I have few friends who are addicted to gambling , and I have seen how they got addicted over time. Its really scary because sometimes you dont realize the addiction , because you end up covering your loss by borrowing from friends . My best friend is addicted , and thankfully I was able to help him out from addiction, by helping him financially. Thank you for the video, our community needs to see this.
Most people with any form of addiction have an inner wounded child. That pain or void is soothed by engaging in gambling, drinking, shopping, over working, eating etc. In time, it becomes an addiction and one seeks more and more high by engaging more and more into these acts of addictive behaviour. One has to heal the inner child or another way is to strictly follow a routine of activities of work, exercise and volunteering. A person with an addiction has to always be mindful because even after years of not engaging in the activity or being sober, you could fall right back into it in a moment of lapse/ weakness or un mindfulness. The body has memory and the urge can come as strong even after several years. So, always keep it in check. There are many who recover fully and lead good lives because they found purpose in life and most importantly spirituality. I don't mean just reciting some prayers and going to monasteries but a deep awakening within which can truly transform the way you see life and everything around. May you know that.

So sad, Sonam Dorjee la is good person and smart but obstacles happen to our life. He work so hard for Tibetan community and Tibet cause. We pray he will back to normal with his wife and kid. I believe his wife is supporting him if not please support him 🙏
