@@chadlakin7517 We had a set plan because we needed to be in Cusco on a certain date for our Salkantay Trek. But we spent 1 night in Paracas, 1 night in Huacachina, 1 night in Nazca and 1 night in Arequipa. We won a free night in Nazca for a free flight over the Nazca lines. So we originally planned for 2 nights in Arequipa. If I had to do it all over again I would have spent 2 nights in Paracas, 2-3 nights in Arequipa. You can skip Nazca in my opinion and Huacachina only needs a night. I hope you found this helpful! I have several Peru videos on my channel if you are trying to plan a trip. If you ever have a questions regarding Peru, feel free to reach out!
Thank you, this video it is very helpful. i am traveling to Cusco in April 2024 from Brisbane Australia I'm going to do the 10 day stops from Cusco to Lima. this is huge trip i have been planning for years. And it's such a long flight to get there. going to stay a long time I'm going to be staying 54 days. so, I'm going to try and learn some Spanish before i get there.
Hey Kayla, Thanks for the informative video. I stumbled across this and based off the your only complaint, that it wasn't an overnight on the last leg, decided to reverse our course from Peru-Bolivia and do Bolivia-Peru. The south trip departs Cusco at 9pm :)
YAY! I am so glad that you found this video helpful! That was the goal! The main purpose I wanted to make this video is to give the information that I couldn't find when researching for my trip. I loved PeruHop and I can't recommend it enough! I hope you have an amazing time in Peru and Bolivia! I am jealous that you are making it to Bolivia! I was planning on making it to Bolivia but honestly, I loved Peru so much I spent over 3 weeks there! But I cant wait to make it to Bolivia! Looks like an amazing country!
I love that ur vlogs are instructional and informative. Helps the viewers make educated and prepared decisions for their travels. And I also love the fun and “inner child” ones too! 😂
Cheri Morales Thank you Cheri! I’m just trying to make traveling easier for others. If someone can learn from my mistakes and struggles so they don’t have to then I have done my job!
Keely and Thomas PeruHop is great and definitely made my trip effortless. I wish more countries offered a service like this so you can see parts of a country that many visitors may not know about or be able to get to!
Thank you so much for this video. I will be in Peru in July and of course Lima and Cusco/Macchu Picchu were on the itinerary. After doing some research there were other things I found interesting. I discovered Peru Hop but still had some questions. I feel much better now, especially knowing I can actually go into the office in Lima and plan an itinerary there. Thanks again for the valuable information.
You are so very welcome! When I was doing research I found there was a lot of information from a first hand experience with the company so I am glad I could help you out! The people in the Lima office were so helpful. Helped us choose the right path. We were able to leave the next day. I can’t say enough great things about the company! And most importantly I felt extremely safe!
Your country is so beautiful! I am so impressed with all the different landscapes, amazing food and friendly people! I feel as if more people need to know that there is more to Peru than just Machu Picchu and that there is a cost effective and safe way to see Peru! Thank you for allowing us to visit and immerse ourselves with your amazing culture! Cheers for a happy new year!
It truly is an awesome cost effective, comfortable and most importantly SAFE option for all travelers! I am so glad we stumbled upon it! It made our trip through Peru pretty effortless!
Hi. Doing the full trip from Lima to Cusco; - Does Peru Hop take you to and pick you up from any hotel you want, or only from the hotels they have connections with? And is that included in the $200 bust ticket? - Does it have seat choices like bus-cama? Or how comfortable are the seats? - When you make a stop at one city and stay the night, do you have to schedule your next part of the trip in advance? And are you able to pick your own seats? Thanks
Peru Hop picks you up from any hotel you want. You don’t necessarily have to stay in a hotel that they have connections with. Both in Arequipa and Cusco, we booked hotels on our own and we were picked up and dropped off right at the hotel we booked. There is no assigned seats on the bus. But there is plenty of room. We never had a problem having seats next to each other. The seats were comfortable and reclined. The bus had USB ports for charging. And the over night bus, we were provided with blankets. When you book the ticket, you tentatively set your planned stops with how many days you want to stay. So when we went into the office, they set up every pick up and drop off for us. When we won the nazca flight, we had an unexpected night in Nazca which changed our plans. All you have to do is log into the Peru Hop website (they provide you with a booking number and password to log in) and make changes as you see fit. So if you planned on staying one night in Arequipa but loved it so much that you want to stay for 3 more, all you have to do is log in and change your pick up date and location. We were told that we needed to make sure we made all changes 12 hours prior to departure time. Honestly, Peru Hop made it effortless to travel. If you are considering this option to travel throughout Peru, you will not be disappointed. Also you can always pop into the Peru Hop office and talk to more in depth. We booked the ticket the day before we left. This was the easiest thing we did our whole trip! I hope this helped! If you have more questions or need more clarification just let me know!
That’s great info. So, what I understand is that I have to learn about the bus schedules, and how long each trip takes in between cities. That way I can determine how long I wanna stay at each place. I guess I can travel on the bus early during the day, arrive at each town, do some touring around, spend the night at a local hotel and then repeat the experience the following morning. Do you need a full day to plan the tour to the rainbow mountain? I understand there’s a lot of walking involved and the altitude isn’t your best friend while hiking.
Pope Francis There is a bus that leaves every day from each destination. Some of the buses are morning buses, some leave in the after noon and some are night buses. On the website you can plan your itinerary and they really explain the bus schedule/itinerary. And you can really stop and stay wherever you want. That’s the best part! As for rainbow mountain, I did not do it bc after the Salkantay Trek my feet were killing me. I do know it’s an all day trek. You leave early in the morning. I know a lot of people who did it and they thought it was amazing!
Thank you again for the additional message. You left this same comment on another one of my Peru vlogs. Like I said, I truly loved your country of Peru and hope to one day return.
Ian Christian I am so glad this video was helpful. When I was doing research I felt like there wasn’t much out there on PeruHop and felt like this would help a lot of people. I have nothing but amazing things to say about PeruHop. It was an affordable and safe option to see a side of Peru that many do not think about seeing!
Hello Kayla! Such informative and much needed source for the Peru Hop! Question: I checked Peru Hop website, I was wondering do they only leave the city on a specific time? Say I wanted to leave 4pm instead of 5am, is there a choice?
I don't undsrstand. Do the hop buses takd you on day trips AND take you from city to city? Like... are there day trips ON the way to the next destination? I just don't understand where the little day trips come in. Are they a sepaarte bus trip? Also, do they have ample room for luggage?
Hello, thank you for the detail video. When did you visit Peru, which month? I am trying to plan a trip there and see weather wise which is the best time.
Hi Kayla. Great series! I leave next week for my Salkantay trek followed by PeruHop. What type of suitcase/ bag did you use while traveling on PeruHop? What would you recommend?
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla Would you go with the same again? I've heard that the bus can't get to some of the hotels/hostels so you'd have to go a few blocks and the roads are cobblestone.
Does it get fully booked? Like say I want to get from Cusco to Puno but wont know until day before when I wanna leave Cusco, is there a chance it is fully booked?
So the bus leaves at set times from each destination. Some destinations have multiple times. The bus was full almost every day we were on it but with that being said you will be given a pin to login to your PeruHop account where you let them know when you want to leave so you will have a spot on the bus. I don’t know what it will be like in May of this year with the pandemic so you may not have problems. I did it in 2019 and didn’t have any problems.
There are many routes and stops that you can decide to take. You can also stay for how everything long you would like in each destination. PeruHop makes it easy for you to decide as you go!
might be doing the Lima to Cusco route without the lake and then Cusco to La Paz. 12 hours route from nazca to arequipa and arequipa to Cusco seems mental. Did they stop for toilet breaks? Both trips coming to about US$ 250. Think worth it
Hey, Kayla! Much thanks for a great and informative video. Planning on Peru being stop #5 on a 28 country trip next year. The question is, and I know the video is old so you may not get notifs, but I am planning on doing a Nazca flight and an overnight homestay on the Uros islands on the way to Machu Pichu. Is it possible to do just these stops with just a hop off/on for the Nazca flight and maybe 3 days total in the Lake Titcaca area (one night on the Uros and day before/after in Puno) and just skip the other places on the bus route and just keep going at a pace or do you have to stop in certain areas?
So for the Nazca lines if you are going to do a flight you will need to stay the night. So yeah you can hop off at Nazca and then log into your portal that PeruHop gives you to let them know when you will hop back on. It’s honestly super easy. We purchased our PeruHop at the Lima office and they talked us through everything and it was so easy. Honestly you can make whatever route you want. That’s the beauty of PeruHop.
How long did you spend in Peru doing all of these activities? I’m planning on going this summer and I’m just trying to get a understanding of how long it takes to explore the country?
I spent a little over 3 weeks in Peru. I spent time in Lima, Paracas, Huacachina, Arequipa and Cusco. And honestly, I felt like my time went by so quickly! I easily could have spent 2 months there. But I think it just depends what you want to see and do. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
Thank you for sharing this video. Can you travel from the states straight to Cusco or its more cost effective to travel to Lima, than, transfer from Lima to Cusco? Are you able to use us dollars in Peru or you were able to us credit card, or you have to us peru sols? Are there alot of english speaking people there? Does Peru hop have a tour guide? Thanx
I’m sure you can travel from the states to Cusco but more US airlines will make a stop in Lima and than a regional flight to Cusco. It was cheaper for me to fly to Lima and take the PeruHop to Cusco. I did not try to use US dollars in Peru. Some places will take credit card but I mostly used the Peruvian Sol. Yes there are a lot of English speaking people throughout Peru. I traveled to many different places and did not have a problem with communication. There is a guide of the PeruHop bus but not every stop has a guided tour. But there is someone on the PeruHop during your journey.
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla Thank you so much. that is very helpful. I am looking to get the spiritual center in cusco. And was looking to see how long it will take me. How long did it take for the travel to cusco by bus? thank you again.
@@Ama28 we made stops in Paracas, Hucachina, Nazca and Arequipa so we took a few day journey. Each place we stayed at least one night. You have the ability to make it as short or long as you want. PeruHop has that flexibility.
I do believe in some stops like in Huacachina, I do believe you can stop for the day and then go to the next stop Bc they have a night bus. But I would check with PeruHop directly. On the website you can plan your trip.
Estefanía Zúñiga If you visit the PeruHop website they offer several different options that range in length. If you wanna use them and only have say 4 days there is a bus that offers that. Just know that it may not make all of the stops that we did. Either way, you will love PeruHop. It’s the best way to see as much of Peru as possible!
I do think PeruHop is appropriate for any age. While we were on PeruHop, there was a family onboard with children. As long as the 4 year old is ok being on a bus they should be ok. There are days where the bus ride is long. There are also night buses as well. So just keep that in mind.
Depends on where we were going. We had an overnight bus from Huacachina to Arequipa. And then almost a 12 hour bus ride from Arequipa to Cusco which is during the day. And that was the one negative I had. I wish that was a night bus. Would have been more efficient
No there is no food included with the PeruHop ticket. But there are included stops like Paracas National Reserve, Pisco Tasting and other stops. It does also allow you to book cheap accommodation on the bus as well as cheap excursions if you please. As for cost of food, it is possible to eat cheap in Cusco. We traveled 3 weeks around Peru on a budget so it's possible. I don't remember exact costs but based on American standards, it was really cheap.
Haha 🤣 I wish. I actually made the video because I really liked the company. Prior to booking I couldn’t find information on the company. I figured if I was looking for the information other people were too. Also if it was sponsored that information would be disclosed in the video and description per law. So your assumption is wrong.
Congratulations on your slaughtering of the Spanish language. Arequipa is pronounced: AH-RAY-KEE-PAH. (Hearing you pronounce it: ah-ray-KWEE-pah was quite excruciating). NOT "super cool!" FYI, Pisco is not "wine", it's basically a brandy. Overall, not a great video, sorry. Score: 1.625 (out of 10.000)
Ok I give you a score of 0 out of 10 for being a decent human being. Clearly no one taught you that if you don’t have anything nice to say not to say anything at all. But at the end of the day you leaving a comment only makes the video perform better so thank you for putting more money in my pocket. You did the complete opposite of your goal. Have the day you deserve 😘
