Great recommendation. They even have little locking handles on Amazon that hold hacksaw blades, Recip blades and jigsaw blades (jab saw ish) and they’re cheap on Amazon. Also they also have those adjustable file holders and those can work holding a blade or file in a pinch and you could have all the forementioned in a Cpl screwdriver slots. Good stuff on the recommendations boys
I've got a canteliver like your and made it with the same mindset. I ALSO have a smaller Japanese made Toyo metal box for lighter duty household tools with the idea of maximum versatility in the smallest box. Full set of metric stubby wrenches, Astro nano tail of impact sockets, a Wera tool check plus 1/4" set, vessel 30pc bit set, Knipex 250 Cobras & Pliers wrench, knife blade, measuring tape, 3 other pairs of pliers, Hazet bit driver and long reduced shank bits. Dedicated 5mm flat and #2ph Vessel ball grip screwdrivers, mini pry bars, extendable 3/8 ratchet, small ball pein hammer. And a fair few other things including a small 12v impact driver. Great setup. The canteliver holds a lot more serious tools but they get VERY heavy, I get it. Yours is a good setup, you'll refine it a bit as time goes on. 👍
Gotta old two drawer Craftsman toolbox I carry to whatever I'm working on. Covers most of what's needed for repair and maintenance. If needed, I can grab a specialty tool from the box. That cantilever design holds a ton more stuff!! Brand / size recommendations
I've been debating on buying a Trusco/Toyo, Japanese made cantilever box for a while now. I've got one of their regular 17-inch steel boxes, and it's great quality over all the cheaper metal boxes out there. I've been on a little Japanese made tool kick for about the last 6 months or so. I've just been really impressed with their quality for the price point. My old back would definitely need a dolly or a cart for that anymore.
Awesome setup I have a similar to go box traditional flip open lid snap on metal box with a tray it’s jammed packed with many of the same tools you have that’s my first line of defense going on a mobile job or a road trip or really anywhere I take it from the service truck to which ever vehicle never disappoints.
I have a “Road Box Set” (I have seven top & bottom boxes that are full! LOL) I’ve been wrenching & fabricating since I was a kid fixing my bicycles, mini bikes, motorcycles… I’m still a kid but now I’m 68 years. LOL) I can’t lift it!!! So I’m also putting together a cantilever box. I had basically the same tools in one larger size bag, then separated some of the tools into two smaller bags, however buy the time I’m ready do do something it’s 30 minutes later spreading things out… the cantilever box maybe isn’t perfect, but it’s way better than bags. Except for the weight.
@@EnriqueReyesJrREALTOR so far I think they made two styles small and large. Theres a snapon aviation ad that was in a WWII airplane magazine at the time showing them. You might be able to find it online? That's awesome!
I'm with you. I have a huge assortment of 1/4in hex drivers, ratchets, extensions, adapters, and bits. I can build any screwdriver I want. Also, I just picked up a vessel electric screwdriver (200rpm/2nM) as another driver.
I totally understand. This thing called "Life" can be rather consuming...lol Just a thought. I know you're in Canada, if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure you have seen the recent content by a few tool guys on the "CAT" tools available thru their local Caterpillar dealers. Some, not all are actually Snap-On tools. I actually worked as a salesman for the local CAT dealership in the Bay-area (CA) about 20yrs ago. I remember some hand tools being available in the parts department. But I really wasn't aware/interested then as my tool sickness was just beginning...lol Anyway, I'm thinking about purchasing a few socket sets. That I still need to build out my assortments of mm/sae in 1/4" & 3/8". I'm in shock of the difference in price vs. Snap-On. Let me know your thoughts if you're considering this option on some stuff that's Snap-On made.
Trusco makes some nice ones, generally they’re blue though…I’m not sure If this is one or not as I’m no expert on then by any stretch, but I have always liked them tho
