that upsets me so much too. I have curly hair and when I went to Target I noticed that all the curly hair products are labeled "ethnic hair". To me it's ignorant. Not every ethnic person has a different type of hair. And who's to say Caucasians can't have curly hair or whatever target means by saying "ethnic hair". I know not many see it as racist. But if you live in the US or many parts of the world actually, maybe you can understand the long history of institutionalized racism, and the idea of white supremacy. I wouldn't go so far as to say target did it intentionally, but given the circumstances in the US I would say they could of thought it out more carefully. Just my two cents!

hk40510 I can completely understand where you're coming from. I think it's honestly stupid that there are ethnic hair and food aisles because everyone has an ethnicity so labeling something ethnic makes no logical sense and is unnecessary. They aren't ethnic hair products, they're just hair products.

I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm learning a lot about caring for my curls. Honestly I always hated my hair for being frizzy and curly. Now I'm learning to work with what God gave me and be grateful and like it. Continiously straightening my hair only damages and breaks my hair. I'm working on keeping my hair healthy and growing it long.

not to be thhaaat person, but i think when companies say for normal "hair" it's the same as skin type in the sense that it is not oily, no dandruff, not dry, just normal. but i completely understand what you're saying and i do think there is a certain hair type that people refer to as "normal" and that's not okay.

Exactly what I was thinking. When hair is normal, it is balanced no matter the hair texture. The companies are not talking about hair texture because if that was the case there wouldnt be products that say for curly hair, straight, thick or fine hair.

It's funny the a million ways to shea challenge recommended the Jamaican Black Castor Oil line which has been my wash and go go to for a while now! There were a couple of new style recommendations for me too so I'm going to try those. Thanks Alba.

Beautiful results of the SheaMoisture hair products from their diagnostic tool! I did the test last week even though I know what SheaMoisture products work from me, and it was fun. I can relate to when people think your hair always looks amazing, because people say the same thing to me, but I have my bad hair days too.

Adiam Miller - I honestly try to avoid doing looks like these because people complain about how simple it is and how similar it is to my other looks. You may not be aware but this looks is repetitive for me. The only difference from this look here and my previous makeup tutorial is the lips. I have no eyeshadow on, it's just my foundation Routine, powder, bronzer, highlight, and mascara! The only change is the lips.

Alba, thanks for the video. My daughter has really dry hair as well and it seems we have tried everything but shea moisture. We will be trying it, but how often do you wash your hair per week? I believe before I was doing it to often but now I'm not quite sure. Thanks for the help.

definitely going to try this app for my daughter! She has mixed hair and i am always struggling to find products to keep her hair moisturized all day. no matter what i use it starts out moisturized and healthy looking but by the end of the day her curls are frizzy and she has fly aways. it's very frustrating when you don't know what to use and when you go to "ethnic" shops for advice on products they are short with you and not willing to help. Hoping this will help me get a hair routine started for my girl.

For your curly hair I would try to add a small amount of coconut oil as a leave in after you have applied all of your favorite products :) I feel that will add shine, moisture and also help with growth. as a matter of fact i think i should try this on myself also 😊

not directly on the root but starting an inch or two down to experiment. when you fluff you should get the perfect amount on your roots and scalp without being over oily so that you can wear it longer. 😍

I think normal hair is hair that has not been bleached, blow dried or routinely trained with a comb to lay a certain way. So I often look for products that don't contain keratin or wheat protein which helps structure hair that has been damaged by bleach. I was raised to wash my whole body including my hair daily as impurities don't land only underneath your nails.

I think normal hair is meant for the scalp area. Hair that needs a wash (before going oily) once a week, to me is normal hair. Hair that can go longer is dry hair, and hair that needs a wash more than once a week to me is oily hair. That's what "normal" means to me.

amixeblu - some people think of it this way but it also comes with the mentality that only a specific ethnicity and group of people are labeled to have normal hair while others are not normal so this is about reevaluating our definition of normal hair without making it that one is better than the other which is the mentality our society has had for YEARS!

Me and my mom have been going natural for a while now and its so hard staying natural because some days its perfect curls and no frizz and other days its a full out war with me and my hair. i really dont want to give up but some days i cant stand getting up EXTRA early to make sure my hair is okay for school or the humidity in the air that decides it wants to play out of nowhere😂

Hey guys! I have 2c curly hair and I've just tried the sheamoisture coconut and hibiscus curl enhancing smoothie for the first time. I loved how it really defined my curls, without making them very hard. My hair was VERY soft, the con about it was I used a quarter size amount and I don't have much volume in my hair and I feel it's weighed down, should I use half the amount next time style my hair with it and also what sheamoisture line is best for 2c curly hair? Dela Ella i changed my lip color 2xs in this video. During talking clips I combined a brown lip liner with a wine colored lipstick and s little pink to get the color I wanted. During styling I had the Gabriel cosmetics Berry lip liner.

all hair types. you might actually benefit from using the app because it may take you awhile if you just go to the store. all of those products can get overwhelming if you don't know what you can and can't use.

SamFun8 - they have many many different collections and each is specified for what hair type. They've done really well at making products for all. Some are for straight hair, heat protection styling, wavy hair, and curly. I use the curly ones obv. But if you look at their likes you'll find several targeted for straight/wavy or chemically treated etc... actually just use the diagnostic tool (it's free and takes 2 mins) and it'll recommend what products are best for you.

Alba how do you get rid of that middle part? I divide my hair in the middle to add the products but then at the end I want a side part as my final look, every time I do that I get a lot of frizz on top, how do you style the side part? Thanks in advance :)

Could you do a night routine because my hair looks good on one day then I'd sleep with it and it would go crazy. So could you do a routine when you wake up and what you do after sleeping xxx
