This just proves how a low cost mod on an car that’s in reach of many people can make someone who owns super cars excited. To me that just show how good hot hatches are for the money and how much a small mod can change the character of the car!
I have a 66 plate polo GTI and just by putting an air filter on, it has really brought out the turbo whoosh noise that comes with releasing the accelerator. It also gives a little more grunt to the engine / exhaust sound I think. Hasn't affected MPG or fuel comsumption adversely either
Sounds sick bro! You did the right thing with remap and VW warranty, though I'd recommend DTUK tuning box undetectable when removed and say you're GTI was 245hp version you'd be looking at around 320hp and 360nm. ;)
It does, if your crossing a road and a electric car is coming and your not paying attention, BOOM your dead, you dont get that problem with a decat Aventador, you hear it 5 mile down the road giving you plenty of time and a acknowledgment to cross the road!!!!!!!!
Im sure you've been told many of times before "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" but I guess it doesn't matter if the car is loud or quite, as you wont get run over as the car will bounce of your mooossssivve forehead!!!!!
Best first mods i ever seen on VW Mk7 , great video, straight to the point not the usual waffling about the technical details, and the best part was the test drive that gives us the music all vw fans expects (dsg farts) ... vrrooomm brraaap brrrap braap. Lool
Had a gti and did those mods. The best is the intake and exhuast. Best daily driver weekender everything. The noise the gti make. Gna be spending alot more on fuel nw but well worth
Atish Sewjith did you have a tune on it because I’m considering tuning it but I’ve heard things about turbos blowing up which is in 2015 gti which is what I own.
Nice! Did they mention any potential issues with heat soak with that type of intake rather than a closed one? This engine suffers from serious amounts of heat so summer time could be an issue in town of actually making less power than stock. Sounds well though, need to get some more sound for mine 👍🏼
Great video and info. Thank you. I own a GTI so wanted to know what I could to mine. Might have to get the TG special myself lol. Different alloys definitely needed.. maybe the next step... :)
Sweet video, do you know how I would go about doing something similar here on the U.S.? I love the noises you got and haven't found another I liked as much!
Could you post a more detailed parts list? Went to the link and unfortunately they won’t ship to the states, so I’ll have to source from somewhere else. Great package overall, and I’d like to do that to mine.
It’s good to see some mods on a car most guys are running for their daily drive, plus the smile it put on your face when you heard it popping and farting on shift! Keep em coming @tge tv
@motech Performance - Was it a combination of the exhaust and the induction kit making the popping and farting louder or was it the exhaust or would adding just the induction kit be enough?
Make the gti a serie on your youtube, keep modding it and film it, change wheels / performance upgrades / lowering, air suspension / ... etc would be sick to see something like this besides all the supercar stuff !
Yep the M3 LE500, was the last batch ot the E90 M3's, think they did them in the BMW individual colours of frozen white, frozen silver and Santorinio blue(or what ever it was called) which what TGE had!!
The DSG GTI does that by default by installing a new cat-back you just made it louder lol... If you tune it the burps might go away. I know the APR Stage 2 tune eliminates them for sure.
Nice video Tom. Decent mods without going too far. You'll have to hook up with Joe Achilles when he's back from Oz. How about a relaunch of Burnouts, biceps and burgers with a side of BMW or Alpina love with the big guy?
Tom, I have just fitted a Larini club sport on my Audi R8. We should meet up soon and make some noise with your Lambo in the streets of London bro. Good stuff with the Golf. 🤘
