After extensive market research and detailed comparisons of available arcade machines, I meticulously charted their pros and cons on a spreadsheet. Surprisingly a lot of companies sell arcade machines in the US, with many originating from China, featuring similar style Jamma boards or Pandora boxes ranging from 60 up to 8000 games.
Having previously experienced issues with my arcade which I bought from Costco then upgraded its core to a Pandora box with 3000 games, I decided that I will do my research this time. So at first, I discovered Quality Arcades through my neighbor. Numerous nights spent playing classics and enjoying beer at his place convinced me to invest in one of their larger models, the Hexacade. Despite reservations about online purchases for expensive items, my extensive research led me to Quality Arcades. I sought further information by chatting with Blake on their website, who was helpful but suggested a direct call for more details.
To my surprise, the Quality Arcades team answered my call after 7 pm EST, addressing my queries without pressure. The next day, I ordered a 4-player Hexacade with a custom wrap in the retro beach design with additional light-guns and a trackball.
Within three days, I received the design proof, faster than the stated 4-5 days on their website. The 3D design looked amazing. After confirmation, they initiated production and shipped it.
However, I encountered an issue with the shipping carrier XPO, as they rescheduled my delivery appointment for the next day and I have already made arrangement with other people to help me bring it inside my house since the carrier didn't offer white glove service.
Regarding the gun holsters, I initially expected them to come pre-attached based on photos I'd seen online. Quality Arcades clarified that they do not ship the machines with pre-attached holsters due to packaging constraints. Additionally, the holsters didn't include screws, so I purchased my own. A suggestion for Quality Arcades is to include this information in the product description.
For future buyers, any small screws will work for the holsters (you only need two for each side). I obtained mine from Home Depot.
