppies if she feels unsafe or threatened. It's a way of protectin' 'em from predators”.
If she was a stray, they constantly move and redo the "nest", so they'll move them from say under a house into a hole they been digging close by and when the pups are moved they will actually destroy any sign that there was a nest there.. no scents, to the untrained 👀 eye it would look like a pile of rubble...
Pls name them after Olympian gods and goddesses it would be so cute for example: Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, Ares, Artemis, and Zeus. Obviously u wouldn’t need to name them exactly after those specific gods/goddesses but I just thought those names were cute
I got an idea! Before you go to bed, record her night routines using one of your cameras and have night mode on so you can see what goes on with her and her pups at night (Like so Joey can see!! 💙)
Lol Joey you should set up a camera and see what there up to when your not around...yes it would cute and probably funny to watch but idk she’s making me alittle nervous 😬 sometimes if they feel neglected or abandoned etc they’ll kill the puppies 😢 idk I just think it would be great for now and in the future bc if she’s showing any signs of odd behavior you can take the puppies away (if it’s for there best interest)
Try not to panic she's in a safe place and the pups are super healthy, I agree a baby monitor would be a great idea, her behaviours prob comes from having to fend for herself in the past. My baby fur ball is called Roo! She is rescued from Romania X Lime is so cute ❤️
Can we just take a second to appreciate how kind and thoughtful Joey is. ❤️🥺 he rescues so many animals from danger and death and just has such a big heart! ❤️💖
maybe dear joey experience from her past pregnant perhaps her previous owner take away her babies from her that is why mama dog hid her babies from u shes afraid it will happen again past incidence sometimes register in their innocent mind but because of your love and care eventually it will replace the past mama dog feels the love and care you show sure she will trust you...dogs can see and feel if a person is compassionate they can see and feel that through your face and gestures be patient soon she will leave all her babies to youGod bless you dear joey and your kind friend young lady💕💕💕💐💐💐❤️❤️🌻🌸🏵️👍👍👍a piece of advice you watch takis shelter sure you will learn from him for the record papa takis himself have 450 dogs puppies cats and kittens in all in takis land and all of it are stray whom papa takis rescued and now they are takis family one big happy family home sweet home all happy wagging tails 💕💕💕💐💐💐❤️❤️🐅🌺🏵️🌸🌻
Animals will try to hide their children from Human if they do not feel safe, if they do not want you touching them, you have to listen to her, listen to her body language, listen to what she's trying to tell you, and respond in the right way, my cat that we just got spayed a while ago, has had five litters, and with two or three of them just tried to move the multiple times, she did not feel safe, she did not feel okay with where the kittens were, she wanted to move them we listen, we didn't touch them as much as we were, and we tried to make it as safe as possible for her. Also why is she in your garage? If your going to faster anyanimal you want them to feel like there being loved, and at home not scared and (most likely) cold.
the dog isn’t in the garage all day long and i would assume he’s doing as he did with his last dog and letting her out to roam around outside and out of the gate when she isn’t feeding or sleeping, and i think there is a heat lamp in the back! that’s what it looks like to me, also windows for light/heat to come through, and if the dog wasn’t comfy with him she would surely show it, i don’t think she would let him come very close to the pups
Hey Joey I don’t know if you know this but I’m pretty sure that your mama dog you rescued is a Belgian Malinois and those dogs are most used for police work and military service because they require constant stimulation and if they don’t have something to do all the time they are unhappy and start acting out Also dogs move their puppies to hide them from predators and if she gave birth on a mat dogs will try and rip up the bed to hide their scent
as a dog breeder (not a kennel one) Some dogs feel a lot safer in cages then anything else (I have a dog like that and she's pregnant) and the pups shouldn't get caught in the bars of it
Well she has had babies in the pass you can tell. She lived on the streets, so her passed litters where on the streets and constantly moving them to keep them safe so I think she is still doing that or trying to.
