I've suffered terribly with hay fever and general allergies for over 4 years since we moved to our new home. I typed this comment while watching the video, and so didn't notice that it's designed to work with the Tuya Smart Life ecosystem. I use a first generation Mi Air Purifier in my bedroom, and while I live in Singapore, I don't think the current models are officially available in the UK, so it's nice to see another option for an air purifier with "smart" features! Mine's slightly modified to pull more air through the filter by partially blocking the fan intake vents on the side, but I don't think that needs to be done on the current generation 2.5 and Pro models. As for filters, that isn't a problem as the filter cartridges for the current models are backward compatible all the way to the first generation, except that the NFC tag on the bottom isn't used, as the newer models use it to track filter usage automatically, but the filter timer on the older models has to be reset manually by holding down the button on the back. This first generation also has only 5 fan speeds instead of variable speed, and also has just a few indicators, instead of a round screen with some information. Interestingly, to me, it initially didn't have integration with Google Home and some other services, but that was retroactively added through updates.

Last time I was this early for a video we were still at IMNC HQ MK1. That out of the way, I've got nasty allergies myself, so this should be an interesting video to check out - we've been considering a purifier here.

Thanks for the review, as a fellow hayfever sufferer i can sympathize. Decided to get one of these units myself, hopefully it helps although ironically summer seems to have been washed away recently.

Hi Tom, I have just seen your video. I must say it’s great and it gave me this one more last chance to fight my hay fever that I have been struggling for years with and I just cannot deal with it anymore. Therefore I hope this machine will help me fight it! I have a question about the tablets and the wipes that you use as well as the machine as I would like to try them out. If you could please provide the names/links of those I would be very grateful!!!

Really glad that you find something that works for you! For what it's worth, I recently tried Cetirizine hydrochloride for the first time. I've had hay fever since around 13 (I'm now a wrinkly @ 47 lol); but by some strangeness I'd never tried Cetirizine before. However, when I did take a 10mg tablet recently my symptoms disappeared inside 20 mins. Absoutely gobsmacked! I find that it also works to combat symptoms related to MSG (monosodium glutamate) sensitivity and even reduces headaches. Thought I'd share my own successes, but YMMV.

Oh this is honestly great, I was considering to get one myself from Dyson but the cost was just too high, this might be a great alternative as I also suffer from hay fever with pollen being a huge pain. Thanks Tom :D

Excellent video Tom, few questions for you. Do you feel the air feels cleaner around your home from this device? Do you find there’s less stale air? Also do you think it would still benefit from it if you don’t suffer from hay fever? Great to see so many uploads from you. Is there any way to support you on Patreon or anything? Hey Jamie, thanks for the comment. The air feels noticeably cleaner and fresher in our bedroom since I fired up the air purifier. There's a noticeable difference in air quality when entering the room. I'm hoping to get another one for downstairs, and I'm interested to see how well it performs in a much larger space. It is definitely beneficial even if you don't suffer with hay fever or allergies. The dust collection alone is a big deal for me as like I said in the video, all the surfaces are noticeably less dusty now, so that means less dusting required. Also the general feeling of freshness is worth it too, and just knowing that the air you're breathing is cleaner. Thank you! Over the lockdown I had a great opportunity to reconnect with IMNC and ramp things up gain. I feel it was a massive success, and I was able to put out 2 videos a week most weeks. I'm now back in full time work and have been for 3 or 4 weeks, but still managing to get 1 video per week out to the channel which I'm very pleased about. I would love to start a Patreon campaign, but I'm not quite there yet. I'm going to see how the work situation is over the next few months as the effects of Covid show themselves in the long term, and maybe Patreon will be an option then. I've got some general networking / smart home bits and pieces planned, as well as planning an update to my entertainment system downstairs. Lots of fun stuff to look forward to.

I use an Oreck XL Truman Cell Air Purifier - I know how you fell with your hay fever as around September/October of each year my sinuses get plugged and everything when they harvest almonds as my home is surrounded by almond orchards. They shake the trees with a machine which then releases so much dust, sometimes it is so dusty that you can't even see the road when you are driving. So Claritin, Flonase, and Sudafed are my friends during that time of year so that I can breathe and function.
