Hi, I would add to resqdiver1 helpfull comment, that using flux which is full of acid outdoors, is sure to make problems with oxidation in a short amount of time. I speak from 40 years experience with garden railroading.
Great vid. I’d have to disagree with the “no need to clean” the surface though. My Dad was a physicist who specialized in metallurgy in the defense industry and taught me to solder. The most important part of the soldering process is surface prep. This is true for any metal(or NM) joining process, be it welding, brazing or soldering. Many of the Garden railway guys use a Dremel tool with a wire brush. Hope it was ok to throw in my 2 cents. Great vids though!🙏
Yes you could only then the rail can't move when the Sun is out. That is not good it wil break the sleepers and really ruin your day. Been there and done that had to throw a lot of tracks away.
@@BAMBAM5476, I have never seen a soldering iron like that. Appears to be working on induction or something like that. I only know soldering irons that use heat.
