Yes, I think after a while, you learn to trust your own views and just go with it. If you like something, you like something. It doesn't matter what others think about it as they aren't wearing it 😊
Hiya once again! 😊 Boss: Dior Addict or Chanel N°5 Parfum. I don’t need to explain these 😅 Bedtime: Chanel Jersey - vanilla sugared limes and musky lavender. Super comforting, but also super expensive 😂😂 Comfort: Dior Pure Poison - an effervescent ‘bubble’ of white florals and amber tinged woods Mass Seduction: I would also say BO (as we are both BO obsessed! 😂), but a second option would be Versace Blonde - blonde bombshell-esque scent, ‘turns heads’ Idling in my collection: Joop Nightflight (vintage). It was a gift from my late Nanny who gifted me it while she was in hospital. She died a few months after, I’ve only sprayed it once since her death as I lost the cap and wanted to see if it was still intact 😢 Unique for beginners: My Way Parfum - likeable DNA but deep and powdery, almost leathery overall Love, but a hate to others: New, but it’s Black Datura by Miller Harris. My loved ones absolutely hate it 😂😂 I like the resinous, evergreen rubber vibe I get from it Overhyped: Not sure. I’ve sold everything that I don’t wear. Declutter: PR Ultrared Man - I wear it but it’s a bit too synthetic for me. Blood orange, some sort of chocolatey, praline aroma and a musky ambery aromachemical Last purchase: Is a secret! but it’s very exciting. I’ll (hopefully - I procrastinate too much 😂) post about it next month on my Instagram Next purchase: Anything from my wishlist that is at a good price. I have been thinking about Sì Fiori on and off for over a year after testing it so clearly I need it Perfume for life: Any variant of Angel, particularly the OG or Violette Again… loved this video 😊 My fragrance personality is all over the place!!! I could have included so many others but tried to limit myself to just the one
Gosh yes! I could have chosen a few Chanels for boss. They definitely have a put together formality and not trying vibe. Haha Jersey would make bedtime very pricey, but yes a lovely one. I love lavender for bedtime. Black orchid is a show stopper. It will always provoke a reaction. Wow that Joop nightflight is worth a lot of money now, it goes for quite a bit. It's lovely that you have it to think of her. I wish I'd got more to remind me of my grandparents. I miss them. Interesting that you say that about Black datura, I'm reviewing it next week. And exactly the same with over-hyped. If I don't love it and it's pricey, it goes. I will look out for your post for your new one. And wow, good luck with the bank loan for Sì Fiori 🤣 I would love to try the Violette version but my hands have been hovering over Angel EDP all week, I'm waiting for it to be cold enough 😊 thanks for watching as always ❤️ have a fab weekend 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume I have a (used) sample of the Violette flanker somewhere in my tub - after Gabi let me have her bottle I’m not sure where in the tub it could be 😂😂 but when I find it I’ll let you know so I can hand it over (if you want it, of course) 😁
Here are my answers to most questions (some weren't applicable to me) Boss: Coromandel by Chanel Bedtime: Satine by Lalique Hug: From the Heart by Alghabra/This is Her by Zadig & Voltaire Mass Seduction: Tabac Blonde by Caron (vintage)/Shalimar (vintage) by Guerlain Newbie: Check out the sampler sets from department stores like Macy 's or from Sephora or other perfume outlets Last purchase: 3 travel sprays by Masque Milan: White Whale, Madeleine & Lost Alice Wish List: Corpus Equus by Naomi Goodsir/1969 by Histoires de Parfum
Yes! I totally agree! Sample sets are the way forward for newbies, but I also think that that takes a bit of time for people to get their head around doing. People tend to get excited over cheapies and easy ones to begin with and then they begin to sample when they realise it's not interesting after a while and there's more out there ☺️ I knew there'd be some vintage Guerlain here 👍 I almost chose this is her as my hug fragrance too! And thanks for reminding me that I need to try more masque Milano/ Milano fragranze! ❤️
Nice parfume collections,. Thanks for sharing Full watching here, Have a great day, 🤗 sending my full support for you 🔔🔔🔔 , stay connected ☕., let's keep it up 👍,. new friend is here.
I like your personal reflections on some of these scents. Once in a while I get a whiff of some unidentifiable scent out in public and it takes me right back to kindergarten or something. So interesting and personal :)
It's instant isn't it?! Something just triggers a memory that maybe you didn't even realise that you had! Please do the tag if you feel like it 😊 I'd love to see your answers! 🥰
Hi Claire, as soon as you said Chloe Nomad, I said Yes! out loud. I’m retired, so don’t have to worry about office friendly, but if I need a confidence boost, that’s the one I choose. Blanche Bete is the warm huggy one for me. Lots of people on RU-vid describe it as a summer fragrance, but it’s a cool weather one for me. By the Fireplace also for really cold weather. My latest purchase is Matiere Premiere Vanilla Powder which will arrive in a couple of days. Got a little spray on my wrist in store and it lasted for ages. 😃🇦🇺
Haha 😂 glad you approve! Gosh! I need to try Blanche Bête! I am so intrigued. I've seen everyone but two people absolutely love it. I think if it's lactonic, it would be something I'd use in autumn winter too actually. And yes by the fireplace is a comforting kind of scent profile. Being by a fire when it's cold out is very much fitting with that vibe. I've only tried one matière première fragrance, which is Encens Suave, I did really enjoy it. I would like to try more. I hope you enjoy Vanilla Powder. Thanks for watching as always ❤️
I miss the pre-IFRA Black Orchid and Alien. I also love Orchid Soleil. I’m not sure what’s been happening to Tom Ford fragrances but he used to release some fascinating perfumes, whereas now it seems like everything is Bitter Peach and lots of cherry ones. With the exception for maybe Ebène Fume or Soleil Brûlant, so many things are now very gourmand.
Aah I think it was Estée Lauder getting the licence and then purchasing the fragrance brand maybe? I know the purchase was announced November last year. Tom Ford used to be really different, exciting and out there, but they are a bit more mainstream now, although not always... The early ones are definitely the gems for me. I absolutely love orchid soleil and my original black orchid. 💜
Thank you! Yes it is! I just ended up making a snap decision and not thinking too much because if I agonise, I will never decide. 🤣 thanks for watching 🥰
I used to love Jungle Elephant but i quickly grew tired of it. Just too heavy and cloying. Gifted it to my sister in law. Thanks Claire ☘️ this was fun!
Hi Claire. Nice to see you, always. Last one I purchased was Ginger Biscuit. It's smooth, yummy and softly spicy For life... I can't choose. That's too hard. 🙏 ✨💙
@@dr.claire.perfume yes, I was afraid even to buy a travel size to try, because everyone says it can be a challenging scent, but I fell in love and it was my birthday gift. I smell dry apricots ❤️
Amouage are just enchanting, some of them manage to just get you, it's an individual effect, I think they are fragrances you simply need to try 😊 it sounds lovely.
This was a fantastic tag! What truly inspired questions and what great answers you provided. I concur with you on many of these, especially Nomade. Can't believe I really like that one, what a surprise that was! Lovely everyday, all year round fragrance. I will now read through your viewers answers to these questions. My list would be long winded and full of indulgent tangential streams so I'll cork it for now. 😆
Haha 😂 yes Nomade was a surprise! I finished the bottle a few weeks ago and I am wondering whether to get a flanker. I tried Nuit D'egypte and it was a bit of a disappointment for me, but maybe I'll get one of the others 🤔 thanks for watching 🥰
Loved hearing your choices Claire! I love these questions and I've tagged myself and am filming mine today! 😁 You're soon going to need a new bottle of your Bottega it's getting low! 😅
Oh yes, go for it! I often tag myself 😂 I actually bought two partial bottles of Bottega Veneta as it was about 1/3 of the price to do that than to buy a brand new 30 ml and I got more of the fragrance, so I do have another partial bottle, but yes I've been using this one quite a bit since I got it. I really love the suede 👌
Love L'Interdit Rouge! ❤ However, I can't imagine having one fragrance for life - my preferences have changed over time, and will surely change more than once. Also, I wear different fragrances in different seasons and types of weather, so one will not suffice. 😅
💯 agree that the fragrances from 80s and 90s were way more interesting and I find myself wanting that feeling of those fragrances more and more A signature scent is a hard choice 🤔I have 5 LOL Loved this so much Have a wonderful weekend ❤
I think those videos where I test brand new designer releases have shown me how disappointing so many of them are to me. I find myself looking into loved discontinued ones and trying to seek them out secondhand, fragrance just seemed a bit more inventive and quirky 20 years ago and not simply gourmands... Have a fab weekend Frances
Good afternoon Claire :) Some amazingly great choices and really good smelling fragrances. Love love love Alien, Black Orchid, Chloe Nomade, Narciso Poudre 🥰🥰🥰🥰 And L'interdit Rouge again is a show stopper
Thank you! Yes I've since bought l'interdit Rouge 🤣 I needed to stop me heading straight to the bottle in store to spray it every time 😂 please do the tag if you want to 😊
Hi, Claire! I’m not certain which video, because I discovered Chris fairly recently and have been “catching up” on some of her past videos. It’s my 2nd day of Coffee Addict, and I’m getting addicted to it!! I am almost finished with my second bottle, but I have gotten interested in exploring some new ones and don’t want to over buy by restocking it yet. I ordered some samples… I see that it can be very tempting to blind buy. Glad I discovered you! If I find out which video, I’ll let you know. Take care!
Aah it was probably one from a long time ago, I think there was one in August 2022 😊 My advice with fragrance would be to take your time sampling and deciding what to purchase, cos decluttering is a headache. Happy that you are enjoying Coffee Addict. 🥰
Hi, I just learned about your channel from Chris of Perfume Nest and am enjoying your videos. The last perfume I bought is Coffee Addict, a blind buy, which I’m not sure about yet, although I love drinking coffee, hence the blind buy…we shall see. Some favorites are Black Orchid (I only wear it at home with my spouse because it feels very sensual to me), Libre Le Parfum (same with this one), and Burberry Brit Sheer, an early blind buy, which to me is very light and pleasant. I also have enjoyed Flower Bomb ( I can wear that one in public!) which is almost finished, but I have a sample on the way (getting smarter) of Flower Bomb Dew and some others. I tend to wear my fragrances according to my mood. Thank you for your video!
Oh welcome! Did you find me from a recent video of Chris's or an older one? Oh I'm jealous, I have a sample of coffee addict and I really like it. ☺️ Black orchid is a wow one and yes sensuous if you are light on the trigger. I've finished a few minis of flowerbomb! I thought I didn't like it but by the end of the second one I was feeling hooked 🤣 thanks for watching 🥰
I went to try that because of you!!! I want to try it again as I'd tried about 25 that day as I was in, probably the largest perfume shop I've ever had the pleasure to visit! It was hard to pick one, I tried not to think too much and just went with my gut because if I thought about it, I'd be er choose! 🤣
Hi ! I really like the whole perfume- personality- collection idea 😍 My last purchase was Rosa Arabia Almond from Widian and my " one-for- life " perfume will be Songes ( Dreams in French) from Annick Goutal ( I have an older version of this one that is getting richer and deeper ). Greetings from Paris
Ooh I've never tried anything from either of those brands, I've been so intrigued by Widian though. Rosa Arabian Almond sounds like it would be something I'd enjoy. Greetings back from the UK! 🥰
Hi Claire 🤗 Rouge is also on my list! ( I love seeing the dents in your bottles I’m so weird lol ) I love your choices! It’s so hard to pick one for life lol although my heart knows the right one!
As I move along on this fragrance journey, I find my "tastes" have changed. When I was younger, Samsara by Guerlain was my signature scent. Thirty years later, it's like I'm starting all over again. One of my most recent favorites is Empire des Indies, it's warm and spicy and has a wonderful dry down. I also prefer powdery scents with iris notes. Narciso Poudre is nice and I have that as well. My last purchase is two; one is 1889 Moulin Rouge by Histoire de Parfums, and the other is Iris de Syracuse by Boucheron. These are slightly reminiscent of Samsara yet very different in a lovely way and more suited to me now. To be upfront, except for Samsara, all the scents I've mentioned are 2 - 5 ml sizes. Until I'm sure, I'm not going to spend lots of money on 50 or 100 ml of a fragrance.
That's very wise! I ended up regretting some of my early 100ml purchases, but weirdly they were sometimes cheaper than 50ml 🤷♀️ I always try to buy secondhand or the smaller sizes now. I am happy with smaller amounts in general. I really love powdery and spicy too now. I would love to try 1889 Moulin Rouge! I think when I was younger, my taste was more towards something fresher, but I grew up in the 90s so the trend then probably did have an impact! Thanks for watching 🥰
My most recent fragrance purchase was a group from an estate sale: Guerlain Samsara EDP Guerlain Champs Elysees EDT Lancôme Tresor EDP St. Johns Jouvera Virgin Islands EDT Liz Claiborne Spark Seduction EDP Fendi Theorema Esprit D’Ete Julio Iglesias Only EDT Baby Phat Golden Goddess EDP Hilary Duff With Love EDP Chopard Casmir EDP Lagerfeld Sun Moon Stars EDT
Gosh, you got some gems there! A lot of those are extremely rare now! I've always wanted to smell Sun Moon and Stars and I'd forgotten about Baby Phat fragrances! Did you get a great deal? 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume They were selling them so cheaply because they they wanted to empty the house as soon as possible and they couldn’t guarantee if they were still “fresh enough”. It was a gamble on my end, but it’s worth so far. The Perfume Guy did something similar. He bought fragrance from a storage locker. Great to watch.
LOL same for me as girl math of late, that term drives me nuts... Yet Sephora and other companies constantly use it in their advertising like it's not insulting 🤷♀️
1:59 if you like the ADP, get down to your local Aldi and pick up a bottle of their Lacura Essence of Italy Giallo - it’s a very good dupe of Colonia and probably lasts longer! It’s limited edition but still some lingering around at £4.99! X
@@dr.claire.perfume they did 3 ADP dupes recently. The Colonia one is in a yellow bottle but there is also a black bottle which dupes ADP Signature Oud which is nice x
Hi Mel, I can send you some of lemon dulci if you are interested? 😊 I am still assessing my feelings towards it 😂 I will feature one of your samples next week so you are tagged 🙂
Must admit I've not smelt most fragrances on this list, but hearing how their paired with each question gives an idea how how they feel. Black Orchid was a little too much for me, but i would agree it's that kind of dark seductive style. 👌 Suggestion a fragrance to a beginner who wants to smell niche was definitely a hard one but kinda interesting too. I really enjoyed doing this video. Thanks for the tag
I think black orchid is one to get noticed from afar or outside 🤣 perhaps not seductive close up, although the far drydown maybe? Really loved your version of this 👌
Im a newbie here, just recently started to learn about perfumes. What i've found about tobacco vanille by tom ford is quite masculine and attracting people especially females to come close to you. I didnt buy black orchid yet although it is smells sexy but if you live in a hot and humid country it will make you skin feels sticky and your sense of smell overwhelmed by the creaminess of the smell. Black orchid is perfect to wear if you live in a temperate climate. Have you tried Petite Cherie by Annick Goutal? The smell is so innocent and child-like just like the character Amelie de Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain film played by Amelie Tautou. My next wishlist for perfumes are A Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle and Hibiscus Mahajad by Maison Crivelli.
I don't think I'd wear black orchid in warm weather at all, it has to be cooler for sure, I agree. I've not tried any Annicke Goutal. I really love Amélie though, such a lovely film. I've seen the musical too... Portrait of a Lady is beautiful 😍 I've not tried the Maison Crivelli fragrance, but it gets a lot of love. ☺️
Love to see Acqua di Parma Colonia here, one I appreciate as well. You definitely pay the fresh tax in terms of longevity, but damn do I enjoy that bright lemon blast. It just smells very, like, Italian. Perfect for bed honestly. (currently Versace The Dreamer is my sleepytime spray)
Yes! The citrus but at the beginning is my absolute favourite bit. I crave that! It's just so good! I remember when I made my bedtime fragrances video, so many people suggested the Dreamer, that one is loved. 😊
Tag videos are always fun. 🙂 I too, enjoy Black Opium. Last winter, it was an easy reach one and I wore it while teleworking and loved smelling it on myself. I have the intense version, Nuit Blanche and bought the Le Parfum a few months ago. I need to test the Narcisso cubes...(I love musk.) Kenzo Jungle sounds good (didn't like World when sampling). Spicy doesn't seem to be very spicy on me. Ppl were saying Bouquet Ideale is very spicy and it doesn't do that on me (and I get a peachy feel).
Black opium is really enveloping! It gives a nice scent bubble and it smells great on clothes the next day too. I'm not surprised you don't love Kenzo World, that seems to be the consensus view... It's just me and Paola Bianka that love it 🤣 jungle is worth sniffing! Really different and yes, with subsequent wears, it seems less spicy and you smell more of the vanilla. 😊 If you can find Narciso Rouge or Poudrée, they are great if you like makeuppy powdery fragrances.
Thank you ❤️ I have a tag video playlist if you want to watch more Q and A videos, there are a few tags like this there ru-vid.com/group/PLL3IDxGRYA0sxiIkpHzbLKseEOdFE72I7&si=qojbYsbLZobQsjIJ Big hugs back from the UK 🥰
Loved your video, as always, Claire! 😍My last purchase was Celeste by Giardini Di Toscana. I haven’t received it yet, and it was a blind buy, so I’m very excited to try it. A fragrance for life would have to be either Miracle by Lancôme, Laila by Geir Ness or Coco Mademoiselle.
Thank you ❤️ ooh! Please let me know what you think of it when you get it 😊 I hope it's a success! Miracle is a great choice, distinctive but very wearable. Coco mademoiselle is a lovely one too, and I've not tried or even heard of Laila, what's it like? 🥰
Hi Claire - ok yes, I am kind of surprised you love and own Jungle L’Elephant! It’s in my all-time top 5; I love it so much and can’t wait to wear it in cooler weather. It’s super-fun how our noses and tastes change, isn’t it? I don’t think I can pick one fragrance for life tho 🤯. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend 🍁🤎
Hi Jill! I wish I'd have tried Jungle 3 years ago, I'd love to know what I'd have thought of it 🤣 I bet it would have been a struggle, I wouldn't have got past the cumin. But I'm addicted... That sample... I just couldn't stop spraying it! It's gorgeous 😍 I picked and just didn't think too long about it. If I thought about one for life for any time I'd never choose one. I went with my gut! 😂
Yes, my perfume tag will be next week godswilling! I definitely love these questions so I figured I’d drop my answers to this one. I haven’t done a perfume tag video in a minute.
No, sadly not joking, literally fell in as I was washing up 😭 no one under it and cleared it up in an hour mostly though so just something to fix, but I live in an old house with nice coving so I'm not sure what will happen to that now. 🤦♀️
@@dr.claire.perfume Oh I literally woke up with my mind on you and as soon I picked up my phone I saw your message. I’m sorry to hear. I know it must be a nightmare. One of the house I lived in had roofing issues and the issue alone is annoying let alone it collapsing. Then to fix these things takes time.I pray and hope you get it sorted soon.🙏🏾
Hi Claire! I’m really enjoying this tag! I remember trying the Kenzo a very long time ago, interesting is the word I would use 😅 I liked it but it seemed to be an occasional fragrance. I really like Lemon Dulci, I enjoy the minty mess against the lemon and woods 😊. Maybe you’ll grow to like it…oh well, if not. 🤷🏽♀️ That’s part of the fun of it 😊 I enjoyed this video, Claire. Thank you 👍🏾
Haha yes! Kenzo World is an oddball. Lemon Dulci I will keep trying! I did like it when I first got it. Maybe it's a temperature thing? I will try it in the cooler weather 👍 Thanks for watching, please do the tag if you feel like it 😊
Lovely fun video. Pear Inc by JHAG and Black Opium are on the chopping block for me. On payday i bought 3 - Coco, A Scent by Issey Miyake and L'Eau D'Ambre Extreme by L'Artisan Parfumeur. L'Elephant really comes into it's own this time of the year🍂. Another vintage on my wishlist is Safari by Ralph Lauren and according to Frangetica Dominic Ropion's the nose behind L'Elephant, Safari, Dune, Pure Poison, L'Interdit, Alien, Ysatis, Flowerbomb and many many more. His body of work's amazing. I wonder who doesn't have one if his creations in their collection?
I bought Coco recently too! I'm on a spice kick 😂 I always wanted to try a scent by issey Miyake, what's it like? Jungle l'elephant is gorgeous 🤩 I don't think I've tried Safari, but I know it's well regarded. Maybe I should make a video on Dominic Ropion? He liked one of my posts on Instagram once and I was so so shocked 🤣
@dr.claire.perfume Great idea to have a Dominic Ropion video. A Scent's very fresh citrus, clean, transparent with a hint of hyacinth; not much projection but lasts a long time on my clothes. 💚💚
Hi Claire! Fragrances are definitely overhyped all the time! I have learned to be more careful! 😉 If I had to pick one perfume for life, Gris Dior would be it… for now! 😅
Great choice Julie 👌 In many ways I can see why Bottega Veneta is compared with Gris Dior, they certainly aren't the same, but they are along the same lines.

Ooh interesting answers! I also love Black opium and Chanel no 5 and I see absolutely nothing to hate with LVEB either. It's always the popular ones that get the hate isn't it? I really like Ange ou demon. I have a little decant of the original formulation. I need to try the modern version again. I want a bottle but I'm not sure which to buy. I'd buy a sample of Empress if you want to try it. You are supposed to get a voucher against a future purchase (I didn't when I bought a sample of Aphrodite but Im sure it would have been sorted out had I wanted a bottle) so all you lose is the postage if you then buy a bottle after sampling, but sampling is wise in case you end up hating it. It seems polarising. Good luck! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume They really do get so much hate! As far as Ange Ou Demon is concerned, I haven't tried the most recent formulation either, but I've heard that it's not as good as the original. (Go figure). I'll definitely be sure to try a sample of Empress first! That's a great point. I'm in the U.S. so between the cost of a F.B. and the shipping, it would be so dissapointing if I didn't like it. Much love!
Ooh, ok, that's heartening! I need to find a bottle in a department store 😊 I don't know if the shipping is extortionate on samples actually. I hope not. It's a real problem with fragrances coming from different countries. Also the UK has insane restrictions on shipping fragrance, you need a special licence to do it. 🤦♀️ Thanks, you too! 🥰
Well I skipped the babe too, seems too related to that new weird fake "maths" 😂, renamed a question and added one. Nomad is a good choice there for work. Hug in a bottle, that Poudre is so very u. Black orchid and Alien do smell very good on you as a neutral. I think Alien is damn mmm and addictive. That's special to have one from your grandma. And u did well not to drink it 😉. Yes that orchid solei is definitely an interesting one The Katy Perry is a good idea and yes you do love your Reminiscense one. They aren't bad are they. The TK ones are quite awesome too. I don't think I loved the kenzo 🤣. Black Opium... I think everyone loves it really I cheated slightly with the hype one. That Chopard is new 😜 I didn't know you got thst one. Shiso I've not heard of that. I'm sure many an influencer smells it tho 😉 Kenzo jungle I know u wanted that one. It does sound like I'd like it. Come on Claire 😜 yes you've wanted the L'indredit Rouge forever. I bet you've sprayed an entire bottle 😉 The BV does sound good. Yes you're a leather suede lover for sure. You did make it interesting. I accidentally bought two recently. I think we need a new video of ur recent buys 😉
Yeah the girl math thing of late is also getting to me 🤦♀️ Yes Alien is wow 💜 I'd love to smell the original on someone else! Haha, I only drank fragrance once, it's not a habit 🤣 I don't think many people love the Kenzo 😂 I imagine you cheated with a lot of these! You're a rebel! The Chopard is not new 😱 you need to pay attention! 😂 Yeah I think jungle is right up your street, I'm amazed Chantel didn't send you some? And yes, I've since caved on l'interdit rouge, it was obsession. I will definitely do an update on my new purchases in a few months. 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume I can't remember everything. Yes I think you'd be chasing someone in Alien down the street 😉 I don't remember Chantel sending it but this is me Claire 🤣 who knows
Thank you for voicing that women should not be called babes. It grates on me when I hear anyone, but especially women, call women "females". I always want to say, female what? What species are you talking about? It's even worse than "girls" who are women after age 18 in the US. That one is a clear insult to the abilities of women. As if we are always little children and should be treated that way. Rant over. I love the smell of Black Orchid, but I do feel I can wear it in public. My beauty days are well over. LOL L'interdit Rouge is one of my favorites. It is spicy and warm making it a winter fragrance for me. What I really love is the way the spices and tuberose play together. Fantastic.
I feel like there is a lot of troubling terminology at the moment. E.g. I keep seeing advertising with "girl math" being used, as a woman who is a scientist, I find that incredibly insulting (thanks Sephora and Perfume direct)... Black orchid is a wow and yes, you need a lot of confidence and almost a desire to be, or a lack of care of, being noticed. I bought l'interdit rouge straight after this video, it was ridiculous 🤣 I was spraying it every time I saw it 🤣
Hello! I've only tried the old formulation of Ange ou démon, but to me that one is like root beer in the drydown, really lovely 😊 poudrée is lighter, more huggy, friendly rather than sexy, it's pink smelling, light airy rose, sweet airy powdery and makeuppy with background gentle white florals. They are both lovely but quite different 😊
I blind bought Juicy Couture's Majestic Woods as my most recent fragrance purchase. I have been wearing it layered with Lalique Amethyst Eclat, as I found MW opened with a sort of plasticky smell. (Is that ambroxan?) Anyway, the combination is getting me compliments. On my wish list is a good amber scent. I haven't figured out which one yet but I keep searching and sampling.
Ooh I'd say my autumn fragrance video last year was mainly ambers. What do you like? Cool spicy? Warm? Powdery? Err plastic can be saffron, is that in that? Cheap saffron can smell very plasticky. Ambroxan smells like it's going to melt your brain, a good example is the Favourite by Penhaligons if you've smelt that? A more palatable example of ambroxan is BR540. It's like a cloud, so yes, something like Cloud would also be an example. 🙂
Figuring that out will help massively in choosing one 😊 I thought I hated amber, until I realise that I only dislike powdery vanilla patchouli ambers, any other type and it's a deep love 😊
For me, it's easier figuring out what I don't love than what I love. I dislike suffocating vanilla and heavy patchouli. One amber scent I tried recently that I really like is by Perfume Mine Lab: Narghile. It's a slightly fruity and spicy amber that's supposed to smell like a hookah. @@dr.claire.perfume
There are around 1220 sprays if you base it on the video that beauty news did where they sprayed a 30ml perfume from beginning to end (610 sprays) but atomisers will differ and with the small volumes that they distribute, a slightly different dispenser rate is going to make a huge difference to the number of sprays you will get. 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Wow, thank you very much for your detailed answer. I didnt know that s/o actually sprayed 30 ml ☺️ I love your math. It was in a different video, where you said 60ml will last you 4 months or so by 5 sprays a day. I tried to remember a summer when I used two perfumes for months.... long story short, I think you are correct. Bravo! 🧡
Yes it takes a long time if the fragrances last all day and you don't respray. A long lasting strong fragrance is really excellent value for money when you look at it on a per wear basis!
I love Dior Jasmine sadly it didn’t least more than 4 hours😢 even Jo Malone EDT can easily least 8 hours😢😢😢. I have to decan to a perfume travel spray. 😢 I wonder if anyone have the same issue as me?
@@dr.claire.perfume Glad to hear that and glad I got the 150ml size. It’s a decent perfume but does it worth the price tag? Definitely not worth it. In Hong Kong 🇭🇰, it cause over $200 pounds ( around 250 pounds)
