Threatening an author over a fictional guy that just saved the day using some dope fire techniques _Sounds logical_

As a Hero I've respected Endeavor, but as a father & husband he digusted me... But I am glad that with the whole becoming #1 he's started to wake up and realize the wrong he has done and how he wants to fix things anyway he can. Maybe he can never redeem himself but the fact that he's realized the wrong and wants to at least try to repair and change, shows a definite more human side of him.

These people make anime fans look bad

People who are hating Endeavor's development are pretty much saying a person can't change for the better. It's like saying a drug addict will always be just that and that they shouldn't even try to change.

Why do people gotta hate the author I love the character development

Sometimes I hate this fandom. Like this dude puts so much effort into this story and people are so quick to shoot him in the foot with insults if they don't get what they want. It's disgusting. He guy puts in so much work.

i remember the days when characters that killed hundreds and sometimes billions would get redeemed and become fan favorites without any drama......and they don't even face consequences for their past and the people they hurt forgive them instantly........i guess abuse is worse than genocide lol

Endeavor is a pretty bomb character but to threaten someone because your show isn't on your level of standards shows how pathetic people are. They won't do it in one's face but their keyboard warrior status is God level

I hope that Horikoshi doesn't really take this to heart. If he actually become despressed again and contemplates suicide, that could be a pretty serious crime. These "fans" should seriously stop acting like a 5 year old kid and just let Horikoshi do whatever he wants. PLUS ULTRA FOR HORIKOSHI!

Sasuke,vegeta and Itachi were all literall genociders. They make Endeavor look like a saint. If they can somehow be forgiven then i'm pretty sure Endeavor can as well.

All these people hating on endeavor are probably newer anime fans who arent used to complex characters. Good anime usually isnt black and white and is generally grey and that's what I love about it. When you think of morality as this definite thing where some people are solely good and some solely bad, you lock yourself into such a closeminded and hypocritical mindset

The only people hating on him are the SJWs and Tumblr warriors that clearly don't understand what the hell is even going on in the current arc. Horikoshi is not trying to redeem Endeavor. He's trying to make the reader understand that, despite his flaws, Endeavor is someone that's trying to change for the better. He's trying his best to become both a better hero and a better person.

I have always wanted Endeavor to end up redeeming himself, it makes for a greatly realistic character arc of a man who has committed many wrong doings and he has slowly begun to realize that he must fix them. Honestly I find this moment to be one of my top 5 Hero aca moments.

I mean sure Endeavors a piece of shit who honestly did a unforgivable act like domestic abuse (unintentional or intentional I don't remember exactly). But c'mon people it's no new thing when characters like Endeavor get development or "redeemed". Horikoshi is writing a story a narrative this is still fiction, let the man do his thing.

The people hating Endeavor's redemption and sending Horikoshi threats thinking that horrible people can't change are because they themselves are horrible people who don't want to change.

So I'm wondering how many people caught the subtle hint on chapter 188 page 8. Where Endeavor's thought of his problem with overusing his quirk leading to lowering his motor functions, as his past memories past by. What I've taken from that scene was that he initially sought after his wife, not just to "create" his master piece offspring, but find someone who would allow him to cool off from his quirk. Help him to achieve his goals to verge that gap, climb the unscalable summit. This is when the flash back during the All for One, On for All he had comes in. His "endeavor" left futile leading toward a wrong turn at the bend. The atrocities he's caused for the his own despair cannot be a valid excuse, and man it really was a loss in humanity to a point. His eyes during his lunacy is a great example of it, Shoto had them too. But after seeing All Might's true form, witnessing that summit crumble before him. He attained it... That unscalable summit served to him through a silver plater after All Might's retirement. The frustrations he felt achieving his goals, not through his own efforts initiated the change within him. When he had the chance to talk to All Might, his eyes were far different from the ones of malice. This is where and why Hawks came in. Horikoshi needed a character who saw the back of the number two and effort he's put in. Be the one to give the credit to Endeavor's efforts. All Might can't fill that role, and Hawks really got the personality to fir that role. This whole arc isn't to redeem Endeavor for the disgusting fucked up shit he's done, it's to showcase his character arc and growth. To bring this character to not fill the role of the symbol of peace, but a symbol of endeavoring through the times of the loss of that symbol of peace. Well it really depends on how Horikoshi plans to play out how Dabi fits into all of this. But yeah, have no idea how to wrap this rant out... Used to hate Endeavor, but he's grown on me. The depth Horikoshi has given him is a big part. Also sorry bout using endeavor so often, that words is him and what he stands for.

My Hero fans: vote Bakugou, a character who bullied Midoriya to the point of telling him he should kill himself and never once showed remorse for it, as the number one character in the popularity polls. Also My Hero fans: Endeavor did terrible things to his family and isn't allowed to have a redemption arc. Obviously what Endeavor did is quite a bit worse than what Bakugou did, but I'm still sensing some real hypocrisy here.

His personal actions should not reflect his hero duties, iron man is an alcoholic, antman was one time a wife beater, nothing is black and white with hero's, the whole point of endeavour being brought into being no.1 and being the new symbol of peace, he is slowly realising that it isn't power and ultimate power that makes a hero or a set of rules that one must follow, upon being no.1 his goal is complete and he hates how he has become it And everything he did to his family was for nothing. If he reached number one through shoto in his mind it would have been worth all the bad things but it wasn't, he had tunnel vision where anything was worth it for beating all might. But it's gone... He has to come to turns with his life and actions and ultimately find out not what makes a hero but what makes him a hero. The no.1 hero .

but the manga and anime film Koe no Katachi is so loved. Shouya bullies Shouko physically and left an emotional impact on her (as a result of her disability), though he has redeemed himself. What people don’t understand is that facing your problems doesn’t pardon your sins. All it does is that it prevents you from making the same mistake again, and perhaps even becoming accepted as a human. Despite Endeavor’s history, keep in mind that his profession is saving others, so underneath his sometimes violent actions is someone who, at the end of the day, wants to be the best at helping and saving others. His sins will forever be a part of him and will never go away, but at least he is changing

God Endeavor and Todoroki’s story is one of the most realistic takes on an abusive family in the entire anime. Shoto does not get over his issues overnight. He still suffers from fear and self doubt. Endeavor realizes his stupidity in neglecting his family for power when he realized he was always running after a hollow image of power. Shoto might kinda hate Endeavor but still cares a lot. The slow burn road to make peace with the family for both of them. And how Shoto sees himself in his father and can therefore be someone who could probably see his father’s side of things. S

I just wanna see Dabi reveal himself as Endeavor's son

Maybe a character can't be redeemed for what they did, but if a character genuinely shows regret and actual change from where they were before, and tries to become a positive force in a world, they can at least be tolerated, and perhaps respected. Maybe somewhere down the road of possible redemption, they can be accepted, using their past as a lesson to become a better person in the present and future? Things like this, especially this character, point out a sensitive issue that is controversial even in the real world - The change and regret shown by people who have done horrible things and want to change. We don't know, and I don't know, whether we can trust people like that to be better. My stance on this is tentative, but while i don't think he should be forgiven just yet because he's shown some regret for decades of abuse, I think that there is a small chance he might change for the better. Above all, the author should not be sent hate for portraying such a character, but rather actually praised for presenting and bringing forth such a complex and very real reality that we sometimes see, and go through.

The latest chapter was lit in my opinion

I don't understand why every is so upset with Hirokoshi about Endeavor, there have been both Super Heros and Anime/Manga Characters written in a similar way to Endeavor yet no one understands that. The whole point of this arc is redemption for Endeavor and him trying to understand what it really means to be the number 1 hero. Darth Vader is a perfect example of what's happening right. He kill almost all the Jedi at the Jedi temple, even the younglings, he's killed thousand of innocents, he's even killed his own master but yet he was redeemed in Luke's eyes after he killed the Emperor to save his son. People need to relax and let the man tell his story he's not even done with the arc yet he's getting death threats over this. Just ridiculous.

This is for the people that seems mad because of Endeavor's arc. My father was abusive when I was a child, but time passed and he's not abusive anymore, he recognized his mistakes and did his best to be a better father, he's my father after all,he left wounds in me but I can't hate him and things are better now. He's an human being. I know other people who had abusive, alcoholic or absent parents but none of those people wants them dead. Mi point is: people and family relationships are complex,they are not black or white, but more like gray. I think Horikoshi tries to represent that in his story, but it seems SJW don't get it because they don't interact much with people. If you don't like Horikoshi or BNHA because it "triggers" you just don't read it but please don't send him death threats, you are basically hurting a real person because of fictional characters.

It's honestly pathetic. Going after an author for trying to develop a character in their story, you know these people have to be no older than 13. If they are, then what a sad way to live. Getting triggered by a fictional characters development. BNHA is incredibly well thought out in my opinion, and I feel that Horikosi has been doing a fantastic job at redeeming Endeavor throughout the last few chapters. Anyways, thank you Tokyosaurus for bringing this to light. I really hope that this does not discourage Horikoshi from continuing with the manga, because it is definitely one of the best manga I have read.

It’s so funny that the mha fandom hates endeavor so much but worships the ground bakugou walks on, even though you can argue that bakugou is a similar level of shitty person for bullying someone for 10+years and telling him to commit suicide

I’m so far loving the endeavor arch. To take a character set up to be hated and being making him more understandable and human by have this opportunity to change his ways and hopefully others opinions of himself. It reminds me of how Zuko worked hard to gain team avatar’s trust in Last Airbender.

Toriyama and Kishimoto justify characters who killed millions of people, shinobi terrorists, and someone who assassinated their own clan (before you comment, I'm just making an example. Yes, I do know that Itachi did it for the village, but we don't know if that was what Kishimoto had always planned), but defending a domestic abuser is out of bounds. Disclaimer: I am not supporting domestic abuse, but at the same time I am also not supporting mass murder, terrorism, and killing all of your clan.

I feel like the people who hate this are those who are out of touch with the world and just harbor bitterness cause people are/were mean to them. I’ll be real, my dad abused me and my mother as a kid, I had to call child protective services for it to stop, since I’ve grown stronger and older he knows he can’t do anything like that anymore, I hate him, but he’s my dad. He’s a piece of shit but I don’t want him to die. Shoto, I could only imagine feels the same way. Endeavour is flawed and resented but he’s growing. He’s not the man he used to be, he knows where he stands and what he did wrong and he’s moving towards a future where his children and his wife accept him. Whether you like it or not, this chapter is his starting line, his chance to become the hero he aspired to be, and to take that weight of feeling defeated off of the people around him. Sure I saw the character during the sports festival and thought “what a piece of shit” but when I saw his fight in the Hosu incident it opened my eyes. ENDEVOUR IS A HERO WHO SAVES PEOPLE! DONT FORGET THAT!

Liking the character of Endeavor ≠ liking domestic abuse. People are almost never black and white. That's what makes us human. Some of my favorite characters are ones that I started off hating, but eventually grew to love as they themselves grew as characters. This day and age is SO PC that they would rather have characters be one dimensional propaganda billboards, as opposed to characters with REAL flaws and REAL problems.

Endeavor is a bad father and I know how Shoto feels. He probably still hates his father, but he does respect him as a hero. Its not good to see him die, no matter how bad he really is. Also we don’t know how things turned out with Dabi stepping in. Maybe karma will get the better of him or perhaps not. Horikoshi does not deserve to be treated bad. He’s trying to give character development and people are flaming him for that? Characters are sometimes like people. They either change or they get too old to be their former selves. Why can’t endeavor change and become a better person.

It's his manga. He can take it in whatever direction he wants. That being said it does seem like we are getting some kind of redemption for Endeavor though I think people are expecting a different kind. People seem to be under the impression that Hori is going to have Endeavor completely forgiven which baffles me because if you've noticed he always brings some kind of punishment to those that stray from the path of a true hero and Endeavor definetly did for a long time. Endeavor might be recognized by his son as a hero but never as a father and I don't expect forgiveness but rather acceptance that people can try to change.

I've seen ppl justifying what Todoroki's mom did because it was Endeavor's actions that pushed her towards it. If we see a flashback of Endeavor being abused by his dad or something, will that suddenly justify what he did to his family?

Alright alright, I very well understand that these are fictional characters, but if there a father who, clearly, made some very bad choices (Endeavor) in his life to hurt others (todoroki and his mom) wouldn’t you rather see the Father and family’s relationship get better and heal, rather than just “ok Endeavor died, woo all our problems are solved”.

I don't know, it feels like cultural backlash to me. Last time I checked, folks on the US and western Europe all are sensitive about child abuse to the point people like me or the Japanese find it, well, baffling really; we're taught that stern and strict parents will bring the best out of their spawn. Physical punishment isn't uncommon, whereas I'm fairly certain doing these things in the US/EU would be grounds for taking the child away from them. Now, don't get too worked up, I've seen just how mentally broken people can wind up as because we've got this mentality (not to mention Japan's severe, nigh perfectionist working culture as a whole has lead to a whole lot of suicides) in real life, but the thing is, this is a work of fiction, and fiction that feels, well, normal to me. Also, this arse's supposed to be the second greatest hero around. I'd say it'd feel cheap if he didn't save the day at least a handful of times, especially when he's simply powerful enough to do it.

People who're angry at Horikoshi probably never been through abuse, I was abuse by my father, and I can tell you it's not as simple as "never forgive the abuser". My father abused me and my sister for almost 6 years, but before I grow up, before I can do anything to hurt him back, he apologized to us and changed to a better person, left me with anger and hatred that have nowhere to point at. It's painful and it's not fair, but he's not the same guy who abused me anymore. It's really like Guardian of the Galaxy 2, rarely have I ever seen anything actually captures that kind of realism of abuse. That's just how abusive family is, I can tell you how often I wish the worst fate upon him, but at the same time, he's still my dad who works hard to support us financially, and I do care about him. It's a love-and-hate relationship

What the people who are flinging death threats are missing are 1. It's a manga and is purely entertainment. I mean I love MHA, One Piece and recently gave Black Clover a shot, and I think what people forget is it's a story. I understand if some issues within the story relate to your personal life but at the end of the day, it's fiction and the Author is a human being like the rest of us trying to make it in this crazy world. 2. If the people have been following to the themes in the story, the public has been wavering on the topic of heroes. The seeds were planted in the Stain arc and the Attack on the Camp and All Might's retirement have made people skeptical about the future of heroes or if they are even necessary. Endeavor is now the #1 hero and has a sketchy past. IT WILL COME TO LIGHT. There is a lot of foreshadowing, the news crew are on the scene after the High End Fight, with Dabi's appearance and if the bombshell of him being Endeavor's son is true, then expect lots of people to loose faith and heroes and for the profession to not be as highly praised as it was. Seriously people.....use your brains and think.

Just because Endeavor has done horrible things, doesn't mean he isn't capable of good deeds. Should his past be ignored, or forgiven? Absolutely not! Can he be redeemed? Maybe, but it's going to take a lot of time, a lot of apologies and a lot of sacrifices.

Meanwhile, Kratos' change into a better individual is being accepted even though what he did is on a whole other level of unredeemable.

Hirokoshi has yet to miss a beat in delivering deserved characterization. What sad human being wouldn't want to see an endeavor redemption arc? Seeing him go from terrible abuser to stubborn doof trying to make things up to his family would be so satisfying- I don't doubt he will be punished, but I also don't think he deserves to die or spend the rest of his life depressed. Yes, he left scars. A lot of family members do. Im not saying what he did was right or defending his actions, but he deserves a second chance to redeem himself and prove to his family that he can be a good father.

It is honestly ridiculous that there are people that take a fandom to such a point, where they blind themselves to understanding that a manga character is not a real life character. These people are so ridiculously missing the point about the amazing writing Horikoshi is doing, is sparking emotions in them - that is why he is so popular - but when they mistake these feelings for real life rage and frustration instead of an artistic one, then they're just wrong.

I don't understand how could be so cruel for a manga. I know that a lot of people hated Endeavor for what he's done and you have a right to but honestly this is getting out of hand. Why threaten the creator about his characters and the way he handles them just because you didn't get what you wanted? It's not your story, your art, your character. If you wanna still paint Enji to be the bad guy then we're a FanFiction to fit your needs. There is no good justification that anyone could ever give that makes it right to threaten Horikoshi. Enji is far from being redeemed guys. His arc still holds so much room for him to grow as a person and while the things he's done in the past cannot be changed, he can try to change himself now to prevent the stuff that happened back then from happening in the future. You have to remember that Horikoshi is writing these characters with the intent to still keep them as human as possible. Enji's road to redemption is something a real human would try to do as well had they been in his shoes and wanted to fix things. Another thing that made me upset was hoe a lot if people reacted to when Shouto yelled at the TV that he was watching while Enji was fighting High-end. You have to understand that that is how a real human would react when seeing that their father might just die. It doesn't matter how much shit they put you through, at the end of the day that's his father. Please remember that Shouto also respects Enji as a hero for all the things he's managed to accomplish during his career. He may hate him but wishing death upon him isn't really something Shouto would do. Guys, Dabi just came onto the scene so there is still a huge possibility that Enji could be exposed if our theory is correct. Chill out and enjoy the manga for what it is. Like I said before, if you really want Endeavor to be the bad guy still then write a fanfic.

I wonder how many of them loves Bakugo even though he’s an abusive bully to Izuku. That said I hope Todoroki is not gonna just brush off his abusive childhood in the name of “forgiveness”. I want him to make it difficult for his father earn and fight for that forgiveness.

I honestly think ppl are upset about this whole redemption thing because in real life if someone abused his or her child/spouse, the real life scenerio would be to make sure the child/spouse is safe and to remove them from the situation. The advice always given to domestic violence victims is "dont stay." In addition, those that were abusers don't seem that capable to change that quickly as they have their own problems to work through. It is possible that ppl who are angry about this redemption arc are coming from that point of view. Also, while other characters have done far worst things (like kill a whole tribe, for example), those actions seem far less relatable, while domestic violence hits closer to home for a lot of people (PUN NOT INTENDED). I definitely agree that all the criticism the author is getting is a bit too much (and death threats are never acceptable), but perhaps this is where some ppl are coming from. Spoilers ahead: Edit. In addition, i think a big cue that ppl missed was the fact that endeavor reached the number one hero spot. Finally reaching his goal meant he no longer had anything to set sights on and this probably made him feel like he lost a sense of purpose. I imagine he probably started feeling regret and guilt with the way he treated his family when he got to the top and realized being at the top wasn't what he expected, or how easy All Might made it seem (perhaps potentially having to take on the role of symbol of peace scared him). Another part some ppl might've overlooked the significance of was during the recent fight when Endeavor started overheating and he had to make sure he didnt die from his own quirk. Im fairly certain it was mentioned earlier in the story, but I just wanted to point out the frustration Endeavor must feel everytime he has to hold back in a fight because of his quirks own weakness (and how much better of a hero he would be if he could solve this problem). Creating the perfect child is, in a way, a psychological projection of himself, the perfect hero HE himself could have been. Shouta is Endeavors 'if only', if he didn't have a weakness such as overheating. Of course, this doesnt excuse abuse in any way, but the author's subtle hints about the flower to the mom and Endeavors fight really helped me see the whole picture.

I still love the my hero academia series no matter what

Endeavor makes me incredibly uncomfortable. But threatening the author is so wrong! We can critizise his way of storytelling, but people on the internet take it too far. I don't like the way he managed Endeavor story, though. I think it was creative in the beginning to have this villainous character be considered the "number two hero" because it showed that both sides had bad people, and not for getting a hero license it makes you automatically the ultimate good. It showed that the hero system in the story was flawed, and that was something i thought was going to be explored. I don't mind if he has a redeeming arc, but he has a lot of work to do if that is the case, as he made him incredibly hateable for most of the story. Im not even sure that as a reader i would be able to fully forgive him for the stuff he did to his family, even if he does something really heroic or gives up his life for saving someone. But hating Hirokoshi for that is stupid.

Endeavor has shown remorse for his actions and is actively trying to be a better person. A redemption arc is fine and I think it has been handled extremely well so far. The people who are sending and/or wishing death upon the author for telling a story about someone who has made mistakes in his life and is trying to make amends are being completely childish, to put it softly.

People hate Endeavor for being a hero character that isn't pure justice like every hero in the series so far? It's not like they're even blowing over the issue, it's the main point of the arc.

People who started threatening Horikoshi and taking this harshly are extremely short-sighted and I cannot believe they went out of their way to hate on this. Endeavor being a hero isn't him redeeming himself. Yes, he's shown that he wants to change, that he wants his son to be proud of him, but saving the day does in no way make up for the abuse he's caused. And Shoto cheering for his dad doesn't, IN ANY WAY, translate to him forgiving him for everything he made him go throw. NOT BY A LONG SHOT. I'm a victim of domestic abuse, and while I won't go into details, I'll say that, yes, I can understand, you can grow to hate your abuser, despise him, and even wish they were dead. Absolutely! I've wished my father was dead numerous times. But what people need to understand is that eventhough you can have those feelings towards someone who ruined your life, it doesn't mean you can't still love them or worry about them, even if you don't actively want to. Even if you wished you wouldn't care. That's just how things are for some people. You can't just take a case of abuse and use it as reference for EVERY OTHER CASE. Every victim has a very specific and unique set of factors that define their personality, feelings towards those who harmed them, etc. And Shoto worrying about Endeavor is absolutely okay. He's not forgiving him. He still hates him to a degree. But it's also his freaking father. He's lived with him his entire life. He doesn't wish to see him die. He doesn't want him dead. And. That. Is. Fine. I just still can't believe that people are throwing shade in Horikoshi's way for ACTUALLY writing a situation that's totally possible and sensitive. Any other mangaka could've made Endeavor save the day and have EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS MISTAKES FORGIVEN just because it's shonen and not, say, seinen. But Hori-sensei is actually writing this in a way I hadn't even dreamed of, and is making me, someone who went through a really rough childhood, connect deeply with Shoto's conflicted feelings while giving me peace with the fact that the whole Todoroki family is still getting development in the search for peace for themselves, wether that's with Endeavor changing for the better, as a human being, or just by seeing Natsuo, Fuyumi and Rei support each other alongside Shoto. And to add to that, now seeing Dabi appear and potentially reveal his identity? Seriously, people. Sensitive/Sensible storytelling, character development with a lot of passion and care by the author, AND now potential game-changing drama? What the heck else do you want? If you, for whatever reason, don't like where this is going, that's fine. Leave. Check out other shonen manga, there are plenty of options with heroic themes. But don't stick around, point fingers, and yell for no reason pretending you understand a situation when you haven't even taken the time to think about what's ACTUALLY going on in MHA. Fans should be grateful that endeavor got a redemption story arc. Some forgiven characters don't even have one (orochimaru after the war ended)

He is still his father for him. No matter what he does not want him to die. Also endevor could start to fix all of his mistakes. Doesn’t mean to 100% forgive him but come on. So ya I agree with you.
