The guitar community will have reached true enlightenment when we can all just admit that we buy things simply because they look cool. There doesn't need to be any further justification.

Your guitar is just a pickguard but you don’t even use a pick. Might get rid of that as well then.🤔

Fender guitars were built with economy in mind and used whatever wood was available cheap and reliable. Now those vintage guitars are glorified due to their sound. The same can be said of most vintage instruments and builders. TonewoodTM is a result of yet another successful marketing camping to make guitar players doubt their instruments and buy something else.

I've recently realised that the problem people have is that they confuse them with acoustic instruments. But other than the string assembly you need to think of them as synthesizers.

Nice playing! I get so annoyed when reviewers of the Traveler’s guitar treat them only as “travel guitars” and don’t give any pros and cons to them just as guitars generally. So lightweight, they seem perfect for those of us who don’t want to hurt our backs any further. I’m looking forward to trying one out.

I remember watching a Video where a guy uses a machine to play the guitar the exact same way every time, then he does rhings like swap out the wood, neck, or get rid of everything but the strings and pickup entirely. Pretty sure the conclusion was "only the strings and pickup matter".

I bought and returned one of these on sale. It definitely takes some getting used to, and isnt for everyone. But if you adjust your arm and wrist, its unexpectedly good like any other Strat. For me, for my arm and wrist positions when standing and sitting, I just couldnt get it comfortable with a pick. Finger picking was the most comfortable.

I got used to it already, way easier for both of my shoulders, you just need to find ways to balance the neck dive, like changing bridge block to brass or steel.

I think I read in one of your video descriptions that you use the PreSonus AudioBox GO. Seemed to be working pretty well for you so I picked one up. Did you have any trouble with setup? For some reason, mine works fine on GarageBand for iOS. It also works with the MacOS DAW that comes with the interface. But I can't get any sound out of channel 2 on GarageBand for MacOS. And on channel 1 it's quiet, crackly, and it goes in and out. I've tried all the normal things with no luck. Thought I'd see if you'd had any issues and been able to figure them out before I returned it. Either way, great job with the channel!

Haven't use that interface for a while, I'm using apogee jam 96k for this video. Sounds like a defect one, better return it.

In order to start creating, you really don't need anything other than a laptop + an inexpensive instrument (or even without it, hello plugins), but if we're talking about truth and sound, unfortunately, you are wrong. Yes, the pickups play a very big role in the sound of the electric guitar, but the quality of the rest of the components, the wood - its breed and age (dryness) play an equally important role - all these things have a huge impact on the resonance of the instrument and as a result you get a fatter, brighter and transparent sound . This greatly improves the dynamic properties when playing the instrument, it allows for better articulation, you can mumble or whisper as well as moan and scream on such an instrument! I know this from personal experience as I've upgradet more than one of my own guitars, electric guitars and basses... If it was that simple and depended only on the pickups, I wouldn't do it, I'm too lazy.. but a natural interest and desire to explore the sound and properties of his instrument gave very good results.

The truth is nobody cares about your guitar tone, if you don't say, people won't even know your electric guitar is made from wood.
@benny1433
@benny1433 Год назад
@@playpm the truth is that music as a cultural phenomenon is a very subjective thing, and you can spend eternity arguing about what and who likes or likes more... in my opinion, the voice is the vocalist's instrument, and if it is set and well developed, the vocalist can get a better tone from it, which will make his skill higher. an instrument, and in this case, the guitar is an extension of the guitarist's hands, a good instrument, in this example, can be equated to good genetics, which gives good deposits and, in fact, opportunities for people who want to achieve more in music... People don't need to tell people what your guitar is made of, whether it's plastic or metal, whether it was bought on AliExpress or in a custom shop... play for yourself and from the heart - people like the tone and a good tone fascinates them, especially in skilled hands ...

Hmm, I'd suggest you go watch Jim Lill's video on "what makes a guitar sound the way it does?" and "where does guitar sustain come from?" He does suuuper in depth experiments, and he came to the conclusion that it's more or less all marketing fluff. It's like 4 things that makes a guitar sound the way it does. And as for sustain, it's like... finger accuracy on the frets, single point of contact on the bridge, and not having the action to low. No BS about "wood" tones or any of that crap. Videos ar entertaining as hell too. Tone snobs are the sommelier of the guitar world. And they're beginning to be outted as such. Oh and Jim Lill did a video on amps as well and found much of the samek marketying BS.
