Looking at painting my 240sx soon, and seeing someone else learning just makes it easier for me to learn myself. Thanks, man. Hoping this channel blows up at some point!
Nice set up i place my filter air rig out right off the rig then hose connection, I use Kobalt air rig 32 psi then hose connection regulator at the finger tips less cumbersome, I've been spraying since age 12 ,45 years now Don't be afraid to take a mini file smooth teeth for making the ports within the spray system it's self a tad bigger, fine tune lol I have a 60 years old Binks my DADS FIRST gun conventional gun that shoots all you put through it with ease .Spray On .
Face mask I use full face charcoal breather it's 40 years old South Western Paint supply long ago, now I use a jet fan to pull any air borne spray debris with a stage two air filter on its intake side keeps air clean,I'm refinishing a kitchen that was built in 77 at this time know this a True Spraymen can always find work practice makes perfect my Dad was Baylor college of Medicine Master Painter for 26 years I'm His last 7 year Apprentice trained within Baylors Apprenticeship program spraying to me is freedom I'm now an Facilties Estate care specialist if it's stained painted and or Laqcured I've shot it lol ,it's awesome to see this nation's youth follow their passions in life I'm 57 now spraying for me is a way of life I make all I touch beautiful .now I learn Air Brush I'm bored lol , True Tradesmen are rare now,and we always walk in diversity of skill sets chosen in life Always Learning new things Keeps me young fit and in mind , it's awesome to see so many making videos of the latest tech sprayer available, chk out spraying with a Kettle pot rig freedom of movement always always be mindful hoses lol .
Great video. Could you put the regulator and filter between some hose and the compressor so it wouldnt be so awkward? You could drape it on your shoulder or hold it, so you dont drag it across your work. Or do barbell curls since that setup is just as heavy! How about a purging video, especially for those with larger tanks with more gunk and moisture in them?
dont know what am i doing wrong but when i connect regulator to a hose, nothing happens on the gauge and when i connect gun, no air goes to it, i have 2 regulators but none of them work
did you buy the hf brass regulator? i bought one of those and it sucks. it has a very small adjustment range and it seems like its either on or off. not much in the working range. i then bought the one that appears to be a chromed finish and it works so much better. the difference of a $1 just one hook away on the shelf. take the needle out of this purple gun and polish it . put it in a cordless drill and spin it in some fine paper. I happen to have a roll of 30 micron paper and run the tip in that a few seconds to a minute getting all the rough machining grooves out and making it super smooth . youd be surprised how much it helps flow paint. this little $9.99 gun can lay some paint.
Good Video, thanks for the instructions. I have a question for you if you are already running an air filter and Dryer at the compressor do you still have to have the water filter at the gun?
Not at all. If you have a good high quality system at the compressor area you don’t really need one at the gun. It’s cheap insurance but some people don’t like adding all the accessories right by the gun as it makes it bulkier and may be harder to maneuver
Even the chepie guns like these will spray much better with Hi-Flo fittings. That fitting you installed is highly restrictive. Purchase a Hi-Flo fitting and compare the inside diameter of the two and you will see what I mean. You really want cfm over psi with these guns...
@@BulliKid check harbor freight... www.harborfreight.com/high-flow-aluminum-coupler-connector-kit-4-pc-63546.html?_br_psugg_q=hi+flow and then Home Depot has them as well... www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-High-Flow-Aluminum-Coupler-Plug-Set-HDA22500/305303819
fartpoobox ohyeah wherever your soft line plugs into a hard line, yes, you need a hi flo male and female fitting there (if this is a removable hose). Each hose you attach needs to have the fittings as well if they are up stream from your gun.
That first fitting was superior shoulda grabbed the blue Merlin hi flow coupler kit it’s only 1/4 I think but better than industrial or automotive style. I prefer the Milton or flexzilla 3/8 hi flow coupler
Great video. Your hands are mimicking that of Chris Fix!. Haha. It used to be that the gauge and water separator was attached to the compressor. Why is that not done now?
I have seen bigger compressor systems have a dedicated water separator by the tank but not sure f they would use another one by the gun or not. As far as pressure regulator. I know my compressor has some regulators by the tank but this one is needed so we can see the accurate psi by the gun. That’s my understanding...
i like the setup and vid but I'm thinking of putting the filter on the compressor and the regulator on the gun to shorten it up a bit should work right?
Yes it should work too. But I see more people having it by gun for some reason so I’m doing the same. Thanks for watching! What are you gonna be painting??
This is so helpful thank you so much for the simple explanation. Now I have a bigger gun for primer and another for base / clear coat, do I need to buy another regulator and water trap? So I don’t have to keep unscrewing it ?
That gun waste 3 times more paint then the hf $70 gun. Save money on paint and get a decent gun. I bought 3 of thoes junk purple guns, so much orange peel and poor atomization.
BULLI KID you can get a good job from rusto paint, use “Japan drier” with the mix and it dries much better and a little more glossy then you can cut&buff the paint like I did on my old integra, it was very nice.
@@randabuffer6562i am experimenting trying to get a good smooth finish out of the gun. experimenting with mixing ratios and what not. 1:1 lays like glass but you will run most likely and is tricky
@@BulliKid yep try it on your next vid i will cost u 10$ or less its i made a mistake its actually w71 a copy of iwata w71 spray gun😅 its spray better than h827 spray gun it sprays very fine😊
