No. If you play Lotto there are equal chances, but in FPL you have players which are more likely to get points than others. For example having haaland or delap and excpecting those scoring is not the same chance you know?
I think you are approaching this wrong. Wasn't you that said it was a marathon and not a sprint. Think this isn't the time to be going with differentials all the time.
The way he talks is like he doesn’t understand that probability has no memory… like he says what are the odds Gabriel scores 3 times in a row? Well the answer is much higher now that he’s already got 2 in row!
I'm not going different for the sake of going different. My point is that if my team vs. a WC6 is very similar, why not opt for the team that is going to be full of differentials, take the risk
This is the year of the differential. My current rank proves it. I'm not wild carding this week. The defining factors are being able to stack transfers and the fact that FPL finally got prices right!
@@billdurrant9085 Playing a game not to win is weird for me - if its a passtime then cool but its hard to offer people guidance on your passtime if you don't care if you or the people listening succeed
Im enjoying not playing WC. Playing against grain is exciting. WC12 looks good. But damn...i hate carrying Barco/Bergvall. Only got one ARS asset thou 😬
The problem is 'high rank' is a ever changing perspective. Wherever you are (unless 1) you are always chasing higher and if you are 1 you have a different pressure of staying there. If rank is the measure of enjoyment EVERYONE is going to be disappointed @@FPLRaptor
@@FPLRaptorI understand what you’re saying, and you’re right, this is all for fun. But part of the enjoyment (for me) is making decisions and seeing those choices validated by scoring points. But FPL in its place always. I really enjoy your vids anyway man. 😊
@@FPLRaptoragreed. The stress and depression I feel being at a late 100k rank is real. I'm trying to find ways to enjoy the game. Picking palmer over Luis Diaz was depressing as heck whilst watching the Liverpool vs Bournemouth game. I want to avoid hate watching matches to see certain players fail. Hahahah
It’s that big salah plays it and Haaland family lol even bruno fernades says after the first game of the season he let his owners down so they are all tuned into it and I love it haha what a game
@@FPLRaptor That is the great thing with FPL, we pay for our opinions with points. 😁 Though I would counter that Newcastle at home with the Toon Army have the extra man, if Newcastle were away I would be tempted to agree with you.
raya, gabriel, poro, andersen, smithrowe, salah, barnes, mbeumo, onana, haaland, watkins BENCH : fabianski, vardy, faes,Harwood-Bellis team value :101.3 YES it is a wildcard team thoughts?
i know not having haaland this week is scary but watkins and salah can match wc teams especially as i got saka as well.i probably take -4 if raya out ...can get haaland next week
As a spurs fan, not picking any Arsenal assets. Wondering if TAA and Robbo would be a decent double up? I know the fixtures turn a bit sour, but feels like a comeback year for Robertson.
The wildcard isn’t just about a team shift for that week it sets you up for the future. For me a wildcard is the play for you here. Not having Haaland is a team killer alone but a wildcard also allows a momentum shift now rather than later.
Also, wildcarding now allows you to build a team you want in the future while you can still afford it... hold off too long, and you could be outpriced from building the team that can help you gain rank
Ross you’re doing just fine, don’t doubt yourself 🦖🦖 it was a risk to go without Haaland and bench Gabriel but those risks weren’t without reason. I like delaying the WC, your team could smash it this week
My wild card is active and I currently have Jackson, Watkins,Haaland, Mbeumo, Palmer, Rogers, Semenyo, Arnold, Gabriel, Van der berg and Raya Starting. With Smith Rowe, greaves and Faes as subs in that order. I think I am happy with this although like yourself begrudge taking out Salah and Jota also Gvadol to do so. And I now have three 4 m defenders. I am committed now and obviously the results will tell the tail. But what are your thoughts on this as a team and also the move. And would you recommend Saka over Palmer going forward?
Any other Jota owners still putting off the switch to Mbuemo this week? I know he's a minutes risk, but he scored twice midweek, and is against his former club this weekend 😕
The social media hemisphere of FPL has dampened the fun that was once attatched to it. Making organic choices and having personal favourites is essential. Balance is needed! if you just have an AI XI then.. where is the fun. When you get points... can you really take any pride? you copied someone elses homework.....
Darwin scored a cracker last week but hasn’t impressed otherwise, so I agree Jota comes in against Wolves. And you’re right, wildcarders will likely only have TAA from ‘pool if any. So triple Liverpool could be dynamite this week Ross. I already wildcarded gw3 but have 2FT and can do Salah/Watkins to Haaland/Semenyo this week, but for that reason (and Watkins has Ips!) think I’ll just roll and get the robot gw7 🤖
@@SayfTheDeen struggling. marginally better than Ross at 3.2m but wildcarding out Haaland/Diaz gw3 has killed me 😞. That's why I'm putting off following the template this week - some mistaken belief I'm due some fortune from the FPL gods
Love the content Ross and I’ll still be watching your videos for advice as I love your data driven insights! A quick question, thoughts on Porro to Saliba for your FT? I feel Porro isn’t getting forward as much with Maddison and Kule and leaking goals…. You could then do Henderson to Flekken in GW7 and hold the WC?
Will probably be the only time in fpl history I’m 3 million places above you. Lol I just wana stay top million. If I can stick with the pack the next 2/3 weeks the rank drops will be less severe for a bad week
Think with Salah up against Wolves and much of the rest of your team as it is (plus the question marks on Raya) holding off a week is definitely worth it in your situation.
Agreed we all want to do well some of us well me for sure have been watching for 3 years and just like certain content creators so we will always be back as you know your stuff it’s just a bad year/luck onwards n upwards egg man 👍
I’ll be honest. I think a lot of us come here not to see what your picks are. We come to hear why you picked them. Sometimes I hear about a player off my radar and why you like them. I don’t alway agree but it’s about the discussion not the pick. Keep it up man. Just do what you do.
I have come up with a term for fpl I have seen a lot I call it "The differentiation trap" it is when players are doing badly in fpl and in an attempt to make their rank better they go against the highest EO (best) decision to try to be different but this actually makes it worse because the different option is the suboptimal decision that is why it is differential.
I agree if I was going different for the sake of it. But I only go different if it's a relatively close 50/50 decision, why not back the slightly more differential option?
With regards to confidence in decision-making, I've been doing FPL for 19 seasons. I do make early transfers sometimes because I gain enjoyment from knowing what I've done for the rest of the week and can look forward to my new player. It also adds to going with your gut instinct. Why not try early transfers (if no midweek fixtures) and see if your enjoyment catapults even more.
Great honest vid Raptor👌🏼 This season hasn’t been easy at all, so difficult to call. Personally, started well so seeing how long I can keep hold of the WC
Legend mate, completely agree with that first section. Be yourself bro, f what anyone says, do you and whatever you want do it without second guessing yourself
Im on 263k OR without Haaland. The 2 last games when Salah (C) only got 1 assist and Haaland got 3 goals and bonus my OR droped from 150k to only 263k. So you can do well without Haaland but need the other players to deliver.
Gabriel did underachieve his XG last season and the season becore and it's usually ~5 Goals per season. xG of 1 after 5 games so looking at 7.6 goals this season. Could even end up higher with easier opposition... but I reckon it'll be ~6.
Played my wildcard in GW5, 2 free transfers available for GW6. Do I bring in Diaz for Salah and Raya for Sels, who I probably should have brought in last week? Perhaps a waste of transfers. Thoughts...
I WC early this week and saved/made 0.6 in value which at this stage is hugely useful with a bunch of cheap, underperforming defenders so far this season.
What do they say about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results Ross? 😅 bit of sunk cost fallacy at play methinks. Bite the bullet and get Haland in mate. Thanks for the great, consistent content!
Hi Ross, I’m on a WC6 and I’ve been tinkering with my squad and I’ve made a team that has a midfield of Salah, Saka, Diaz, Mbeumo, Rogers, while still having the likes of Haaland and Gabriel, but has a 4.5m forward. It got me thinking how important would you say having an 8th attacker is on a WC? Would it be best to drop Diaz down to a Semenyo, for example, and upgrade the 4.5m forward (and possibly upgrading Flekken to Raya if he’s available) or do you think stacking the midfield more works? Full team would be something like Flekken, Slicker, Gabriel, Aina, Konsa, Davis, Van Den Berg, Salah, Saka, Diaz, Mbeumo, Rogers, Haaland, Wood, Stewart
I like the fact that you're getting back to what makes you authentic and a special content creator as well ..If I'm gonna give you my opinion on what to do with your team I'm actually thinking a bit crazy but you might want to consider it ..I suggest you sell Saka and Watkins and get Haland and Semenyo for a 4 pts hit .. It's risky but it will save you from this nagging pressure of not owning Haland ,specially that if he actually scored two goal or more and Salah didn't match him.. that's much more painful than doing these transfers which I find decent.Semenyo has got a great fixture and you can bring Saka back in at a wildcard rather than Haland .
Hi Mr.Raptor, You’re the content creator. Everyone was and is listening to your advice because u make the right decisions. Don’t let anyone’s comment get to you. It’s your channel, it’s your great ideas and it’s your opinion. TBH, without your help I would be playing Monopoly Go. Keep up the amazing work👍
@@seefoghall when I say turn I mean he can go like back to defender them roll them through power, if you were to contest in a header of course darwin is better
Just get haaland bruv.. I only pressed wildcard last night, regret it a little.. shoudve held for another week with Raya concerns and Dias / Gakpo such tight competition
Agreed mate, you have become more indecisive this season.. I watch and follow you for your confidence and you seem to have lost that.. Be yourself and do you.
Ross I give up I was a Non-Haaland owner for 5 weeks I can’t take it any longer Haaland is coming back into my team this Gameweek. Try to do the same . Lovely content as always.
You are rolling the transfer. On a positive note you are 34 points behind me and I am 900k.I have wildcarded and got rid of Salah and Watkins.7 Penalty takers and Rogers.Haaland Woods DCL Paquetta Mbeumo Saka and Palmer.
ROLL and WC7, in my mind it's easily the best option in *your* situation. the team you have right now is really solid for this weekend. plus you get an extra GW worth of information (regarding the players' form and injuries etc.)
Ross, don't try to be so defensive about the decisions you make and do not mind the negative feedback you get for those decisions! Finally it's your team and those are your decisions! We watch you to get some insights but we make our own decisions as the team we have. By the way I have this WC team including Haaland and Salah but no Saka! Raya, Fabianski Romero, Konate, Lewis, Gabriel, Greaves Salah, Mbeumo, Rogers, Smith Rowe, Semenyo Haaland, Jackson, Wood.
Based on your team I would delay the WC. I really like your team for this week sans Haaland. If you WC you are most definitely replacing Watkins with Haaland and probably getting rid of Henderson and Salah who both have great fixtures this week as well. I would probably roll actually
Hi @fplraptor I don't know your name but I want you to know that you are in a very small minority of fpl content creators who appear to be original and authentic people. Your fpl record speaks for itself you don't have to change anything. Continue to own your decisions, you won't please everyone but there are a lot if people out there who love seeing fpl content creators have a bad week. Forget them and stream as if noone is watching.
You chose to ignore Haaland which was your personal choice. However not having him means that you should have strength elsewhere that Haaland people probably don't. It is not all about one player. However keeping 3m plus in the bank for so long is bizzare.
I had Luis Diaz at the start of the season before the game started. Eventually I replaced with Jota getting through everyone’s suggestions and now I am repenting that decision 😅 Could have been in top 50k by now!
Hey Ross, love the content as always, On wildcard this week. Was wondering what you think about Diaz + Solanke vs Watkins + Semenyo? Both seem good options, but would love your thoughts?
I think it is worth waiting another week. There haven't been a huge amount of price increases and the team looks very decent. Obv there is no Semenyo or Mbeumo but maybe this is the week when those players have a quiet one and the likes of Eze, Jota and Eze actually deliver. My gw5 WC had Halaand, Salah AND Saka and I am captaining Salah. I took out Palmer, Munoz and ESR when I played it, which highlights the perils of taking out good players just to wildcard.
Think WC 6/7 should be for managers with big issues in their team to sort out. First wildcard can often be a huge weapon later as the odd cancelled fixture or DGW as league cup enters latter stages. Also as European football starts KO and FA cup starts you can kinda look ahead to big DGW potential from certain teams. I’m hoping a lot of managers are jumping the gun a bit. I’m gonna wait
I enjoy climbing ranks much more than praying for no red arrows to stay inside top 10K! For some people maybe the enjoyment of achieving top 10K is enough, but for me the week to week rank gain (no matter what rank I am) is more enjoyable.
Hi Ross, in a relatively similar position to you as I have Salah but I also have 3 fts and I’m not planning to wildcard in the coming weeks. Have a decision whether to transfer Salah and isak to semenyo and Haaland but I think Salah will be very good against that wolves defence this week. Glad to see your taking your own approach to fpl and looking forward to gw6. Thanks for the video 👍
