We received a free calendar in the mail. Before tossing it, I had an idea. I planned a different meal each night for January with my family's help. I made sure meal types were spread out throughout each week. I'll only need to view a recipe for a few, the rest are things we know how to easily make. My plan is to use the same plan each month (none of the meals are repeated within one month's time) until it warms up, and we add grilling options. Of course, it's flexible if we think of something else or go out, but it will save the time I spend each weekend trying to decide what we'll have the upcoming week. I'll also be able to purchase non-perishable items in one trip to make weekly shopping quicker.

Your cat is such a cat. Walking in front of the camera and then showing us his/her cat butt 😹😹. The cat sitting in the chair watching you, like hey I want to pick a dinner and don't forget the cat treats and kitty litter😸. I'm a cat person who doesn't have cats right now enjoying someone else's cats. Enjoyed this video and your vlogmas.

Fascinating! I am a Mom of two with my dear husband....and I have never meal planned in my life. I guess we are a sort of grab and go family. This is really interesting to see someone do this....By the way, I am teaching virtual this week so I have been very much enjoying your daily videos. :).

We shop weekly together. I cook Monday-Friday and he cooks on the weekends…I manage our gîte so my job is not M-F 9-5. We use our Alexa to make a list throughout the week. Following our workout on Saturday morning, I make my morning tea and plan the week. I do ask if there is something he wants to/does NOT want to have that week. For M-Th, I make a soup, salad, chicken and pork meal. On Friday, I make homemade pizza. I used to get overwhelmed about what to make until I came up with the 4 different meals. Makes it less stressful for me.

Love this! I used to be really good at meal Prepping but since spring break last school year, I’ve fallen off the band wagon. Super excited though, because my roommate and I when we move in together are going to be on the same page with meal prepping, grocery shopping and working out!❤️

My husband and I also meal plan and meal prep. Such a time saver and literally (and figuratively) the best way to batch your food. Thanks for sharing your choices. We also shop at Aldi and similar stores. I love the Aldi Finds section!

Hi Michelle! I enjoyed today's video. As you were planning meals I was wondering about how you go about deciding what you buy and how much you spend. Now that prices are up on almost every item in the store, have you kept your usual list of groceries, or have you made modifications with the types of meals you make, food brands you buy, or have you increased your grocery budget? Before the pandemic, it came a time in my family's life that we were able to splurge a bit once a month maybe twice a month on those "extra" treats. Especially, if we ONLY ate home meals. Now keep in mind, I have a large family size of 5 sometimes 6 and it gets expensive, especially now since the price increase on mostly everything. I hope you can make a video on... How did you budget yourself on a teacher's salary? Not only on food, mortgage/rent, bills, etc. But also all those extras like traveling, date nights/concerts, etc. I know this will help many, especially those starting off.
