I know the major Highlight for everyone lncluding me is when Caesar says "No" for the first time,but for me personally i always got the most powerful sense of chills during the sequence when the Apes wake up after Caesar had given them the Virus. The silence and looks on all their faces as they wake up with this new sense of Awareness in the mind.

Fun fact about what Matt said about if there wasn't going to be a sequel: this was already set to have a sequel.. but Rupert Wyatt (Rise Director) backed out of Dawn preproduction. So they went to Matt Reeves. But he initially said "NO". Even though he loves Planet of the Apes. He didn't want to risk working for a backseat-directing studio. But they told him tht he could do whatever he wants. And it was definitely the best thing to ever happen to this franchise... especially cuz the movie was suppose to have a different story to it. And with such a last minute gamble no one expected a third movie to come out of it. So Matt Reeves made War completely from scratch

When Caesar killed Malfoy's character, that was an accident, while yes Caesar was getting back at him for the hose used on him, however, Caesar didn't realize with the cattle prod that he would get electrocuted. Hence why he looked surprised after dropping the hose.

The gun fired from the helicopter is the M249 SAW, standard issue light machine gun for the US military (about to be replaced). Actually fires a regular 5.56mm like the AR15/M4 but its a bigger belt fed gun.

I remember this fight between Caesar and Malfoy the first time. The theaters went on cheering in the 2011 release. But when the moment Caesar said "NO!", the entire theater went dead silent. What an amazing moment!

God, that moment when Caesar first speaks is so insane. "NO!!!"

Nice to see Matt again...sorry to hear about Nova's passing. Knowing Matt's love for by-gone-Jim lines, there's one from Wandavision that would be appropriate for that situation: "what is grief, but love persevering?" Always fun to see somebody get introduced to this trilogy, and hard as it is to believe, the CGI and the cinematography both increase drastically in quality as the trilogy goes forward.

Alot would agree Rise is a good stepping stone for the series and while a good movie it didn't blow us away. But Matt Reeves Dawn and War of the Planet of the Apes are an emotional rollercoaster and I can't wait to see Matts reaction to them because those 2 movies truly are amazing.

I know it's somewhat of a mouthful, but it's meant to describe a sense of longing, of loss, and nostalgia and only exists in Portuguese. And also can mean that this new dog embodies that feeling from the loss, longing and nostalgia from the ones that have passed... Thus, in a sense, keeping them alive. And it's just a beautiful word.

i actually got into the Planet of the Apes movies last month after i found out that it was the product of humans. i watched them all in 1 day, and then recently went to see Kingdom with my friend. this series went from a total unknown territory to me, to one of my favorite franchises ever. i just LOVE the fact that this is somewhat a possibility. me and my friend talked for hours about how (true or not) something like this could have been similar to what sparked the human race. however far fetched that may seem, this series REALLY makes you think. (PS been watching since my friend watches the MCU. love ya holden, matt, jen & the rest of the crew)

Friendly Neighborhood Firearm guy here, The Machine gun the helicopter gunner used seems at first to be a M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) used by US forces for years now as a “light”hand held portable well.. a squad automatic weapon lol. But upon further investigation it’s a South Korean made K3(LMG) Light machine gun dressed up to be a M249SAW And that’s a Negative Holden, not a high caliber weapon by any means. It takes a 5.56NATO(.223) round which is used in the original m16’s-M4’s-AR15’s. -till next time 🫡

You only see it for a glimpse, but I believe the weapon the guy on the helicopter is using is a M249 SAW (squad automatic weapon). Actually, (had to say actually just for Holden) it shoots 5.56mm which is an intermediate round and what most NATO assault rifles used. 5.56mm is in the .22 cal family as the bullet itself is a .223 but unlike a .22LR a lot of people used for teaching kids firearms and for varmint control/hunting, 5.56 has a much bigger casing and way more powder making the bullet travel much much faster. Which is how it does damage.

10:55 As a hone nurse, this is a very familiar reaction to me, having to set boundaries wit hthe loved ones of a patient because their needs exceed what I can offer in my role as a nurse. This particular nurse is clearly not a professional one, as she both raises her voice to match the dad's when his alzheimer kicks in, but she also seemingly cries in frustration, IN FRONT of the patient. That's just incredibly unprofessional. If a patient gets increasingly agitated, you get increasingly calmer. You display the energy you wish to receive. An someone who presumably has worked in the field for some amount of time know that acting out like he does is the disease, not the person. Whatever he says or does is not because of her. Frustration I get. Tears I don't. She would have seen a lot worse in that field of work. Words spoken or shouted at you in anger is a lot easier to take than literal feces on your hands or legs as you clean someones rectum. Trust me, it doesnt even compare.

I'm really sorry to hear you lost your friend, Nova. I'm a cat person but it doesn't matter. Whatever fur baby someone shares their life with, is a family member and just as important as every other family member. Congratulations on the new baby! I actually really love the name Maple for her. She's the color of maple and she has such a sweet face! But whatever name you do decide on will be fine, I'm sure. Naming pets takes me a while, sometimes. Usually, a name will suddenly pop into my head, and I'll know that's the one. Good luck!

Could be wrong, but I think it’d be right up his alley, and I know others have asked for this too cuz I’ve seen other comments on other videos. A five-year reprieve would be a godsend. I took care of my mom almost entirely alone her last five years and the hell i went through was insane. She was pretty much ago mentally because her mind just reset every day. She would be sweet and nice and vaguely remember who i was or at least why i was there. By the end of the day i played the role of everyone she hated. She rarely remembered me. I mean she knew she had a daughter and two sons (my older brother had passed on by this point) just refused to believe i was him. Sometimes she told me that the wrong son died. You would think that logically i knew she wasn't well and i should just let it all go, but it wears on you after a while.

My name is Matthew, and I think something’s up because whenever I see a movie, in the past there’s been like, a 70% chance that when I see some movie that’s notable and big, Matt sees it on here, it happened with Mortal Kombat, it happened with Logan, it happened with Deadpool, it happened with Evil Dead, on and on, and I saw the Apes movies for the first time just the day before yesterday and this video happens, so there’s some kind of connection between Matts here, and now I’m going to watch the Transformers series on repeat until the connection works again and he sees Transformers, I know My Friend Watches isn’t a normal thing anymore but I’ll still try, that is the last franchise I need Matt to see before I can die happy. And maybe The Batman.

He is an incredible actor and a very swell guy. I highly recommend checking out the Stargate Atlantis Season 5 episode, The Shrine. It’s an incredible journey into Dementia/Alzheimer’s and very well done.

Man the modern planet of the apes trilogy has to be one of the best trilogies ever, the 4th one is a good continuation of Caesar’s story and more. I hope you get Matt to watch the other two so he can witness greatness.

This movie continues to be my all-time favorite film by far. Watching it for the first time was an experience I will never forget. I admit I am biased because I absolutely love apes as animals normally so seeing a film about them evolving was awesome.
