Nice. I have a Travel Lite 690FD hard sided camper, made specifically for a mid size truck. I ran it for 10 years on my 2008 regular cab 4x4 but just gave that truck to my daughter, am in the process of moving it to a 2022 TRD Sport Access Cab 4x4. These trucks handle campers fine.
Yup!Just got a 2022 Tacoma and have a 4 Wheel Camper on order .. the Swift model. I get it in two weeks. Will be nice to have a camper rather then camping out of my old Ford Explorer or the Subaru Crosstrek I traded on the Tacoma.
Great video. Would you be able to show the mounting points in the box? You mention the "short bed install mounts". I am looking to put the same camper in my 5ft. Tacoma and wonder how much I would have to alter the box to mount it. Thank you.
If you google or contact FWC tell them you need the mounts for a short bed. They are where the turnbuckles will mount to since our bed is composite you do not want to mount to the little mounts we have in the bed. The mounts from FWC screw into the bed bolts and you mount off those large pieces of metal. I do not have any pictures currently but when I do get ready to put this back on for the summer shortly I will try to upload a video
How much does your camper weigh? Do you use airbags in the back or E rated tires? People have a tendency not to pay attention to going over the weight of the truck. 🖖
