I wouldn't say that it was an excellent film. It's shit. The acting from the little girl was the only good thing about it. That's not how abusive people act. They are like cartoon villians. And their acting is dreadful.

Schizophrenia is nothing like Hollywood portrays it. Also, smoking cannabis/weed can bring on schizophrenia, so if you have that in your family, you should not smoke it.

@jm-xr3eu it was abuse from my Bio parents. Between psychological and physical, I lost 99 percent of my childhood till I was 9. Then it all came crashing.i woke up one day and just basically went through the motions. S.A. abuse didn't happen again till it was someone else in the family at 15. I did see a psyc at 25 and he highly recommend I be removed from house. I picked up records when I was 18. I was never removed from household. I went to police. My Bio mom Always had an excuse for me to never take gym. BRUISES WERE not to be seen. This was back in 80s. All I wanted was to understand is why?? Why was I the slut why did they hate me so bad what did I do? Simple things , like my sister leaving a popsicle stick on my dresser, resulted in being locked in a small area not willing of course. No bathroom. He would even pee in his coke bottles just to make sure I only drank water. And never snuck a sip. I'm older now I've been medicated more when I was in 20 and 30s now just matenience. Last time I changed 4 a long time was for 2 yrs. I am still married to my husband but he made sure I was safe. He's wonderful. If you have Trauma it doesn't have to be the same Trauma is Trauma. If you need to talk I'm here .I'm open about it cause I know it sucks buts As long as u don't do the same traumas to others ( children) and u realize ITS NOT YOUR FAULT. IT GETS EASIER. DO I TALK TO MY BIO PARENTS?? Nope after many attempts to ask why me?? And not the other 2, they just say Move on He and I made mistakes Get over it. No apology. I removed them from my heart. I would be dressed in rags they were vry high up in the Mason's and Shriners. So 900.00 for a outfit was nothing for them to spend they had plenty of money. I paid rent at 14 cleaning houses. I was ever encouraged to lay down with Mr.Pancheri (never forget his name) naked in bed for and extra 50.00. I told mom she said do it it's only an old man. I didn't. It's a fucked up story , one No one should have to live. I still go through voices and triggers everyday ..But I'm stronger now with a great support system

That's important someone warning about this movie if/when someone has been abused / have bad traumas etc. Especially because everyone seems to praise this movie & I loved it too but tbh in real life there is so much cruelty in this twisted world. Thank you.

I know its just a film but it does go on ,and on the other hand theres lovely parents also ,these 2 are not fit or nice to look after a pet hamster let alone children

Good movie, the little girl does a good acting job, though hope young kids acting in such dark films get lots of psychological support from the movie producers. Good ending, even if a little bittersweet, but don't want to say any more in case it spoils the ending for viewers because it's well worth watching 7+ out of 10

Agreed. You know if children are such a problem for some folks, then why not consider adoption to a loving family? Plenty of people would love to be proper parents and raise a child who are unable to have any of their own.

Just watching her tie her up was creepy

She let's her sisters ghost into her body and the parents get killed. She gets freedom and I'm pretty sure the witch lady ends up adopting her however that's not fully stated just alluded to
