I don’t even know what to say. Miranda is the best, this trip was the best (even with the raccoon and the rain!), and reliving it through this video is so special. I had the absolute best time, and I’m so honored and grateful for this experience!
HI PAM! I love watching you love backpacking; I'm shaped like you are and you've shown me that *I **_can_** do it too* and that wanting to do it is enough to be allowed to try it ❤️
You guys rock! I'm starting to plan my first backpacking trip this summer and getting all the gear together too. You & Miranda make it look so fun; I really wanna get out there ASAP!
As a plus size lady looking to get started in backpacking - I LOVE that you have created these videos and shared them! There is hardly ANY plus size backpacker influencers, and that sure does make it intimidating to get started.. Thanks Pam & Miranda for the encouragement! ☺️ I cannot WAIT to plan a trip and hit the trail this summer!
Also, the clothes that you typically see backpackers wear, like a Puffy Coat or Rain Coat are NOT PLUS-SIZE (XL is not plus-size manufacturers!). A plus-size sleeping bag, good to know.
@@desiregonzales6246 I believe that the REI down puffer jacket comes in up to a 3XL, and as a big guy, I find it very comfortable, compared to the other brands, which won’t even zip.
Yay Pam!!! I was beaming this whole video, what a wholesome friendship. Also when Miranda showed Pam she could adjust the hood on her rain jacket I yelled “WAIT…” and ran over to my Marmot rain jacket I’ve had for eight freaking years to confirm that, YUP! It has the same velcro tab on the back and I’ve been blinding myself unnecessarily in the rain for almost a decade. Thanks Miranda! You help in ways big and small.
Same! I watched the video and read this comment and I was like “mine definitely doesn’t have that but I’ll check anyways” and sure enough, it does! Although mine uses cords that you pull on to tighten it, rather than velcro.
This was awesome. Everything from the security guard, to the mini comments about Miranda plotting a secret Surprise for Pam, to the tears at the end. I think you should bring more Pam into the shows gosh darn
I love everything about these videos with Pam. The friendship, the encouragement for folks of all sizes and experience levels to get outside, and the fun of things not going entirely to plan. Good job to all involved, these videos offer more than you might realize to us viewers. ❤️
First, let me say that my wife and I have become REI members and we are finally geared up and ready for our own backpacking adventures because of Miranda in the Wild. Next, I loved the 1st video with Pam and I loved this one even more. Keep them coming. Miranda and Pam 2024!
Omg, never stop giving us Pam content! She is so funny and sweet. I especially appreciate her perspective as a newbie and a plus-size person. I wish there was more content from those perspectives to help people like me who are also a newbie plus-size outdoors person.
Wax on...!! Wax off ..!!! Great 😃👍 job on teaching the student!!! So fun to watch how Pam wants to do this. I can totally relate to Pam, but when done right can be the most enjoyable time. Appreciate the video!!!
Having Miranda as the personality for REI YT vids and now her own channel has been quite a joy to watch with my wife. Really, I think it's been much easier to get her to go on more outdoor adventures after sharing Miranda's vids. They've been helping her feel more confident and comfortable outdoors in addition to the laughs. Thank you to the whole production team!
Pam! Pam! Pam! ❤️ Miranda & Pam 4ever. For real though, I'm weepy over here. This was so wholesome. And as a plus-size backpacking wannabe, it's just so good and important to see a variety of bodies on trail. Yaaaaay!
More Pam!!! Thank you for making this video! Backpacking isn’t all about the mileage!!! It’s ok to have a short not strenuous trip!!! Pain doesn’t have to be part of your backpacking experience 😘😘😘 Thank you Pam and Miranda! When I’m feeling I cant do backpacking I come to these videos and gives me that inspiration that i need 🥰
Yesssss exactly! Backpacking does not have to mean 15 miles and 2000ft of elevation gain and being miserable. It doesn’t matter the length of the trip, or how strenuous. Did you hike somewhere with all of your stuff on your back and then camp out overnight? That’s backpacking.
I spend my day hiking in The Sipsey Wilderness (the Pacific-North-West of Alabama) and then came home to a new video from my favorite content creator! Best day I've had all year!
You guys are so cute... I'm SO glad to see that REI is now carrying the plus sized Gregory packs. I bought one directly from Gregory when they first came out, and I Love It. I've also been wanting to hike the Assateague area, so thanks for giving us a peek! Also, YES! More Pam!
I had to pack up in the rain before, and it sucks. What I did is leave the tent shell up and packed everything up under the shell, including the tent. Then just finish with the poles and the shell. Works to keep most of your stuff relatively dry. Setting up in the rain is basically the same, but the other way around. Poles and shell first, then the tent and sleep system.
From a Maryland native, Assateague is fantastic. They also have car camping options for those who want to test out camping. Chincoteague Island in VA has some great hiking and bike rides as well including a bike/hike only accessible piece of beach. So glad you two enjoyed your trip!
What a great Sunday! First, there is settling in to Sunday evening for another installment of Miranda in the Wild, but second, having Pam back for another episode! Simply Fantastic!
I am s glad to see you back! Miranda in the Wild is the reason I love REI! Pam is great!!! So kind of you to bless her with all the wonderful REI Shopping Trip camping items!!! At this moment, I wish I was Pam, weird human thoughts 💭. But I love me some REI shopping. One day some day, I will have a wonderful tent also! Ok down the road ..... LoL Loved the video and Pam. Miranda is the best!
this is soooo!!!! awesome. Thanks for sharing this with us all. Had a great laugh all through this video. Miranda, you are such a great friend. Have her back for some more videos you are great together. Have fun today and enjoy the spring weather.
i dont think a youtube video has ever made me experience so much joy or made me cry. I'll watch the shit out of more Pam & Miranda. y'all are so genuine and fun. If y'all ever end up in Jacksonville, FL PLEASE holla at ya girl.
So happy you brought Pam back ❤. It is motivating to see other women on trail that look like me. Sometimes the looks I get on hikes make me uncomfortable. A group of middle aged men from India likely thought they we being kind when they passed on the way down a huge mountain, but their cheers and congratulations made it obvious they didn't believe I could hack it because I'm not thin or very fast. Despite that, I THRIVE on trail and always accomplish my objectives. So, yeah, thank you Pam and Miranda 😊
That moon shot was beautiful. Also, both of the Pam vids are now things i tell friends to watch if they're apprehensive about what goes into backpacking.
My rose = when you talked about backpacking not always having to be long or arduous climbs or even hikes! ...And of course when you gave Pammie her gear pack!
That's cool man. Backpacking can be so great, but choosing gear and paying for it is definitely a barrier for entry for so many people. Nice you can help your friend get into it more.
That was amazing, brilliant and so inspiring! Walking on the beach can be really though (especially in the rain), but it is so beautiful at the same time. Really really enjoyed watching this video, hope Pam will now enjoy many many adventures in the future! 💚
This is exactly the video that my Monday morning needed! 😁 Seriously, I love the Miranda & Pam videos... not only is it just fun to watch you two go backpacking with your refreshingly genuine personalities, but it gives me so much more confidence in wanting to spend more time backpacking too. As long as it doesn't detract from your experience too much to capture more of your adventures for RU-vid, I selfishly would love it if more of these Pam trips appeared on the Interwebs! (And as others have suggested, a Pam & her husband trip would be great too... neither my wife or I were the camping type in our younger years, so it would be super helpful for us to get inspiration on getting started now!)
This is so great to watch! I live in Richmond and am just getting into hiking/backpacking, and I loved getting to see a trail outside of Shenandoah featured. Giving me ideas!
I loved this video! Also if Pam wants to review some of the gear - especially the plus size gear like jacket and sleeping bag, I would love that video too. I am a plus size woman who got into bike touring, last year and it made me so happy watching this video that i watched it twice.
Aw thanks so much for watching and enjoying!!! I do seriously love this sleeping bag, and the raincoat. I’ve worn it all spring through the rain and it’s fantastic.
Love this video! Even though I’ve backpacked multiple times, I still deal with some imposter syndrome and feeling like I’m not strong enough to be out backpacking. Seeing videos like this where a beginner is trying backpacking makes me feel much more comfortable outdoors
I will watch all the Pam content! We’re a similar level of experience (although I need the bestie gear hookup lol) so it’s really nice to see more of a novice and also just the genuine love for nature!
Lucky Pam won a $2,000+ sweepstakes lol. P.S. Would love to know where/what the red maroon hat with the triangle on it is from!? Like Miranda's style :)
I freaking love you both so much! Pam is such an inspiration! I’m a newly adventurous person and also plus size. It’s the best to see someone like me out there kicking butt and being real!!
