My Hero Academia 7x4 The Story of How We All Became Heroes - GROUP REACTION!!! 

*Mr. Aizawa’s speech to Aoyama honestly made me cry. I’m so happy that he has no intention of expelling him since I really don’t think he deserves it. Also Hatsume is back! It’s good to see that she’s still been in relatively high spirits despite everything that’s been happening! 😅*

The plan is more complex than what they revealed here. As you will see in coming episodes, wouldn't be as interesting if we got all the steps in one go but you know what they say about the best laid plans. Also, this is technically the last slow episode. It's all downhill from here.

I’m only now realizing U.A.’s weird obsession with muzzling the students. Like, I’m not complaining, but this seems like a violation of some kind. Also, heck yeah! Hatsume is back and she’s looking great-

Aizawa: “Aoyama. There’s only one thing you can do…….tatakae.” Aizawa in his Eren Jaegar era 😏 Aizawa: “Keep moving forward until all your enemies stop twinkling and you won’t be expelled for ten years at least.”

I like how Horikoshi structures “the power of friendship” around genuine cooperation. It’s a big theme that nobody can live this life alone and re-contextualizing a popular shonen trope through the lens of actual support works really well. Hero society partly fell because of All Might and Deku’s toxic idea of heroism being about self-destructive self-sacrifice. But the new generation is about how we all can be heroes in our own way. Like Hatsume said, inventing support items with her support course classmates is her way of being a hero. It’s why the Culture Festival worked well for me because it was about putting on a concert to save a little girl’s traumatized heart. Deku saved Eri physically, but she still wasn’t saved emotionally. That’s why Jiro originally wanted to do music and later became a hero: she wanted to save people’s hearts. This series is truly about heroism in all the various ways that we can be heroes. It’s why I’m okay with the series being more about sentiment than action at times.
