I bought a 2016 3.8 Ultimate 6MT in 2019. It had 6000 miles when i got it (now has 45k) and it is my daily driver. Looking forward to the new exhaust on your car - it looks like it's in great condition.
i love my genesis so much and owned mine for 5 years. im actually about to buy another one. i should be pushing 600+ hp in a few months with this engine build im doing on my chanel . right now im about 400 hp
@@Unknown-vv1td I’d only recommend it if you get one that’s been well taken care of. If u can find one with the proper maintenance and decent miles then I would say yes! Also I would recommend bringing a mechanic to check it out to see if it’s worth it as a lot of people have ran through these cars/motors.
@@Bk2.Kantrell hmm im thinking bk2 for the better interior, then maybe a 2.0 because its gonna be my first car and im not gonna race or track or anything, i just want a cheap comfortable coupe i can use to go to school or wherever i want
@@Bk2.KantrellI did that as well before I got wheels and coils. My favorite thing I did was Michelin pilot sports though. That alone made the ride feel night and day better.
I bought a used 2012 3.8 coupe for $9.2k wasn’t bad of a deal had 90k miles on it came with a broken reverse light and low tire pressure check engine light but very worth it I don’t regret it (yet so far lol)
one of the funnest cars i've ever driven , I had a rsx first but the rwd and torque on the 3.8 are so much fun on the road . i own a 2015 3.8 Ultimate once yo get your tint spacers and lower it you're ganna wanna do more.
Glad to hear ur enjoying ur gen! exactly I already have it lowered just need spacers and then I recently got an exhaust and it made the car way more fun to drive
@@Bk2.Kantrell car is dope asf man really makes the 370 benz infinities etc shake . gapped many v8s in my stock 3.8 breaks necks for sure . once my 3.8 engine is done , throwing a ls in there
I would say just change the oil every 3-5k miles and keep up with maintenance. If u plan to modify the car try to do it one at a time just in case u run into an issues. Also before u buy make sure maintenance is up date and regular oil changes. one of the the main reasons the car engine blows is because of low oil. So check ur oil weekly
11 year owner here. I have a bone stock track model with the Lambda GDI 3.8L V6, the Brimbo brake package, and a set of MD Motoring Chrome 7 mag 18" rims with 225 25 18 up front and 245 45 18 in the back. I haven't dealt with a lot of issues because I always had the scheduled maintenance done in a timely manner. 250k miles on the road, close to 90 oil changes. 1 set of head gaskets. 6 sets of brakes. 1 cat converter, because somebody stole the original, one rear end servicing, a new radiator, 8 sets of tires because I like launching to the speed limit, 3 batteries, 1 starter and solenoid and a Brake light switch that is connected to the ignition system. The cost of ownership hasn't been bad at all. fix a something here or there, that's it. but if everything is ignored, if the car has been neglected, it's going to rack up big time in the shop. If you bought one new, it really isn't very expensive. it all depends what has already been taken care of. and the older these cars get, the more care they need. but to this day, mine is a cannonballer. I've gone twice in it already and plan on doing it again from Long Beach to Manhattan again in april 2025.
Nice gen. I have um magnaflow exhaust on mine. Big ass tips loud asf on stock. When you get test pipes and downpipes makes it sounds mint. But solo exhaust are good too.
