The mistreatment that SM gives RED VELVET is so frustrating.. these girls are soooo talented and have a lot of potential and the way SM just ignores them is exactly like how they treated f(x).. so infuriating! They should be promoting more, going to coachella, more mini albums and more brand deals! This is getting ridiculous.. and reveluvs don’t even try to stream 🥲 it makes me so mad, the situation is so stressing

I agree, I enjoy bubble gum and how sweet as background music and the songs are pretty chill and nice, but they’re a little boring imo

bubble gum is wayyy better than how seet, the fact we had to wait over a month to listen to it on streaming platforms really didn't help this release, specially with al the MHJ controversy

Definitely agree that Bubblegum is better. How Sweet is growing on me and I do find myself singing the chorus sometimes but I do agree that these two are a little boring as well as the choreo. Kinda waiting for a change in concept. Their concept is what drew me to NewJeans and made me a Stan but I really wanna see them tap into something more in your face.

MHJ relationship with New Jeans is not different than Bang Si Hyuk's relationship with BTS . We have years of video evidence of weird and questionable stuff BSH made BTS go through and put up with, especially when they were very young, just to push an underdog narrative to gain/retain fan loyalty. One can say that the way BTS is "used" and "mistreated" by BSH/HYBE, even today, is a look at what the future holds for NJ and MHJ/Ador.

its weird, i feel like newjeans fans should want the best for the girls and recognize the toxic relationship/situation that they are in, so it's confusing to see them so relentlessly defend min heejin and ador

As someone who has almost the exact opposite mindset (support the girls as individuals while denouncing abusive power structures around them; meanwhile can't bring myself to support the girls commercially), I think it may have something to do with the fans' wishes for the girls to continue being successful over any possible concerns for their mental health. And I actually kind of mean this empathetically where it's not that the fans wouldn't care about their mental health, but that they're seeing the group's success with rose tinted glasses, which make red flags really difficult to make out. I unfortunately feel that it's the same for both the girls' parents and the girls themselves, who are in this situation where they do see people like MHJ as a source of their past success, so it's a bit like a set up to an abusive power dynamic parallel where an abused victim sees their abuser as a source for all their dreams coming true. I believe that until the victims' well being is perceived to be more important than their success, the victims (and fans of such victims) wouldn't want to think poorly of victims' possible abuser.

Though I personally really enjoyed this era of aespa, it's actually refreshing to hear a fan express the opposite opinion after always seeing comments like 'x group never misses' whenever a group has a new comeback. I'd say that my only criticism towards this era is something applicable with other aespa albums after savage era : their incohesiveness. A commen trend with aespa's albums is that the first few songs align with the main title track themes and then the rest of their albums tend to explore 2 other completely different themes. I think that Bahamas would be great in a summer album, where Better Things is the title track. Live my life has a nostalgic, slice of life ending-credits-of a-movie feel that could've been great on the My World album to signify the girls reflecting on their experiences in Kwanya after having defeated the black mamba and now reintergrating into the real world. Long chat's alien concept also fits My World's concept of aespa being a phenomenon in the real world etc... Overall I believe that this album is aespa's 2nd strongest one to date, with savage still being their best.
