i feel like myheritage is a great test if you're jewish. they literally specify every jewish community possible, but still lump a huge chunk of china as simply "chinese". lumping papua together with indonesia & malaysia when they're closer to filipinos than papuan. all the mainland southeast asia is also lumped into one, overall not great if youre of east eurasian ancestry.
Yes, i dont understand why they create "mainland southeast aisan " ethnic groups. For me, there should be cambodian (khmer), thai and laotian (thai kadai), vietnamese (vietic), burmese (sino tibetan people in south east asia) and hmong (hmong mien)
I don’t think great for Jewish people. It does not show what estimated percentage of middle eastern and europian and so on they are. My heritage literally put Jewish as an ethnicity of its whole, like for example ashkenazis who actually have europian in them but it does not show it.

There should be seperate groups for central asians. Are Mongols, Uzbeks, Tajiks, Pashtuns and Kazakhs same? But there is 1000000 different versions for Jews lol

Tajiks should be separate as well but with this logic Tajiks and Pashtuns are Iranic too, they should be categorized same with Persians and Kurds. Iraqis and Syrians are Arabs, or at least they are the same ethnicity but they are seperated too. There is also seperate groups for Algerians, Moroccans and Tunisians, aren't they same ethnicities too? There are lots of thing i dont understand in this video, why are Albanians and Greeks categorized same? Why are south and north italians seperate? It used to be South Italian and Greek before and why there is 100000 version for the Jews?? The actual Jews are from Middle East, not from Europe, Central Asia pr North Africa. Imagine you are algerian(I am not algerian) and want to know how native you are. In the old version they showed 20-40% arabic and rest north african. Now they put likely 99% algerian. Same thing with turkish and mesopotamian people. I think jewish ethnicities are useless too.

the company is based in israel, so obviously it wouldnt mention palestine. though palestine jordan syria and lebanon should be grouped into one forming a general levantine group. i dont know how they split lebanon from syria, are the differences that big?
Hope that they could pay a bit more attention to East Asia, cause the categories in that region are still a bit vague. At least they need to separate the Chinese into 3 categories, North Chinese, South Chinese, and Lingnan Chinese.
@@Twestliw there are 56 recognised ethnic groups in china, you are thinking of the han chinese which speaks mandarin and covers over 90% of china, theres tons of groups in china that arent as known that have fully tan dark skin which are native to china. Theres even ethnic groups in parts of china where the chinese people look western european-ish. China is very diverse.

Are your results already updates then? But to be honest how are they going to determine all these groups when lots of these groups do not even test their DNA.
I feel that with this update they tried to associate certain types of dna with specific modern day countries and not ethnicities...so it is more likely for someone to get 100% a certain country now especially if all 4 grandparents were born in that country

Alot of these are somewhat inaccurate/inappropriate.. Some of these are completely inaccurate. But kudos to them for getting at least some of the ones right though and not simply pasting the harmonic scale for absolutely ALL the peoples of MENA
