An American classic! You will see this song in a few Hollywood movies. Bobby Hatfield, the singer, was so nervous, not only because it was live but his mother was in the audience. Great reaction!!
I was going to suggest someone check the girl in red for a pulse, until she finally spoke at the end. One would never know by her demeanor all through the intro and performance; glad to know she did enjoy it.
From the Andy Williams Show, a TV variety program hosted by the guy in the middle.Williams (1927-2012) was a famous ballad singer whose top major hit was "Moon River."
@@Billy-zv6gv I'm a Boomer but in my teens acquired a taste for 1950s-era music. Mainly early rock and roll, but good music is good music. I remember watching Andy Williams' TV show. You're welcome, BTW.
When he's telling the story about how they got the name you can see he's completely out of breath, he's so nervous. Isn't it amazing how he completely switched into that wonderful voice and performance? Btw you look lovely ladies
I was a bit concerned, as some below have mentioned, about the wonderful young woman in red not appearing to react all that much to Bobby Hatfield; however, I soon remembered that some people are simply understated in their outward reactions so i think we should let her be herself and just enjoy the music. We did get a bit of a smile near the end and it was beautiful, so I would wish for a little more of that please. The other two young ladies, of course, were wonderful as well and I liked the swaying to the music as Bobby smoothly crooned his way through the song. More please!
No one has ne this song any better or as gd as bobby did it in this perforance, he was nerviouse because his m was in the audiance her first trime hearinghim live, at the end you see bobby biting his lowerer lip knowing he did it perfectly for his Mom. absolutely fantastic performance . i saw itlive on tv when they was on the show. my late wife this was her favorite song of all time. i used to lways plasy it on guitar and sung it forher for over 11 and a half years, before he passed on..
Why was the red shirt girl so distant duringbthis reaction. Also, the host, Andy Williams, has a beautiful christmas albun. He has a lovely calming voice.
Hard to believe from watching this that Bobby threw up before these performances from stage fright. Sadly cocaine contributed to bobbies death but he always managed to pull himself together to perform for us
you make it sound like he was a hard drug addict, he only had a small amount when he died, but he had an undetected heart problem., why bring it up at all.
Still posting your nonsense, I see. Needing bypass surgery is what killed him. He performed on an empty stomach so the rest of your comment is also untrue.
What does it take to get a reaction out of the young lady with the red blouse? She looked as if she was asleep but did manage a feeble clap at the end. I was surprised when she actually made a comment.
Please give us a break and turn off the tv behind you. All the action going on there waa very distracting! And everyone give red a break- her reaction was real, not faked for the camera. And that final smile was worth the wait. 🤠
The one in red looks like she wishes she was anywhere but there. Was she napping? They should also have turned off the screen behind them, very distracting.
Ladies I grew up with music. I have always enjoyed listening to it. But may I make a suggestion please don't have that anything playing on a video behind you as it is very distracting from you and the music.🇺🇲✌️🕊️☮️ Peace and Love from A Proud Viet Nam Era Veteran 🇺🇲🪖 age 72 homeless and living on the streets of Sunny Southern California.
