Yo Cliff, this is insane! The flow, the cadence, the peaks and valleys in notation, and he’s spitting bars in real time, literally fractions of a second after the action takes place, and it’s all still coherent! Harry Mack is on the mountain top, all by himself!

Man I saw him in Chicago too, it was wild seeing him act, pantomime, set up crowd participation etc. I’ve never seen anyone own a crowd the way he does in any type of entertainment. I try to relate with the haters though. I can see where some people struggle to connect to him in a sense. Especially live, he clowns a lot and if you think rap has to be in a certain thematic lane he comes off a bit corny and some people just can’t separate the craft from the content like that.

I like to freestyle over some beats for fun aswell with friends, and maybe thats why i respect Harry a lot more because i know how impossible it is to do what he does. Ofc at this point he already has some of the bars decorated for most of the words he has been given through out the years, but he still does different setups for it even if its the same bar the delivery is different. His brain is probably the closest to an A.I. humanity has ever seen but that was because he worked really hard on his craft.

Years ago Bill Moyers did a segment for PBS that aired early eighties or so where he covered a park poetry slam in New York where kids were breaking each other with words and dance and it was awesome. I've searched for the clip but can't find it (if it exists). After he did the story rap and breakdancing became a thing. By the time it became mainstream I was already an old fogey of 25.
