I have worked at Decathlon as a full-time employee, that to in Mountain United, i strongly agree over your points.

It's commendable how unfiltered you're about it. Sending you loads of positive energy :)

Brother its totally true....i have also worked in decathlon for almost 3.5 years and i believe environment in decathlon depends on your leader/manager be it store manager, operation manager or department manager.....as they rule by their own way and not follow the policy and guidelines, they create their own rule and regulations......In short we can say that there is a lack of organization and Work life balance is not at all good....I believe there should be one designated HR for each store where every single employee can reach and raise their voice......Overall working in decathlon has a great learning but culture is not at all good.....Dont recommend anyone to join, sorry for being harsh but its a reallity.......

This is the situation in almost all B2C sales. I have quit byjus for very similar reasons even though the pay was very good. One thing I'd like to say to you is that you have a very likeable way of presenting your content. With time I'm sure it'll get better. Watching your videos has made up my mind to start skating again after 15 years. So keep making more videos..👍

Every private/corporate job problems...no rules and regulations for employees,govt. Should bring some laws and regulate this system.

This scene not only in Decathlon, where ever you find an Indian manager and management you will find the same scene.. Decathlon far better than Star hotels .. They work more than 14 hours..n trainees without perks they work same time. Only they know entry time not exit time..But I appreciate your boldness.. Most of the MNCs policies are good for employees but selfish bootlicking managers within our society will try to prove themselves as very talented by increasing the number of hours of work or reducing the expenditure ,, as if his pocket is getting empty.. Problem is not from the company it's because of selfish people.. If employee works in given time perfectly then things won't be like this .. Employees themselves created this because for the sake of overtime money .. So gradually things changed and again we all went into slavery... But one thing for sure be patient and work on one concept and your the boss in that then you no need to lick anybody's . .. Don't compare with anybody just be yourself and learn learn learn that's it you will be the king... any how all the best ..

True to every word it is better said that reality is so different than what is potratied at Decathlon.

I have worked in decathlon as well As kfc and. Now in airline as ground staff. Let me. Tell youu. One thing, it's the same story with every field in INDIA. Trust me.

Time management is biggest problem in India in paper they say 8-9hrs work but we have to work 12-14 hrs

I gave an interview today at decathlon. I passed all the 4 rounds. I got rejected on the last PI interview just because after my post graduation i stayed idle and didn’t do any job for 5 yrs. It’s a ridiculous reason. The interviewer kept asking me about my personal life. And lastly he said I don’t have any goals in life. He didn’t even cared to ask me questions regarding decathlon. I even went by reference. Moreover i am gymming person with a good fitness and conversation skills in english. If i was jobless for some personal reasons which I don’t want to disclose, and i wanted to start my career, they don’t have the right to give me such a stupid reason for rejection. He kept nagging me by asking about my personal life. I really want to sue decathlon of dehradun for hosting such a stupid interview.

Working as a part timer rn in decathlon and fully agree on this

I came across your video right now, and just to share something with you. I have been working in Decathlon from last 2 years as a Full timer and it has not been easy. But the things which I have learned today as a leader of my own buisness is amazing. Learnings are something which I have always looked forward in decathlon. But Apart from it, the benefits which company provides (Can't be disclosed openly) Be it a FT or PT both are equal. Next you have 2 week offs now which is been followed in India, it's something out of the box in Indian retail stores. Today no other retailers give 2 week offs. Next I feel what you mentioned is somewhere honest but with the implementation of new working hours and two week offs, it has been very easy to maintain my personal life. and also I have freedom to set my week off days now which are fixed. Being a passionate trekker I spent almost 4 days in a month for my treks that too without much stress. Next thing is the growth opportunities you get in the organisation when you start working with more sets of teams is amazing. I'm not saying decathlon is 100% perfect but few steps considering feedbacks in past taken have been very helpful.

Decathlon is all about referal. The strong referal you have you will 💯 get selected. Even if sleep, faint, very bad performance during your drd test, if you have referal. Even god cannot stop you. People who are going for selection. You should have very strong referal than only go,other wise don't go literally it's waste of time, money and energy.

Im a part timer in teamsports, have given backup to mountain sports a few times, mannn the facing in mountain sports is so hectic, also you forgot to mention the points in the video like BSU, INVENTORY, SCF, i stayed back in store till 12am sometimes to complete these priorities lol. also the sunday sport early morning can be hectic sometimes specially when youve left store late night on saturday.

I follow your channel because you intend to explore the topic of skate as a sport or recreational activity. Having said that I do understand your expectations with respect to quality time. The work culture in India has been like that since long and that should change. Since you are a English major you could explore more of your thoughts about the sorroundings and changing times in India while skating around. Coming to retail scene... Decathlon is a middle ground for sport goods where the quality is in between with a large range... They are not high-end but they are not cheap either. In EU they have a work culture which is time bound with fixed hours as per law. And hence even if the stressful environment of performance appraisal is the same... Atleast time is valued. Also hourly rates are comparable to a starter graduate salary... Also to keep in mind is that they have fewer staff in EU manning the store as compared to India where manpower is huge and people will strive to keep a position. For what you strive to achieve as a vlogger could be very interesting considering what you showcase in your channel. How you show that what you show will set the tone for further monetization... If you take up a course on media or work for a media company you will have the opportunity to present better because the subject(inline skating in India and its growth) is definately watchable and will find followers... You are right to say this rant is a way off topic... But for viewers who also skate (myself), these rants are pretty much nostalgic of the struggles in growth. Get back to your happy place and get planning some nice locations and camera angles... Editing plan and stay away from negative influences... It will definately not help building up your channel...
