Interface: I've gotten an Arturia Audiofuse lately as it's the only quality interface with RIAA phono inputs that I could find. 2 monitor outs, re-amp out, 2 mic/line/instrument pres, 2 additional line ins, 8 ADAT in/outs, midi in/out, talkback, 2+2 phones outs... Good stuff!

Nice. I've been using this setup for over a year. Well, I used the Behringer interface because it's really cheap. I'd probably recommend the Novation Launchkey instead of the Akai, though. More drum pads, and the arpegiator is a lot better.

Great to see you embracing mobile/iPad music, I run a professional full on music studio but I find myself doing more with iPad set up lately. I use the Arturia keyboard and just waiting any day now for the new Arturia Keystep Pro to use with mine. I use an Evo 4 interface and also a hub using Modal Skuplt and Modal Craft 2 running on the latest IPad 12.9” Pro 3rd Gen 1TB. Love creating music on my IPad and with this gear its amazing.

Bolo Da Producer Thanks man. So is yours :) I also use a pair of Tannoy 402 they are not as powerful as your Yamahas but I leave then I leave them in the car and are car ready to take out if I am out and about. They also work with a power supply converter for when I am really mobile with my wheels hehe. Seriously though it was you who actually inspired me to start looking into the iPad for music creation and since I already had a lot of the gear so my next step was to start downloading some apps. Now I have like a GaZillion of them LoL. I am so amazed at the fun and quality you can make with it all. Its brought back the fun side in being creative for me so thank you Bolo :) 👍😃

Before i watched this video i upgraded to the ipad pro 11inch with 256gb. i got the exact same akai keyboard. next on the list is the focusrite. keep up the good work man.

Love this Bro. I'm 47, and getting back into synths. That I haven't touched since I had to sale when I was 19 and had to sale the last if my gear. A Roland mc303, Yamaha CS1X, DX27 and a few other bits. I've got myself quite a few bits. But all still in the boxes. As building work going on. Great vid. I love the Focusrite 2i2. I had originally bought it for my PC and had no idea it also worked with the iPad. Now it’s on the iPad full-time! I was really hoping you would talk about the iPad stand you got, but it’s the only thing you didn’t mention!

You won’t regret the pro man. I was able to get the 1tb version of the 11inch pro for $800 and I’m completely digging the iOS production now. Not that you can’t do it with the 2nd gen, but there are definite improvements from 2nd to 3rd gen to me.

Hey really enjoying your channel, quick question. What is so helpful about the USB-C connection instead of the lightning? It seems only real difference is you need the lightning to usb adapter, and you need to always have a power supply, couldn't just run the interface right into the ipad. am i missing anything or is that it? trying to decide between base model Gen. 8 or Air 4. thanks keep it up with the great content!

USB-C offers a higher power delivery rate than Lightning and delivers a faster charge under the same voltage. Whereas Lightning supports a maximum current of 2.4A, USB-C carries 3A with support for up to 5A.

Yes, connect everything to the hub and run the USB from the hub into the adapter.

Hi Bolo I've been having issues with my AUv3 plugins like D1 Synth, Synth master one and more. Using them as stand alone apps just works fine in ios 13 but when I use them as a AUv3 plugin in Beat Maker 3, Cubasis 3 or even the garage band it always mute itself and crashes even then after closing the app then opening it again I always got an error for plugin failed to open. Have you ever experienced anything like it even so what could be the solution of fixing that issue?

Everything is hooked up through iPad camera adapter to usb hub. From there I connect everything through usb hub

Great setup my brother. As a my mobile "Fun in the Run" so I went with a MBP M1 , Arturia MiniLab MK II, Antelope Zen Go, Beyerdynamic DK 770 Pro with the Xtrial hub with a 1tb drive built-in. Keep creating that amazing music my brother. Blessings

What do audio interface do compared to a usb mic just asking since I’m kinda new to this?

It’s an apples to oranges thing. You can get a good USB mic, but you might not have great monitoring. On the flipside you can have a great monitoring system and a bad conventional mic. If you do get a USB mic make sure that it is really good, and make sure you have a good monitoring system.

I just added some desk grommets that go in the holes where your are running the power and they have a/c plug built in to them. You gotta check them out. $25 per grommet, totally worth it. Let me know bro if you get them.

All you need is the camera adapter. A powered USB adapter to plug into the camera adapter. From there you just plug-in the other devices into the USB hub and the iPad should recognize it

Yo Bolo, why the soundcard ? The sound and quality from the Ipad is pretty good by itself ... Is it to allow other sources to be sampled using the card or hooking up a mic ?

Impulse buy lol. But it does sound good. It’s maybe adding 3 to 5% better quality, nothing major but you can notice a slight difference. But it’s definitely not neeeded

@@BoloDaProducer Yeah... I'm thinking about getting the 12.9 also but at this point I might as well wait until the new 2020 one's drop. Also... when the 2020 IPad Pro's drop the price on the 2018 IPad Pro's should go down so it's a win-win.
