Thanks so much for this very clear explanation of the many setting available on the X-T2 I feel much more clear on several points. please continue to post more. Your voice is pleasant to hear and your pace of dialogue is easy to follow.
Great Tip regarding the T Setting for the shutter speed. I have been using the top shutter speed dial manually and using the "T & rear dial" is much better! I also set the Exposure Compensation to the C setting and control using the front dial. So that the rear dial depressed custom setting isn't wasted I set this to Flash control as its something I rarely use. You could also may eye focus or white balance to it as its not a setting you tend to mess about with much.
You helped me immensely. My T2 is brand new and I may shoot with it using your settings at the end of September. If you have any more tips on weddings using this camera please send me to your tutorials or any written advise. Thanks again. I have three weeks to put your settings to good practice.
I must be slower at picking up settings for my XT2 than others who have already posted. 90%+ of the time, I shoot in Aperture priority. Believe being able to set it up from the six pages of menu choices which I don't find all that difficult to follow. For portraits, people shots, set on fastest f stop and it shooting landscapes, pretty hard to go wrong with f8-16 ( at slowest). Be pleased to see how you would go about it. Thanks for the sensibly explained video.
Thank you so much for this! Just bought a X-T2 as a personal travel camera, but with the possibility of it replacing my 5d III for weddings. Feeling a bit overwhelmed after getting it out the box as its so different to Canon but this is making me feel a lot better :)
Hello Andy, thank you for sharing this great video about this amazing camera. I just bought a used X-T2 with a Fuji 27MM f2 XF , and would like to know if it is normal for the Fujifilm x-t2 lens to move (focus back and forward) for a couple seconds when you press the Play button after you take a shot to view the photo you took?
nice tutorial. knowing your preferences for your usage helps me understand why i prefer some other settings. can you talk about the settings seen on the rear lcd (particularly the over/underexpose marker), which fuji has decided to not address?
Extremely useful; Thanks for sharing! My XT-2 just arrived & this will assist with the learning curve (lighter weight system from my 1D Mark IV's & L glass). Have you found the series 1 SD cards to be sufficient when recording 4K video (if applicable)? Thanks.
Great setup video, just got my X-T2 and learning a lot. Can you provide details on the bottom mounts you had on each camera? Also just learned what the T was for on the shutter wheel :-)
These tips are very useful. hank you. Question, have you thought about upgrading to the X-H1? You are using non-image stabilized lenses. The X-H1 with IBIS would allow you to use slower shutter speeds, and therefore lower ISO's (with the non-stabilized lenses).
Hi Andy , Like your videos , Some good tips there , I have the XT2 its so light compared with my Canon 5D mk 3 . Looking forward to your next one , Cheers mate .
I am in particular working on Portrait photography - primarily natural light. I would like you comment on the best lens to use. I am now using the 18-55mm. Bought a 35 mm that I barely use..... any suggestion is welcome.
Thanks for the video! Good info. Mind if I asked where you got the lens hood for the 23? Might be me, but it looks bigger than the Fuji supplied one that comes with the lens. Thanks again!
Great video - I learnt a lot from this. Can I ask, I noticed your metering dial was set to Spot - do you use this all of the time? Also, am I right in thinking you only use the 23mm and 50mm? If so, that sounds a great idea rather than dragging around bags of lenses that you may never use. Cheers!
+Mike Mulcahy Hi Mike, I am always on spot metering, it works for me. Those two lenses are my only ones at the moment, there have been times when a wider lens would have been good but it’s fine at the moment. I am looking at options for something a little wider mainly for dance floor shots.
Even it it’s just temporary. The Sam yang 12mm f2 is excellent optically and can be one focused for dance floor shots. Unless you must have AF you will not be disappointed.
I’m not the best photographer in the world but I do love being creative and taking as many pics as I can. I think I’m gonna buy the X-T20 I know it’s not weather proof but it’s almost like the X-T2 it’s crazy!
Hi Andy how do you find the high ISO. I shot a wedding recently and was disappointed with iso and I only went to 200 max. Especially as you use a higher iso
Hi Andy, thanks for the tips, much appreciated. Can you tell me the name of the grip which you like? You mention the Meike, or whatever the correct name is. I can find that one. But the one you prefer? Thanks)
Hi Robert, it is this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quick-Release-L-Bracket-Plate-Hand-Grip-For-Fujifilm-Fuji-X-T2-XT2-Camera-UK/262733918928?epid=2080285974&hash=item3d2c2972d0:g:txkAAOSwE8NZlpIr
I recently found that out. Manfrotto advertised their Element Traveler tripod as Arca Swiss compatible, which they are clearly not. I almost dropped my Fuji X-T2 when trying to use the tripod for the first time with the original Fuji grip attached. Almost. I sent the tripod(s) back immediately.
This is exactly what we need, a wedding photographer talking about their gear on RU-vid! Thank you. Why oh why is there so few wedding photogs on YT? And there is literally no info about the X-T2 on the internet. God bless you Andy! This content is priceless and no one, absolutely no one else is doing this sort of stuff. I have been taking photographs for sixty years and I had no idea how to set up my camera for wedding photography without this video. Thank you!!! I was going to see the new Blade Runner film tonight but the moment I saw a new Andy Hirst video had been posted I cancelled all my engagements. I now know how you set up your X-T2 for weddings!!! I' m so excited I bought up a little bit of sick. THANK YOU.
It amazes me that you obviously have a lot of distain for this video, yet have taken the trouble to watch it and compose a series of comments like this. You clearly are a nasty person, probably very unhappy too! get a grip - this guy is amazing and one one the nicest people. Take your sarcasm and stick it up your arse - it might make you stop talking a load of complete FART. You clearly sure as hell haven’t got anything else going for you ( 60 years experience or not ) Two words = Victor Meldrew!
Hi, it would be the cheaper one not the Meke one Boliner Quick Release Black Metal L-Plate Bracket Hand Grip For Fujifilm Fuji X-T2 Camera www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XKWNNDY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_yekpAbEVNX5MJ
i went from full frame A series Sony to the Fuji X-T2. Smaller, lighter setup, images quality and colour science is pretty great, and the difference between full frame and APS-C really isn't all that big.
I really like lens and want to sell a couple of mine to get it. its ideal for me as a holiday all rounder lens but yes its quite big. Im tempted to change totally from canon but will slim down my canon gear first. btw my favourite fuji lens is the 16mm 1.4.
